Tried this the other day at my local guitar center and the key action of this keyboard it's wonderful. Planning in buying the fantom 7 pretty soon.
What's the hell the mics inputs for if you can't sample or have audio tracks
Does Fantom 6 have RPS function which triggers sequencer patterns when the pads are pressed ?
I didn't find it in the user manual. It was available on Fantom X & Fantom G.
How much space does it have for presets and updates
Complete for me
In your opinion ed the RD 2000 better or the same then the famtom
My unit has locked up on me three times in the last two weeks and the midi implementation in this Fantom seams half cooked. With "local off" a lot of things don't work anymore. Deja view Fantom G.
how does it sound compared to the yamaha montage? the same level or a little less in your opinion (for example the korg kronos sounds dryer than the motif\ montage and the fantom)
Of course this is all based on opinion and there is no "Best Sound", only preference but....the consensus of the players at our store feel the Fantom takes the lead in a few areas such as the out-of-the-box piano sounds and even the electric patches (which are all the classics - we're waiting for updates). They seem to favor the Montage for its orchestral sounds. Hope this helps
Because I’m thinking about buying a fantom or the RD 2000
I hope you teach us every thing...your great your friend Eric
Does this keyboard have a tone wheel organ where the sliders control the drawbars? Another Roland guy said it does but where?
Let us check with Ed and we'll get back as soon as we can on that!
No it doesn't have a clonewheel organ with drawbars even though Roland does have it in other products. This is a glaring omission for a flagship product along with the complete lack of supernatural acoustic tones.
Confirmed, it does NOT, as CTBroadfoot says, have this feature. Roland is however great about listening to customer feedback and we suspect they will include this feature in a future update!
@@cornermusic5057 Thanks for the info. Scott Tibbs from Roland in another online video said it does have this feature. Roland should get their messaging correct.
Thank you for this strait forward video .The parameter dial is the way to select what type of chord to use .As an alternative could the pads be used to select the chord type ? This could be useful for basic playing at a live situation . I like the chord feature because it empowers the novice and is good for learning .So a thumbs up from me ! It is an evolution of an instrument to be accessible to a greater user base .This would be a good feature for all keyboard instruments in the future .Could a stylus pen be used on the screen instead of the fingers ?
I get that people like to have authenticity with music playing .I am also amused when a demonstration is given of an ensemble reproduced .If I wanted to be more reflective of an ensemble I would have to have 20 speakers ac-cross a large room with individual track parameters .It is a music workstation , a very good synthesizer ! Not an orchestra ! An instrument in it's own right !
How about learning how to play chords!
Good question! Let us check with Ed tomorrow and we'll get back to you as soon as we can!
Will it be able to install integra engine packs from the website like the FA series?
Not to our knowledge. We can ask the Roland folks but I'm sure we won't receive an answer until after NAMM. You may be able to find this info on their website.
Is it available in Indonesia? and what is the price in indonesian's rupiah ?
It is available there and the prices are 262,990 for the 6 / 277,990 for the 7 and 300,490 for the 8
Wkwkwk murah bro!
The chord mode is somewhat kool but the sampler feature sucks!!!!!!!!!
if it is a professional keyboard, why does it need an automatic chord feature???? You are telling me that advanced keyboard players don't know how to figure out chords????? To me, this is a tremendous waste of programming that could have been applied to much more useful things servicing the professional musician. we've already been though abandoning the supernatural sounds, and the 32 measure limitation on a pattern on other videos. And what makes them think that a professional gigging musician has time to fool around with a knob changing the various envelopes while engaged in a real time song??? In the studio, yes, this could be useful, or at home, but when playing live and your other band members are "moving along", right?, with the song, is there really time for you to be looking at the screen and playing games with the shape of the envelope??? Have they thought these things out?
EXACTLY....why even have 76 and 88 key options ???.....if your only going to use one octave with chord memorys etc etc
@@justaname1862 they have to decide what to call these machines and stick with the program: if it has automatic chord players and preset rhythm patterns to help out beginning musicians, why, then just go with an arranger keyboard altogether....but if you are going to call it "Professional", then don't insult the professional. If someone really needs that kind of help to play a keyboard, they should definitely be looking at arranger keyboards, such as the Genos.
What a horrid sequencer..No Real Sampler, No Audio Tracks ??????
Why did the FA fail? See above!
I still got fg8
I will never buy it! Unless Roland will put the original fantom G or X sequencer back into it.
I still prefer the Sequencer in my X over the G...at least both of them could at read SMF
Just Aname curious, how is X better or different from G? I thought G was the better and more flexible sequencer. Just got a G, thanks to the marketing of this new Fantom, lol. The G seems like the real deal.
@@boothbuster, G & X sequencer are both about the same. But X has more convenient controls and overall use of it. Also G has no PC card slot. Means only 50mb of only internal memory for your sampling data storage.
@@XPJV Got it, thanks. Don't forget though, G takes USB sticks or even hard disks, I think - so there's a much higher limit on external storage...
@@boothbuster, it only will load it as a temporary memory. Fantom X PC card loads and stores it permanently.
