I just wrap up refitting my volatile to make it fusion ready today. The ship editor is a godsend for mock up, I just work off it with very little hiccups. Now all that remains is collecting the fusion parts for my ship, Yuppies!
I'm hoping you eventually progress to the point where you pay off your mortgage and inevitably construct a Torch Drive. I'm sure I could search some others on UA-cam to obtain this knowledge, but I'd rather watch you do it. I bought the game on Steam, played for an hour. Got frustrated by the controls. Refunded it. Then thought about it for hours while trying to sleep. Bought it again the next day. Played for 6 hours. Couldn't sleep. Played another 6 hours. Managed to get a few courier gigs around the base done for several thousand to pay the mortgage and get some ok tools. Then took a murder investigation for 30ish thousand not far from the station. Got there fast and the murderer was still there. Stabbed the dude a bunch. Ran locked my ship door. Fixed my suit which was almost destroyed. When back in, murderer was dying. Took his eva suit and helmet, fixed them. Finished the investigation. Started barreling back to the station to get that platinum 30K payout. Was intercepted by the police who docked with me and probably almost smashed my ship. I bluffed him because I was out there doing the gig with no license. Now my ship is patched up. I have decent tools, an eva suit, and I'm ready to get a license and start making real money. I'll need sleep first though...lol. My character doesn't need sleep yet, because I took the temperate trait to need less food and sleep.
The continuing adventure of trying to find and then dock with your ship. Rhad, please comply with all local system rules regarding docking with another ship. Keep in mind that you must ask the owner of the other ship (you) for permission before docking. And then you must give yourself permission before docking. Lastly, we'll need you ensure you put a cover sheet on all TPS (Temporary Portable Stardock) reports and we'll need those in triplicate . . . you should have gotten a memo. If you could make sure you do that from now on and I'll make sure you get another copy of that memo. Thanks for the video.
I'm working on my first 100 hours into this game after getting it last week, your playthrough of the game is what made me take the plunge and while the game has its charms/quirks its incredibly enjoyable with how slow the gameplay is.
Love the series man and hope it continues. Just saw another streamer install the nav stations onto your own ship and u can get the data off of it like with the pdas. Also u can move the data to your own pda or a separate one for easy selling
It is continuing, my schedule is at rhadamant.com Moving nav console data is pointless because if you sell the nav console you will also sell the data, no point in going through extra steps.
love the ship flipping part of the game, once you really know how rooms effect value and to plan around that you can make such good money flipping ships, imo its what I consider phase 2 of my early game, first phase being early game salvage to get your money high enough to start buying wrecks, then moving onto flipping once you get a good understanding of value and whats required to make ships run, then as you learn the room system and what gives value boosts to flips you start making the big income that can really carry you into getting into torch drive ships. also its great experence to figure what you like and dont like in doing all the flips to better plan the design/upgrades for your own ship.
you can flip even the most expensive ones, but it will take a long time to do. just strip the ship you want to buy (even half of the walls and floors) - buy - reinstal what you striped and sell .... bingo money XD works better with yachts
I believe your strategy does not work anymore. According to a comment someone else made on episode 15: When the derelict is spawned it sets the purchase price, which then remains unchanged regardless of what happens to it. In older versions of the game it would be based on current value, which was exploitable by the player.
well you can still flip the largest ones and still make a profit, but its allot more work now, and knowing how to properly use rooms to boost values, if u dont use rooms right then you miss out on most of the profits u can make from flipping.
There's a loading screen with the blue planet backdrop, many derelicts, with spindly cable lines extending out from them. Now I'm having flashbacks from Worlds Adrift, did you get to play that one? Oh, you showed me how to recharge my batteries, so I went to a wreck that had in the airlock a good backpack, a dolly, and a welder with 50%, but I depleted it fixing up all the reactor parts, it was like 30k plus the extra batteries I hooked into the ship, replacing the seats, plug-end into socket, but other end loose, so they might not be hooked up right, looking at the one my ship started with.
You can get a tow rope type attachment to do that. But normally attempting to use rcs while docked will give you a warning. Might even be possible to damage the ship if you try and force it.

Its eerie how strangely appropriate and fitting the rng gods have been in naming this ship the "mendicant trooper" 😂 talk about foreshadowing!!
finna binge this series, i got the game on sale and i cant get anything done... love the gameplay/tutorial.

cant use your ship to pull the other while clamped?
