Punch-Out!! (Wii) - Easter Eggs 1 (Regional Differences, Unused Animations, Glitches)

- In the first edition of Wii Punch-Out!! Easter Eggs, we'll cover some differences between versions across the world, some animations that aren't used in the final build of the game, and some glitches (with some having more "interesting" results than others).
Thanks so much for checking out this newer format I'm trying of compiling different topics into one video. If you prefer the videos in this style, a like or some other kind of feedback would be really useful. I hope you enjoyed the video :)
Note: a couple of clips featured show crowd members appearing very rectangular. This isn't any kind of version difference and was just me messing around with values.

Great video! I didn’t know there were numerical health values in this game. Would be interesting to see a list of everyone’s health and the damage of different attacks on the wiki

How else are they gonna calculate the health?
ALL games use numerical values for health/HP, some are just masked by the GUI or other graphics but numbers are always there lol.

14:58 A glitch so powerful it may have also created a “boundary braking at home” moment. Apparently even the ref’s head tracks the movements of the opposing boxer and I assume Little Mac as well.
Interesting video! The part were Don's Toupee fell off and the referee then kept watching them closely really caught me off guard 🤣 (I usually feel pretty bad for Don when his Toupee falls off, kinda regret laughing about it)
Also I found Don and Little Mac being frozen in time glitch funny 😀

He's just a fictional game character, he doesn't have any feelings to hurt. I don't regret laughing at all.
I really wish Bear Hugger had those windmill attacks in the final product.
still very much happy that Punch-Out in pretty much all its forms is still getting talked about! one of my favorite games growing up (which makes me sound old) and it's extremely worth the discussion and deep dives into the code and stuff. maybe one day somebody'll add back some of these unused animations and stuff and make a neat little patch out of it.

Considering we aren't gonna get a new installment anytime soon,it seems like we might have to get someone to mod the game to add these in. That might be fun.
The unused moves could be modded(with appropriate voicelines and fixed reactions) to make a new harder version of these characters.

And then if both of them hit I could imagine him saying: Hrah! Yrah!

i got the TD Bald Bull Glitch by accident when playing Exhibition Mode. I was just playing against him again to learn his patterns a bit more but when the next round started i realised that his Health was 0
Love how Bald Bull knocks *himself* out by punching Mac, hah

I thought this would be interesting to mention, but these punches at 4:02 seem to be inspired by Mad clown's werid chop/punch attack.

Honestly, Macho Man with fake-out punches while saying "Sike, baby" is actually a really fun idea.

You forgot another regional difference: In the American version, there's a chance that TD Soda Popinski will stay down on the sixth knockdown, resulting in a KO. In the European version, this feature is removed, meaning the player can only beat him by TKO or win by decision.

Honestly the bear hugger attack should be called the Saskatoon swing
The one thing I’ve always wanted to see in this game is as many of the fighters as possible KO’d via 10-count, I’ve only seen it on like one fighter ever. Obviously not possible on Hippo, but the others?
I loved this video, I didn’t even know about most of this stuff, I’d love to see more, maybe with other games, great stuff!

Few questions I would like to ask:
1. Can you see what happens when you use the "ultimate technique" on Bald Bull when your health is low?
2. What are the sources of the "There he is" and the "I think I know what you're getting at" voice clips?
Not sure about "There he is", but the second one's from Family Guy.

The ultimate technique refers to Mac throwing a Star Punch and getting hit at the same time. As you can guess, the game doesn't know how to react to this instance and breaks a bit.
For starters, when Mac star punches TD Bald Bull, Bull goes down, but the knockdown isn't counted. Yet. When Mac scores another knockdown, *then* the first one is counted along with the second, making it seem like the game pays you back with two knockdowns. (In reality, the first knock down is counted internally, but the visual animation doesn't play)
It also makes Mac immune to getting tired (as long as he's induced in that state by repeatedly hitting an opponents block), as long as he doesn't: Finish a stun, get hit, or land a Star Punch.
The refree is having a good time watching Don and Mac fight
The credit's logos are build into the game's movie, which is why they didn't change it into the Chinese ones.

I just realized how similar Little Mac is to the Rush style from the Yakuza games. Quick jabs with not too much power, but chained together they're a weapon of mass destruction.

First of all, let me get something straight: This is a JOURNAL, not a diary. Yeah, I know what it says on the cover, but when my Mom went out to buy this thing I SPECIFICALLY told her not to buy one that said "diary' on it. This just proves Mom doesn't understand anything about kids my age.
