  • Many forests in #Ireland have been destroyed by human activity. This has a serious impact on biodiversity.
Gearoid set up the Reforest Nature project to plant #trees in Ireland. He has already planted 10,000 and has no intention of stopping there.

Hats off man, you've literally replanted a forest! Ireland is beautiful, but a lot of areas are "green deserts" you're definitely making a difference :)

I admire this young man immensely. If you look at UA-cam videos on restoring the Caledonian Forest (in Scotland), you learn that the biggest deterrent to reestablishment of forests has been the animals themselves; specifically, the deer (and sheep, of course) that graze the young trees shoots and prevent them from growing properly. In Scotland they had to plant the trees and then surround them with temporary fencing to keep the deer away. The Highlands of Scotland are, of course, a different place from Ireland. But I'm wondering if this has been a problem for Geraoid and his group.

You should plant spores from different mushrooms with every three so they can make an connection with the network of other mushrooms and threes and plants.. Mushrooms eat dead things and are very important to create balance.
Balance in all things is important 😀
    Well done and good luck

There is no point planting trees like this, hares and deer with eat most of them. Patting your back for throwing a few trees into the ground as quick as possible means nothing if they aren't still growing a few years later

Build your own. Anything is possible if you just do it. Dont think about it, do it! And soon help will follow.

Is there a website or something that we can go to...donate, sponsor or support?

Nice story! I wasn't a fan of the music choice, it was quite distracting and didn't fit the theme of the video at all-it seemed almost mocking. Also, please consider linking his website in the description. I love the focus on local reforestation though, so thank you for highlighting it!

I bet you can work with someone to make a more efficient tool to plant your trees. That would cost you your back and all those repetitive strain injuries we bet you get and get from at more trees in than you could with planting methods that are just okay but not the best.
    Please invest in that dude!
Some intelligent designer could work with you to come up with a great tree planting tool.
Fiskars company might be good to contact about that as they’d get the patent and promote you and probably sponsor you too and they’re a great new-thinking company.
    Just saying ;-)

Its not the tree ruining anything. Its the lack of upkeep that humans are neglecting.

      @@aalynnodell9809 if it's a forest it shouldn't need upkeep 🙄
