When I play a Bard in DnD and if my DM wants me to do perform check to get free room and board at the town tavern I instead sing this song or the Drunken Sailor song.
Haven’t had to roll a check in months!
Sang this at the Celt in Dublin off O'Connell Street 5 years ago!
Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Genius, has to be the best drinking song ever invented?
Its so hard to sing along with words you've never heard before.
I was taught this song as a child (American). "Nipperkin and a brown bowl" was slurred to 'nipperkanimerabo." It worked.
There's only one way to listen to this song. With a bottle of Jameson Irish Whisky.
I "watched" it and enjoyed it very much! Thank you. :-)
I sing this song at a reinactment on a stage, infront of a whole bunch a drunks. Nobody beats drunks when it comes to enthusiasm.
Also functions as a drunk test cuz you'll know you've had enough when you can't sing it right anymore 😂😂
I used to do this a little different and would drink 7 guiness at the end of set of course but yea by the time I got to landlord it was messy
I can never manage a full pint of Guinness when I listen to this song... :(
i love Seamus Kennedy :D
This is so funny in person.
In Germany it's too expensive to drink it that fast..
thebiiiirn I don’t know where you live in Germany but I was there about a year ago and the alcohol was pretty cheap. Cheaper than pop half the time.

Seamus is a boss. How he can go so quickly from taking a favorable swig to singing is worthy of remark. I just drank the song with him. To my other American brothers, it takes a pint to do this song. In American thats 2 beers. I wish the US did beer in pints. I love this country; but damn, the Europeans got the memo with alc. measurements. 1 beer= 1 pint. ;)
