I'll be honest with yah, this scene really makes me laugh so hard, dunno why, but it's probably because of the way the shaved-up Spongebob looks and smiles directly at you, it's kind of unsettling and pretty funny at the same time.
It’s a shame Nickelodeon didn’t use this in the final product because it would’ve been too terrifying to younger viewers, but at least they kept the horsefly closeups in Wormy.
That is true that young viewers (any aged kid) gets scared easily bc any aged kid gets scared easily like my siblings & I got scared of Scooby-Doo, sitting on Santa’s lap, and Ghotbusters when we were little
I don't get it; how much more scary is it than how he is shown in the final production? I say it was deleted because it made for better comedic timing.
@@DirectorOfChaos9292 And I don't blame Patrick for getting scared and running too considering he didn't know how much he needed to shave his friend to make him scary.
This gives me the same vibe as the random girl during the “subliminal message” montage in the episode Gary takes a bath. I would’ve been terrified of this as a child for some time.
Hahahahaaaaaa he maybe look scared than, but he also look half scary and half funny thing and it almost look like a squidward son or jr I guess but he look funny at all time what I remember I was a little kid since hundred year at go but I didn’t see a deleted scene only plan scene and now I saw on the size of the deleted scene on UA-cam and thank you 😊 very much.
Before you read I just wanna say please do not delete this comment again I can understand why you thought it played like this and I am in no way shape or form trying to offend you. I thought the same thing too, but then I found it kinda off considering a UA-camr said that the screen would fade to black after the close up was shown, which made me think it was an alternate ending. I just wanna share my version because I think it makes more sense because it gives SpongeBob a reason to smile. Anyways here is my version: ua-cam.com/video/zPy8K2WTNCE/v-deo.htmlsi=VGPCUumq4MT7ZyQF Thank you! Keep up the good work! Update: The close up being too scary for kids was most likely why it was deleted/changed. Not for comedic timing. Then again, we are getting close ups scarier than this nowadays. If they used it in the episode but kept the ending we got in the Final Cut they should’ve put it after SpongeBob says “Hey what ya know, I scared him!!! Bahahahaha!!!”. Which is what I did in my video. Update 2: So the storyboard was found and it turns out after the Dutchman pulls of SpongeBob’s costume, instead of smiling he has a blank stare and his brain beats. And it was supposed to be used after Patrick screams running instead of SpongeBob saying “Don’t worry it grows back!”. This makes way more sense and SpongeBob’s blank stare is hilarious. They probably got rid of that scene cause it would seem funnier if it was shown by surprise
You mean horrifying yeah I agree
No. It’s lame. Adding this scene would’ve been hilarious and funnier.
I like the final version better it's more funny when it's not revealed yet until afterwards lol.

Yeah this ruins the surprise reveal

No. This should’ve been left in the Final Cut. Revealing it this way makes it traditional SpongeBob episode.

Yes
We would’ve had nightmares as kids if that close up was in the final version! Then again, there was also Wormy, which may have caused fears of bugs!
And not to mention in WhoBob WhatPants that infamous face.

lol, nick rally wanted to scare young viewers.
I hate double standards. But I think this one was for a good reason. It took away the punchline as to why he was afraid of SpongeBob’s current look.

If they showed this in the final version, it would’ve give kids nightmares.
I thought the episode was originally supposed to just end with this image and fade to black. Honestly that would’ve made it a creepy ending for sure.
I kinda expected it to be after SpongeBob's line of "Hey! What do you know! I scared him! **Laughs*"*
The poor Dutchman had to see his brain.
