4 years later and I really don’t believe anybody can fathom how much of a genius Key! is. Don’t get me wrong him and Maco complemented each other wonderfully on this project but Key! takes it to another level IMO..on the surface it’s regular ATL shit but if you have a real ear for this shit it’s a lot deeper.. I love how on several tracks including this one they decide to let the other do the adlibs on the other ones verse. I doubt many ppl even noticed that to this day. It’s like handing over the power to create a whole different aspect to your personal work of art. Key totally owns the first verse and he’s not even rapping. Also the parallels in the verses throughout the tape are magnificent. For example this track starts with Maco saying “I think it’s in my blood like my cells” only for Key! to follow with “I got bloods in the cells” in the middle of his..just incredible trap shit. Also I may be a little to high..
its crazy cause in the 90's music was all about Newyork and california music. And Atlanta music was slander, especially giving the Outkast a hard time. But check out the rap music now? it sounds kind of like down south music. Asap Rocky with the chopped n screwed, and the gold grillz and the syrup sipping. do yall know where that came from? the south. This music is hype music!
