I have a C-10. I’ve been asked to be an RME for an already running business that does 6M annually. I understand that I’d be required to be a bonafide employee. Since getting my license required me to obtain a surety bond, would the new license be required to obtain their own surety bond and other insurances (GL etc)? Basically, what are the risks for me?

I don’t understand 20% ownership. Do I have to give the rmo 20% of my profit plus an agreed Salary. What does 20% ownership mean??

It depends on a few things: the first is how you are structured as a business, and the second is if your RMO intends to be the qualifier for more than just your business. A person serving as an RMO can serve as such for up to three companies at any one time, as long as they have a 20% interest in the company. If this a corporation this would mean stock ownership. Smaller operations might mean structuring the business venture as a partnership with agreed upon ownership. if they only serve as 1 RMO they are only required to have a 10% Interest in the company they are qualifying.

Hello Luis, I have passed the Law part for the C-7 license but the C-7 section I have failed over 5 times. Im very busy with my company where I am the only employee. Also, more than 3 times I have been less than 5 points from passing. What would you suggest, I am so close. it's very frustrating. You think a RMO would be best for my situation with being as busy as I am?
