The way you guys travel are more like locals. You both must have studied a lot before going to China. That's incredible! Love your video. Awesome!!
We try and be prepared for wherever we go. 😀 I do most of the planning and Jenny does all the editing. We are a team! 😀
And thank you so much for watching. 😀
I've been in Beijing 2 times, feel never enough, really miss the Qingfeng Baozi at Nanluo Guxiang. You guys must try it.
The sugar is for if you are eating the duck skin alone by itself. Added a texture and helps with oily taste.
颐和园 the summer palace!! It was the private garden/recreation area of past emperors. It’s MASSIVE, be prepared to spend an entire day there. Don’t forget to buy English audio guides while you’re there too. Enjoy!!
Thanks for the tips! :)
Visited in 2017 & absolutely loved Beijing the history, architecture, culture, people sites & food. Peking Duck was great. Had some like the locals , then I diverted to meat, rice & gravy as we eat it in Louisiana. Both was are good because all the food was so good & the duck was the best I ever ate anywhere in the world. I am so grateful to the PRC for opening beautiful China to the world in 1978 & keeping open since then. I cannot get enough of this beautiful country. There are no words in the English language that can truly describe how amazing this country is. 🇺🇸❤️🇨🇳
Love your guys' vids, so lively and down to earth, keep it up! Small reminder that i think the sauce they use in Peking duck is sweet bean paste(甜面酱) instead of Hoisin sauce you may find in most westernized counterparts.
Oh thanks for letting us know! It was very tasty in any case. 😀
Welcome to China and enjoy the time in China
Thank you. We have already had an amazing month in China. You can check out some of our other videos if you are interested 😀 thank you for your comment!! 😀👍
Rob & Jenny I watched all your videos in China 😀
OMG, My company is just located opposite the Peking Duck restaurant!
I'm from Beijing and now live in Canada. I'm so glad to see you guys had a good time and enjoyed yourselves in my home city.
Thanks. We had a lovely time! 😀
Video taping when you were riding, you guys got skills. You guys are the best tourists because you always do the best homework.
Haha! we try to do a bit of homework, we aren't always fully prepared though!
I love that everything seems so fresh and new to you. Lol and the way you describe food is unlike any other food blogger!
Haha i feel like we are terrible at describing food 🤦
If you are visiting the Summer Palace, don't forget to go to the Jingshan Park in the back to get a view of the whole Summer Palace. I love that place.
Walden the supermodel Jingshan Park is close to the Forbidden City, not Summer Palace
you guys obviously did a lot of research for ur travel👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You are one excellent couple and I must admit you have to be a good ambassador of China, just tell the rest of the world with you own personal experience. Bravo, i have been in England for 4 years. Please tell the rest of the world as you see it.
Hello Jenny & Rob, Noticed you unlocked a bicycle on the street using the smartphone. How do you open a banking account as a visitor in China? It looks that the visitor who stays for a short period of time can not open a banking account.
Beijing roast duck is one of the best delicacies
It really is
You guys are so passionate. If I travelled one week, I will feel very very tired. cannot imagine continue traveling for more than one month
haha! We are one month in China, but 4 months on the road already! 😀 You do get tired! but it is good fun!
I hope both of you visited Wang FuJing (I ate hotpot at that area in Beijing) and Houhai lake. Ahh, this video sure brings back memories.
Beijing is a very nice place, with many fond memories for us now too! 😀
Slow train, wow.
I love soft sleeper on slow trains passing those small yest year stations. 😍😍
You could have asked for an extra order of pancakes, they might even gave you for free if you asked cause it doesn't cost much.
Thanks for watching! 😀
I have seen quite a number of your video and I have just subscribed to your channel. Both of you have positive attitude and pleasant personality. Good luck to your future endeavors.
Thanks so much!!
My favorite Beijing Duck is Dadong in Sanlitun Area... It's a little bit expensive but better than the most famous one Quanjude.
I like Jenny on the bike with the music, so happy!
She's really enjoying herself! Thanks for watching! :)
Beijing has the largest subway system in the world. You can get anywhere with that
The Subway in Beijing was really good! Just like all the Chinese Cities. But riding a bike is more fun, more healthy and cheaper 😀
Did you guys try the duck bone soup? Usually the soup will go after the duck and normally it's a free service!
Ooo. No. They didn't offer that. 🙁 Sounds tasty though!
Rob & Jenny never mind. You can try next time. It can go either with the free soup service or the spiced salt duck dish (The latter usually will require a processing charge like 20-30 rmb). This service all comes from the whole roasted duck you ordered. Enjoy your rest of trip in Beijing!
The forbidden city.The summer palace.Great wall ...
coming up! 😀
Rob & Jenny 谢谢你们来中国游玩,玩的开心哦🥳
Rob & Jenny Temple of Heaven,The Lama Temple,Beihai Park ,Jingshan Park,Xiannong Altar,South Causeway and Drum Lan😄Go!

