Kerry Ellis - Defying Gravity 22-05-08

[I've rephrased this in case people think I'm dissing the amazing Kerry :)]
This was bloody amazing. I've heard her do the "bring me down"s better before, but the rest of it is fcking awesome! :)

this is the cast i saw in london on my one and only visit to britain and i love kerry and i wish i could get her version of defying gravity because it totally leaves idina's in the dust

has anyone else noticed that recently kerry has been holding back on her performance, defying gravity especially?
like she's still amazing, and could kick nearly all other elphabas ass....but she doesn't belt as much or hold it on as much.
when i saw her a few weeks ago i was a bit like, not put out...but surprised she didn't growl on 'look to the western sky' and she didn't hold on her 'down's for very long.
is she saving herself for her broadway debut? think so.

Ah it was really good, not the best I've heard her either, but very good especially for a thursday night!

She had a scare recently didn't she, with the platform she flies on? Maybe since then she's still been a bit scared (I mean, who wouldn't be?) and has been holding back?
Going to see her tomorrow, (last night, aha!) so I hope she doesn't hold out then.
If anyone knows what time she arrives before the evening show I'd really appreciate it, because I want to give her a present ;)

im not judging by just this performance. i saw her a few weeks ago, and all the recordings from the past few months have been less full on for her (not saying they're bad at all...but kerry sets very high standards).
can't wait for her to blow away broadway.
show 'em how we brits rollllle ;) haha

after seeing it in broadway and listening to the soundtrack it sounds strange to hear it done in english accents :s i saw kerry ellis in new york and she did an amazing job! makes you proud that shes english and doing amazing in broadway!

Dianne's delivery is amazing. Especially the "Why couldn't you have just stayed calm for once instead of FLYING off the handle?" and the "...sweet oz." What a hilarious woman.
And Kerry is phenomenal, as always.
