Another great video! At your advice, I bought a rear view mirror camera and agree whole heartedly with you. Concealing the wires is now my challenge. Do you have any suggestions? I am planning to remove my headliner per your video later this week.
    All the best!!

I made a video about removing the headliner. Its not difficult, but time consuming. If you have the shelf right above the driver/passenger seat that is were I placed a cigarette lighter plug and a USB charger. So, if I need to replace the rear view mirror it will be easy to do. The wires can easily be tucked in just above the window in the headliner, and the plastic column on the passenger and drivers side easily pops off. You will see this in the headliner video. Enjoy your build. For reference all the videos are by category at thefrugalfactor.com/

Really helpful information and great video. I do have a question about cable routing and power source for rear camera. Can you share how you did yours?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I pulled the power from the fuse box, and placed a lighter plug (this one amzn.to/3PalFoN ) on the shelf just above the driver passenger compartment. That shelf is an option. I plugged in a USB Car charger in the lighter plug and ran the wire down to the Dash Camera/mirror. This way if I need to replace anything it will be easy, no searching for wiring or taking anything part. Note: all the videos can be seen by category at thefrugalfactor.com/ Thank You for watching!

Have you heard of comma ai? Not sure if it will support the van but it does lane keeping which is great for avoiding drivers fatigue on long stretches of highway

I looked - I does not support Promaster Vans, or Ford Transit, or Sprinters. Even if it did I would wait for the $1250 price to drop. Which it will in future years. Remember the title of the channel is Frugal Factor 😁

I've been toying with the idea of getting the full time backup camera for my Promaster. I assume the only reason you need a forward facing camera is if you get in an accident and need legal documentation. Is that correct, or is there some other reason for the forward facing camera?

The main reason is to have a full time rear view of the van. Then have the dual dash camera is a bonus. Yes, it could be used in case of an accident.
