OH I THINK I FIGURED IT OUT cuz at that point in time you cannot eliminate the possiblity of a TBI: "in cases of suspected traumatic brain injury or other skull injuries, use an oropharyngeal airway! These patients are at risk of an ethmoid bone fracture, which means there is a risk that the airway tube, when inserted through the nose, could enter the cranial cavity."
Excellent presentation. Calm, professional first responder. Hand off good as vital info is all that is needed.
Excellent presentation, well done
crazy how they found a live patient for this 🤣
really helpful with my practice at home.
Wouldn’t you apply a NPA once you triggered the gag reflex with an OPA?
That has recently changed for the EMR level is my understanding
thinking the same thing

@@XIII306 sounds valid. I think you’re right!
In Ohio, EMR are not allowed to test glucose. We would need at least a Basic for that. We can deliver a baby, but not check glucose.
Great presentation
you cannot initially rule out spinal because you don't know the mechanism of injury...no?
Realistically could of done a jaw thrust but at the same time it is a suspected overdose and not trauma related as far as any indications show.
Since when could an EMR do the same if not more than an EMT?
Good vid
Why’d bro agree to this