Thanks for the lovely comment!
what a great and awesome place.. thank you for sharing..
You're welcome. It was so good! Loved Beijing and China! Really hope coronavirus is resolved and it makes it easier to travel there again! 👍
What does accomodation like that cost in Beijing? That peking duck looks really tasty. Straight from the birth city of peking duck, it must be good!
Hey! It was about £20 a night for that place. The duck was oh soooooo good 🤤🤤🤤
Accomodation in Bejing is expensive, I think this was 25 GBP a night!!
I like your way of traveling so much. Just like locals, so much fun.
We like it too! Such a great time! 😀
I strongly recommend you to go into the Forbidden City which is inside the TianAnMen
👍
what a lovely couple :D Welcome to the country and hope you enjoyed the stay!!
Thank you so much! 😀 So sweet! We had such a great time! 😀
Love you lovely couple!
Enjoy Peking Duck and Chinese culture!
Thank you! We do enjoy it all!
Watching your vid is actually a healing experience. Best wishes!
Aw thank you ♥️♥️♥️
The best Beijing duck is actually quanjude, sijiminfu, and Dadong. Make sure to check these ones.
Maybe next time in Beijing! 😀
welcome to Beijing. Try some Beijing style hotpot, it's not spicy and lamb is major material. In my opinion, it's better than Sichuan hotpot.
oo that sounds good! Hotpot wasn't really our favourite down in Sichuan!
@@RobandJenny hopefully the sudden rain today didn't bother you guys ,hahaha
Also, if you are going to the temple of heaven, it closes around ~5pm but the tickets to the park from where it’s located within will still be on sale, so don’t fall into the trap of buying tickets to the temple after it’s been closed!
Great tip!!
I recommended 四季民福 Duck in Beijing,or 羲和小馆,and 铜炉火锅涮羊肉😂😂
Thanks!
make sure to bring passport with you if you are going to visit the palace museum ( forbidden city )or some other places, you may need it to buy the tickets.
Yeah! luckily we read about this before we went! :)
love you guys you make such awesome videos.
Thanks so much!
I love Beijing Duck!! I am suffering when I watch you eat xoxo
Haha. 😂 Oh no!! Sorry! Hope you can buy some near you! It was delicious! 😀
@@RobandJenny It is a sham, I live in Germany right now. so far away. :((
@@RobandJenny nothing beats having Peking duck in Beijing I suppose! There's a really famous Peking duck restaurant in Beijing I saw once on TV where they have specially designed ovens to cook the ducks in at the correct temperature over some kind of wood to impart a wonderful flavour to the meat! Sadly, forgot the name of the restaurant.
You may also try Liqun roasted duck at Qianmen, more authentic and economic. Many Embassidors from another countries love it.
Thanks! 😀
Rob & Jenny U R welcom😃
I am from Vancouver Canada, the Peking Duck in Beijing is very different the one in Canada. Even in Beijing, I have been to several of them and the best one is so called, the most popular and well known in Beijing, Wangfunzing, but to me a lilttle dismay. The best one in Beijing is a one that my relatives took me there, I think it is the best in my opinion.
I am sure there are s few different amazing options in Beijing! 😀 We were so happy with our choice it was delicious!! 😋
Jingzun is a budget choice for Beijing Duck, but it is good and tasty. I only take the brown sauce and onion for my Beijing duck wraps. I can see that you are very well prepared for your trip.
We had some delicious duck there! would go again!!
@@RobandJenny If you would try Beijing Duck again, a few choices for your consideration: 1) good Beijing Duck Restaurants in 5-star fancy hotels: prices ranges from RMB250-RMB300 per whole Duck set. The ones really rip people off are other dishes (particularly seafood) and drinks (even water costs a lot). O.K., they are Made-in-China at Grand Hyatt Beijing, The Horizon Chinese Restaurant at Kerry Centre Beijing, its chef was the chief chef of Dadong Beijing Duck Restaurant (a fancy and famous high-end Beijing Duck stand-alone restaurant). 2) popular one among average local resident: The Xiang Man Lou (香满楼), located at Xin Yuan Xi Li Zhong Jie (新源西里中街),50 meters west of the north entrance of Yuyang Hotel Beijing (渔阳饭店). 3) Some viewers’ comments on NOT going to Quanjude or Bianyifang (those two being around for hundreds of years) , is absolutely RIGHT.
If you are not going to inner Mogolia, Beijing will be your best place to try out authentic Monglian food.
