- In celebration of the up-coming 30th anniversary of the opening of The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera with Universal Studios Florida (which will occur next June), I hereby present to you the (nearly) complete pre-show and full ride, showing nearly all of Yogi and Boo Boo's screens in the pre-show and the full audio/video of the main ride. Enjoy!
I wish Universal would've kept this as is. I hate when they just re-theme/re-dress an attraction to something else. We love the new, but we also LOVE the OLD. These were the cartoon characters my family and I grew up with!
To be fair most of the new generations would be confused

This was taped in 1994, so Bill was 84 and Joe was 83, meaning they were long retired by then.
Bill Hanna died in 2001 at the age of 91.
Joe Barbera died in 2006 at the age of 95.
RIP Bill and Joe, you two brought such an inspiration from the Boomers to the Millennials.

Actually it was 1990, and three weeks before the Jetsons movie came out. Says so on Wikipedia.
The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera ride at Universal Studios Florida, which opened softly on May 1st, and then officially on June 7th, 1990 and lasted until October 20th, 2002 (which would be replaced with a jimmy neutron ride), was made to promote the jetsons movie, which was released on Friday, July 6th, 1990.

It would seem Hanna-Barbera sure went the route Disney did with his own shows on TV and theme park.

That used to be Yogi’s big rescue at Mall of America since 2006 to 2007 when I was 12 years old.
Well, Dastardly got his wish. He and Muttley were the stars of the show since we saw them all throughout the ride.

It's such a shame that this attraction can only be viewed in this sort of quality. The tail end of my memories can remember the animation being so vibrant and clear in my mind - even if I was only about 4 or 5 when I got to see this. You just don't see 2-D animation much at all anymore and it truly is such a shame.
Some of the footage was filmed on my birthday, only 5 years before i was born.

dude the theme park in Japan opens in 2001 that doesn't feature those two but back to the future does before replaced by the Minion theme area
The reason why it closed cause in 1998 the ride’s attendance level was starting to dwindle, due to children not interested in Hannah Barbera cartoons anymore.
Was it always on 4:10-4:44 throughout until the ride started, or was it a black screen until it started?
