Thanks so much for showing the impact of Kokoda on our shared Australian history, my grandfather didn't talk about being there in New Guinea until the last few years of his life, men of that generation didn't 'talk' about emotional things, and some things can never be said in words. He would have shook Adam's hand (he was old class) and said he was proud of what Adam's making his life into. Following in his steps over the Kododa mountains, without being shot at and wondering if my children will grow up without a father, was confronting & oddly connecting. Lest we forget
Oh, Fraser, how wonderful! Bravo, you, and Adam! I watched this three times. Its subtle power crept up on me: how a troubled young man overcomes his downward spiral and not only survives but thrives. Just marvelous! The cinematography and editing were superb. My fav shot: the person in red sitting on the plateau overlooking the Papuan vista below. It doesn't hurt, either, that Adam's quite easy on the eyes, and that his smile lights up his face and our hearts. From the view of the room behind him in some of the shots, if that's his home, he's done very well. I say, again: Bravo!
Wow what a comment! Thanks for watching it so many times! Cinematography is a love of mine, and I try to handle it as much as I can while also writing, directing, producing and editing! Thanks for your endless support yet again :) tell your friends!!
I'll be sharing this in class to my Year 12's in their Lifelong learning class next year. Every body has a story and every story is worthy of being heard. Thank you Adam and Fraser for sharing yours
+May Marsh That's amazing to hear! I would love to hear how the class responded. A few schools showed my previous docu-film, 'Joel' - which you can find on this channel - to classes with great responses & discussions afterwards. Thanks so much for watching and I'm so happy you enjoyed it :)
Absolutely blown away by this - beautifully shot and produced, I feel so inspired just by watching it. Keep up the incredible work you ridiculously talented man. x
Fraser, I echo Calum's words. Life is a journey, and Adam showed us another path. He's an amazing young man, and an inspiration. Thank you for making this docu-film. You did a superb job; am utterly blown away. Keep making such wonderful videos. The one with Joel was equally amazing. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Wow, watching this opened my eyes a little wider and I can relate to a lot that he talked about in his life.. what an amazing story to hear. Thank you.
Some of Adam's story I could relate to my own life. It sounds like he got his life back on the right track at a younger age than I did. Adam seems like a really good dude. This documentary is so good. I love history and learned something new today. Thank you sir.
I'd love to see these profiles put together (with another or two more) as a full length documentary. They're so intimate and beautiful and important. Your style is distinctive-- the pacing and tone are similar in this one and McSwiggan-- and the voices you've chosen-- magical.
Absolutely fantastic guys! Inspirational short film. Should be proud of yourself Adam for getting where you are now. As should you Fraser, for making this.
this video would i discribe as a masterpiece. the editing, footage, story and best of all the message!! very well done! I will watch this every time i feel down or forgot my vision behind the reason why i make video's. Thank you my friend!
