"The kulakuńd́alinii rises upward in eight jumps or phases, so with two syllables in a siddha mantra, the kuńd́alinii will jump four times. But a general, or publicly-given, siddha mantra will make the kulakuńd́alinii jump eight times or in eight phases. That is why such a siddha mantra has eight syllables. So you should understand that a proper kiirtana must have eight syllables, never seven or nine syllables."
"La kula-kuńdalinii sube hacia arriba en ocho saltos o fases, así que con dos sílabas en un siddha mantra, la kuńdalinii saltará cuatro veces. Pero en general o por la publicidad dada, el siddha mantra hará que la kulakuńdalinii se eleve en ocho veces o en ocho fases. Y es por esto qué un Siddha Mantra tiene ocho sílabas. Dada Priyabodhananda I've seen a lot of videos where devotees were singing "Baba Nam Baba Nam Kevalam" in front of BABA. And He never said anything to them. Why is that, then?
Can anyone tell me what it is? What religion? I’d appreciate an explanation.
It is Ananda Marga, not really a religion but an socio-spiritual organization. This specific practice is Kiirtan, a devotional singing to elevate the mind before sitting for meditation.
I thought they were practicing only the steps of the dance Kaoshikii, but it's a different spiritual dance while singing Baba Nam kevalam. It"s called Lalita Marmika, in which the toes should hit the ground at the back of the opposite feet and the hands should be kept above the heart line or joined in Namaskar position. Thank you for asking, I learned something too 😀
