I lived there shortly while with 2/11. Living in that building was sort of a rite of passage! The USAF FO's that trained with us claimed they got paid a "substandard living allowance" for having to stay there. Outside bathrooms and laundry, cracked floors, asbestos warnings every where, what's not to miss? I miss it all and sad to see it go. Lots of great people and memories. The quads that were shot by the Japanese were restored to the best of my knowledge. Thanks for a glimpse into the past!
Thanks. Great memories. Glad I could document this to share with everyone. I went by the old I Quad today and they are already starting construction of the new buildings. They dont wait long at all once they demolish. Aloha.
You will look back on that PT years from now and realize that it helped to mold you and shape your life. I am sure that you will get just as memorable PT no matter where your new barracks are at! HOOAH!!!!
Oh, I thought you meant they were bringing the buildings down. But I guess you meant they will still stand, but just get renovated. Thats good to know. I'm glad you took this video. Those were my barracks in 1988, A Battery 3/7 FA.
Wow! Many wonderful memories from Quad-I, I live in those Bks from 1975 to 1978 Svc Btry 2/11 FA I was 17 years old when I got there. (CRUIT!!!!). on my 18th Birthday I received a J-Walking Summons at Hotel st. Which was off limits to us. I paid dearly for that mistake..... Aloha!!
Mannheimshconau-Not sure about F Quad. I will take a look when I go to Schofield this weekend. Ill see if I can hook up some video for you. Thanks for the kudos!
B Quad is still there! They refinished them and updated everything. Looks very nice but still has the appearance of being the same style and look from years gone by.
Villarte-More videos to follow when I see more progress being made. 3/7 was still in those barracks from 1988 all the way up til their deployment to Iraq in 2006. Once they deployed, some MP's and others moved in but only for a short time. Everyone is out of those barracks now.
Sad man. I was at B quad (1/25 Avn) from 1989-91. Please tell me they are retro-fitting and not demolishing that building. Those old quads are beautiful.
Which one was I-Quad? I was a kid when there. I see from wikimapia that a parking lot has been built between B and C quads, behind the museum. That's where the Shoppette and the library were in the mid-'80s.
Sad to see this quad go... I was stationed there 98' thru 01'. Good times thire and hello to all of my fellow 13b's. On time - On target... Spc. Frizek
I never heard of the Hurricane Club. What year was that? I think 7/8 was relocated to Ft Lewis in the 1990's. I retired from 2-11 FA. Aloha Groverbuilt.
I remember the Quad back from 1979-1982. Many a P.T. drill , deployment to the field and other things rush through my mind. Such a shame they had to destroy it, the place survived Dec 7 1941 . Again such a shame.
HHS 2/11 Forward Observer, I remember playin Hurricane Iniki football in that grass in 1992 Many days of PT in that grass, to bad I couldn't of seen it again before it was tore down
Big memories for me as I watch my old barracks. Thank you and “On Time”!
I was a PFC assigned to Hq. Battery, 13th Artillery, 3 Battalion back in 1963 to 1965. Would love to visit Schofield sometime before I pass on.
You better go soon. You’re old AF

HHB 25th Division Artillery 1975-77. These were open barracks until about 6 months before I arrived Jan 75 when they turned them into rooms.