You could dip duck skin in sugar:) that’s how we normally do
😋😋
You guys are a lovely couple!! I just hope I could travel the world with my boyfriend one day
I really hope you do. Go for it and you won't regret it!!! 😀
Hope you two have a great time in Beijing☺️☺️☺️
We had a brilliant time there, lots to see and do! :)
i know that "1hr waiting but worth it" feeling😄We went to a famous Sichuan restaurant in Chicago and waited 1.5 hrs for ordering, but once we taste the food, we immediately got that feeling. 😄
Nice one. 😀 Sometimes you just have to wait. What was that placed called? Might have to visit one day. 😀😀
@@RobandJennyit's called Chengdu impression. A tiny restaurant but has 500+ reviews on Yelp👍👍address: 2545 N Halsted St, Chicago
@@Joseph-lm7ce thanks. Maybe one day. 😀
Mouth Watering Peking Duck 😋
The flavour was incredible. Wanna go back again!!😀😀
Hi, next time you guys can try Nanjing duck, Beijing duck was came from Nanjing thousands years ago
Sorry hundreds years ago
Nice! 😋
Cool! Welcome to Beijing
Thanks :)
What a lovely start to your stay in the capital city. There's so much to do...hope you two accomplished most of them!
Oh, and I have a feeling that Peking duck was not your last. :D
I wanted to go back there for every single meal!! So so tasty! 😀
@@RobandJenny M&S does better "Peking duck" than most of Chinese takeaways in England I believe, and even better than one of the Chinese restaurants I once tried in London's China town... apart from the sugar, which you most likely will have at home anyway, everything else is included and only takes a couple of mins in the microwave/oven for a ready "feast"... you should try and maybe do a review after your adventure ends!!!
Actually the duck from Lincolnshire Britain called cherry duck.
what lovely couple.l love you, welcome to China.and if you can Chongqing is a good choice for you to travel, because l born and raised in Chongqing,I know that.
Thanks for your kind comment! We will try Chongqing next time we are in China! 😀
Rob & Jenny Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
welcome to china and enjoy your stay
Thanks! :)
Food, sightseeing then more food then more sightseeing, and then more food again. Life is good. Hahaha.
Haha! It was a brilliant day! That's for sure! 😀
You should try the Qianmen street food. You don't need to wait because they cook them all day. 😂
Good to know 😅
DaDong Beijing duck is so good, you can try .
Heard of this place as well thanks for watching 😀
How did you find this accomodation? And how much does it cost per night?

Amazing Vlog!
hey Rob & Jenny. I’m really love your videos. I recommend xiamen to you. It’s a very beautiful city in China. It lies in the south of China,I hope you will love there.
That sounds like another lovely place to add to our list for next time. 😀
What's the best thing to do there?
Rob & Jenny WoW,Thanks for your reply,Xiamen is a beautiful city With moist air and comfortable temperature. I think the best places you should go is Gulangyu island (but it’s not an island it’s a Lantau) it’s full of flowers and trees and the beautiful old building. On the other hand because of the city is an island(You can look it up on the Google map)so that Walking along the coast with the sea breeze ,it’s truly wonderful!! Xiamen is a combination of Hawaii and Miami haha , it’s a wonderful places you must go in China.
Plus There are still many attractions worth visiting, love your videos always 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
It’s definitely worth another hour for the flag activity, you should go to see the next day.
Oh really?? It's a massive shame we missed it then. It just seems like a long time to wait for some random guys to put down a flag...
Agreed, I'm scared to cycle in London as well!
haha! It's quite different. the wide roads with cycle paths in China make it alot easier! :)
I was brave enough to hire a Boris bike when I was in London and got shouted at by an angry all geared up cyclist
Aha welcome to my hometown !
Thanks for the welcome :)
How s Beijing ? N the duck
Really interesting place, and YUM duck !!
没有冰箱?
u guys know kara and nate/any other travel vloggers? odd question i know but just wondering
Haha no, we know the guys behind @stampedtogether but we don't know anyone else personally!
Beijing is in my bucket list
For a second I thought that was a reporter from UK (Rob) reporting from TianAnMen Square Beijing.
😂 oh no!! Was I that boring!! Sorry. 😀 Hope you enjoyed the rest of the video.
Enjoy your time in Beijing! I grew up in Beijing and it is really interesting to see the city from a tourist ‘s view.
Thanks. We had some great experiences in and around Beijing. Hope you are enjoying the vlogs. 😀
How much do you pay for the duck?
I think it was about 20GBP
Rob & Jenny , not too bad.
Enjoy your trip🤞🏻Greeting from an international student of the University of Manchester😄

u can use some translate apps
We downloaded Google maps offline. Worked well 😀
What, if both of you become English Teachers in China since you are from the UK ?
It would be nice! but one of us needs to edit the vlogs! Rob is thinking of becoming an english teacher. :)
You asked for how to save money in China, I was going to say avoid big cities, especially places like Beijing and Shanghai, they are really really expensive. I think to live in those cities conformably need to earn at least 3 million Yuan a year which is something like 300k pounds a year.
