Looks like I missed this video last week but I’m here now, it says it’s to restore protection but doesn’t claim to degrade protection before polishing, does claim to enhance the look of the paint but has no protection or enhancers
Correct, it's a strong, pure Shampoo... As such it is ideal for removing the remnants of old protection that has started to breakdown - that doesn't mean it's a strip-wash which is probably why they don't make that claim. Really it depends on the type & condition of a protection whether a product like this will declog it or help to remove it
Great review Mark I have to say if there’s one thing this series has proved is that Autobrite have some great products ,this Decon shampoo looked very impressive ,I find myself using and buying more of their products my most recent being Citrus Pearl I highly recommend it ,this is a great series of videos ,as always keep er lit big man 👏👏👏
I've found the same Jim - before last Autumn I'd never actually tried any Autobrite products but they're quickly becoming one of my favourite brands... The stuff is simple, effective and enjoyable to use... This one was definitely impressive 👌🏼 You're not the first to mention Citrus Pearl... In fact you're not even the first today lol so maybe that's another I need to try 😬
Glad you enjoyed it as much as I do mate. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience It performs brilliantly It’s not like Zero But definitely on par with CarPro Reset. The scent is outstanding I agree. Very addictive for sure Excellent content as always Mark Was waiting for “the Flip” lol
It's a very enjoyable product! The flip is always there, sometimes faster or more subtle than others, but I always like to throw one in (excuse the pun 😂)
I haven't tried it on Graphene coatings so I can't answer that - from other similar products I've used though, I find similar results on Graphene coatings and ceramic so maybe this will be the same 🤔 definitely a few questions still to be asked 👍🏼
Great review as always Mark. Simple but all the detail you'd want is there.👍 Looks a lovely shampoo to use either way. Certainly if your a regular washer and top up evertime then the decon element doesn't matter.l and you can enjoy everything else about it. Hope you found your teeth in the end 😜🤣
🤣🤣 well I found some that fit 🤣🤣 As you say Andy, a decon shampoo isn't something I'd probably need to use too often but maybe on the odd neglected car prior to a bit of protection! As an actual shampoo you're 100% right, it's just a lovely shampoo! Thank you mate 👍🏼
Well I'd say you'd only need 20-30ml for a decon/maintenance wash and it's not something you'd be doing on a weekly basis so yes, if used it intended by it's purpose (i.e. as a decontamination wash) you probably use this once every 6 weeks and a 500ml bottle could do 15-20 washes... For someone at home looking after 1 or 2 cars, I'd say that's excellent VFM 👍🏼
Hi Garry... I haven't done any testing like that with it so to answer your question honestly - I've no idea lol From the instructions & marketing I'd say this is primarily a shampoo ☺️👍🏼
Cracking video Mark, as always. I have GT Decon and think it's an excellent product, and I see that AD have made this the same price as GT, interesting! Possibly unfair of me, but do you have a preference? All the best Mark. 👍
It's a very fair question Lee, I am a self-declared 'reviewer' after all 😂 With respect to both brands though, I think it's a bit too early for me to answer that in all honesty as I've only used the AD product once and the GT one countless times... Both are great though, I will say that! 👌🏼
Correct, I definitely wouldn't be using a product like this for maintenance cleaning - it's for declogging existing coatings (e.g. properly installed ceramic coatings) or removing older waxes/sealants which are showing signs of fading 👍🏼
Well they're 2 very different products - Purple Velvet is a nice shampoo, but it's more like an every day shampoo for maintenance washing and just enjoying going out and cleaning your motor Decon shampoo is more of a specialised product - to be used to either help rejuvenate fading sealants or, when they're starting to break down, at the right concentration it can't be used to help remove what's left. I like both, but it's a case of horses for courses lol 👍🏼
Not straight after this - I would do a chemical decontamination (tar & glue remover then fallout remover) and after that, either apply a protection OR clay the car but ONLY if I was going to machine polish it 👍🏼
I have Autobrite ceramic coating on my car. It's been a dream to clean over the winter. Applied the auto topper for the coating. Hard to work with, but we'll worth it. Getting a new car this week. Would you recommend this before a paint correction?. Would you still clay the car?. Great video 👍
It would do no harm before correction as, theoretically, it should be removing the remnants of any old sealants that have faded - obviously if the car has a proper/freshly applied coating, you'd need more than a strong shampoo!! As for claying, I would always recommend claying prior to correction work, in fact I'd say it's essential - any physical contaminants on the paintwork could be picked up by the polisher and inflict even more damage - I would thoroughly clean it, chemical decon (I.e. tar and fallout) then clay prior to paint correction 👍🏼👍🏼
@@SparkleanAutos The New one needs correction. There's no protection on it. BMW black paint. Thanks for replying. Will get it started this weekend. Love the Chanel BTW 👍

Great review, need to give this a whirl to compare with GT decon and Infinity wax’s Wax Off shampoos. Do you think the 1st application via lance would be needed? I would expect the contact wash with the product should do the clearing of old wax/sealants with the normal pre wash to clear the superficial bulk of dirt muck etc as it normally would. One aspect to highlight is the dilution ratios, some of the decon shampoos I’ve tried recommend 50-100mls of product so AB’s is good on the cost front. If ya liked this then Autobrite Citrus Pearl is an absolute must try, Fantastic shampoo 👍
Thank you mate 👍🏼 First of all, for clearing/cleansing the car if older waxes/sealants, no I wouldn't bother again with the lance application, I don't think it's necessary when the contact wash will do the job.. perhaps the lance application is better for declogging? 🤔 I can't say yet but something worth looking into!
