Very useful! I often used to feel like I can't find enough variations on a rhythm and that I'm repeating myself, but I never thought about this concept. Thanks for sharing!
This is very cool Ken. This would be fun to try in a 4 beat cycle where you group the 8th notes into groupings 3 and 5. I also really like your usage of the snap and "pa" stroke at the same time. I've always used the muted snap stroke, but never pa and snap simultaneously.
I have spent a lot of money over the years on less expensive frame drums with natural and synthetic heads. Once I bought my Cooperman I stopped looking at other frame drums. Even their lowest price Glen Velez Hand Dance frame drum is great. It seems expensive, but when you end up buying 4-5 lower priced drums you realize you have spent more money than you would have on one single, but much better quality drum.
Hurrah! Clapping!! My brain is s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d... Thanks Ken

What a great lesson. I just came across this now. I don’t know how I have overlooked it for so long. Thanks for putting this out there Ken.
Thanks for the kind words. Glad it was helpful!
Lovely and elegant, as always, your teaching & playing, Ken.
Thanks! That means a lot coming from you, Patrick!
I love it! ♥
Thank you!
@@kenshorley Your teaching is very clear, very relaxed. I like that, being a music teacher myself. 🙂
@@anokatomichali That means a lot, thanks!

Glad you enjoyed it! It's interesting about the combined snap/pa stroke. I don't remember anyone showing me that, but it's something I do a lot!
Ken!!!!!!! This is awesome, I love this! Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks Max! I thought you might dig this!
wow...lots to play with there.. thanks Ken!!!
Thanks! Enjoy!
Your drum sounds amazing! What kind of animal skin is used ?
Thank you! It's not an animal skin actually. I'm playing a Cooperman tar with a synthetic Remo Renaissance head!

@@revkelly58 I agree! My feeling is that it's important to get a drum which is inspiring to play. And Cooperman drums never disappoint!