4 days? wow!
yup :)
The Chinese National museum is huge.
Good tip! :)
beijing cool!!!
It's hot🔆
😂😂
great video again
Thanks :)
You can try a blue bicycle. It's better to ride, although it's a bit ugly. You can also buy a month card and ride for free within a month, which is very economical. But you may have to pay a deposit. Don't forget to refund it before you leave China.
Welcome to Beijing!
Thanks! :)

Almost every city in China has shared bicycles and dedicated bicycle lanes. Beijing's roads are wide and green, and cycling is good.
I found that the background of your homepage is the Great Wall, and the Great Wall must have left a deep impression on you.
Yes it really did! We are a little behind on editing vlogs, so the great wall vlog is still to come out! Today actually :) We hope you enjoy it! We had a lovely day there! :)
Amazing videos
Thanks!
not a complaint but why do people not film in 4k ?
it will take a million years to upload 4K to youtube with VPN in China, lol
thanks
We don't think it would add that much to our style and our camera doesnt film in 4k! :)
Rob is Ewan McGregor's sibling... perhaps...😄😄😄
Now THAT is a compliment! Jenny loves him! Haha
oh great ...
Thanks? 😃
I’d like to apologize in advance as I will have to take a long time of yours. it’s just that when u talked abt tiananmen in 89, from an ordinary westerners’s opinion, i could not help showing u some of Chinese version “stories”, though I understand that u r just one of the many many many westerners who has been informed the same story in the past. What the west so-called “independent” medias didn’t cover was the part why the tanks rolled into BEijing, and especially why not any of them showed the part what those so-called students n protesters had done n how barbarically they murdered the PLA young soldiers. Actually most of the soldiers were at their twenties’ just got out of the real war field. However, they got instructed for months not to confront the “students”n protesters n rioters. Being very very very disciplined even after they got cut open alive with intestines pulled out of their bellies, they still didn’t fight back even with the weapons by their side, as no order rcvd from above. They got burnt alive n their charring bodies were hanged in the city wall…when I first saw those photos, I think it actually changed my worldview abt how dark n twisted humans can be in the name of some disguised slogans. And till today I still have difficulties understanding what kind of self-discipline it took for some 20-year-old boys to not self-defense when their own lives were in serious danger, just becos they were in uniforms n not got permission to fight back? I blamed the gvmt as well for being too restrained until this soldiers sacrificed this miserable way... I cant imagine how desperate it was being murdered alive like that just little by little. those whoever did this to them r not students, not protesters, PURE monsters, animals. Actually by the time the tanks rolled in BJ, the fight was almost already over. Very few students were actually killed in the process, most died becos of the collateral damage from explosions n destructions in cities when extremists n police were fighting. The tanks r just a show of force, to tell the world CCP is not over thrown yet, especially to those countries behind who instigated all this to a shaky relatively new China with a total diff political system than the rest of the world. But, viola, China today.
Photos cencored by west medias for what happened b4 the gvmt took action

Videos by most western medias:
ua-cam.com/video/YeFzeNAHEhU/v-deo.html
West medias only showed the part before 1”39. Longer version of video of what actually happened to this guy:
ua-cam.com/video/GRb4VY2dU4c/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/9DEDqnQISqo/v-deo.html this video has been demonetized by UA-cam, like many “pro-China” foreign youtubers who r stigmatized as sponsored by the Chinese gvmt stuff.
I remember many years ago, I watched a video from some Spain journalist who was there in BJ reporting 89, he said he never saw tank running over men n tanks only came in pretty much after chaos. somehow i can’t find this video right now...but instead, this is what I just found...
ua-cam.com/video/7wvkw1JMpqk/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/2r4xhwtsc8Y/v-deo.html
Btw, Nancy pelosi was in BJ during the riots n involved in inciting the rioters n giving them political asylum in the US. She was found by the BJ police but becos she was American, she was held for a few days n then released.
I never experienced tiananmen nor know anyone who was there, but I hv 5 friends n university classmates in xinjiang, the mother of one of them actually experienced the terrorist booming. She suddenly cried loud in our office in Shanghai when she informed abt that terrorists bomb, luckily her mum wasn’t hurt n fled away quickly. So that’s why if u know any xinjiang ppl, actually most of them resented the west medias much much much more the rest Chinese ppl. xinjiang terrorism footages were always censored by west social medias with all kinds of reasons. And Chinese gvmt n media suck too sometimes in telling the “stories”, I always thought. I wrote too long already, so I will stop here. Basically always compare too sides of stories before jumping into conclusion. This is what I learned. I don’t know, China gvmt maybe “evil”, but definitely not more evil than nay of the rest of the countries. They never started a war or physically invade any countries, never dropped a bomb to other nations yet, like some other countries. So, the west r never fair to China or Chinese ppl.

We LOVED that duck! need some more now!
