Dante Nemo Not necessarily. Not many people use RB26's in drift cars, there's just no point. Rb25 swaps are really popular, but an R32 GTS-t Type M has the RB20DETT, which is easily tuned to put out +300hp, which in most cases is more than enough to drift like this guy did, not to mention that it's lighter, already a RWD (so it's not as heavy at the front) and in Japan it's a much cheaper setup to go with, when it comes to drifting R32's.
Sami Mäkäräinen Rb20? Interesting...and yeah, you're right.....the rb26 isn't a very good choise for drifting because of its oil cooling problems. Many people use also rb30 combinations.

Dante Nemo I don't know much about the RB30's and their setups, i.e. I haven't read much about them and therefore do not know how popular they are. But I have heard about them being favored by people that love the N/A versions of RB engines. RB26's have oil cooling problems (like you said), water pump problems (if the person is still using the stock one), bearings failing, fuel pump breaking... These are very common with the RB26DETT, but it's hard to say that how many of these AREN'T caused by the fact, that most of the RB26's out there are already tuned. As stock, the RB26DETT is actually a damn good engine. It runs smooth, it's relatively quiet and standard maintenance is enough to keep it lasting for a long time. All engines fail eventually, when they are being pushed onto their limits and constantly abused. The biggest problem isn't the engine or the car parts themselves, it's the person who tunes the car and then abuses the crap out of it, not taking good enough care of it and not doing regular maintenance.
absolute joy to watch. the car , the action, the audio and the editing are all fantastic:)
