My female hamster named Strawberry is a long-haired syrian hamster. her fur has the colour of cream and is white banded. When she was little she had a lil bit red eyes. Now she is 8 months old and has completely black eyes. I want so ask you. Is it normal that my hamster's weight is 178 grams? Isn't it's too much?

The long haired female at the 0:34 time line...she looks most like my favorite hamster. Mine had cream on her face and two brown/grey swatches on her cheeks like blush. She was a sweetie but I started out with the standard golden short haired. I have also had white mice...they're all so cute!

Fantastic video. I love learning about hamsters & the variety of their colours & patterns. Their wonderful pets. I love the that they all have their own character/personality. I've had some close bonds with some of mine. I currenty have a black male & a black eyed cream female. Separate enclosures obviously. I don't think i could pick a favourite colour. I do have a soft spot for black ones. Im currently on my 2nd . Hamster love 🐹❤

Hi I have a hamster and he’s been so jumpy and easily scared ever since I got him. He has improved, but I still don’t feel comfortable picking him up. What do I do?

Good luck
Try putting your scent on toilet paper by rubbing it on your clothes or sleeping with them in your clothes and put it in his bin to acclimate him to your scent. Don’t do this after using scented or harmful products on your skin. You can read to him, or just talk to him as much as you can in a calm and even tone. This will get him used to your voice. Lots and lots of treats. Make sure to not try to grab him from above or from head on. Petting them coming from behind the head, and scooping them up is better to start with when they’re still not sure about you. Any other questions and I can help.
