That little incident is unfortunate. Everyplace in the world you will find odd ones like that. So don't let him messed up your otherwise wonderful time in Jamaica. Also, there were lots more to see in Spanish Town, but Spanish Town is not like those communities you visited in Kingston. It is a very huge town, therefore the kind of intimacy you found in Trench Town, for example, wouldn't be present there.
In my opinion the Spaniards that came to Jamaica was very evilous so they shouldn't have honored them with a town in there name if I was the president I'd change the name to English town.
I've been living part time in Jamaica since February 2020. I'm originally from France,my wife is Jamaican. I think we eat KFC as a family maybe 3 or 4 times a month.....The kids however eats it multiple times for the week...They love it.

This is my area and the people are friendly once they get to know you. Most of the people walking around might not be from the area but passing through for work and school. Spanish Town got a lot to offer but the government doesn't want to improve the area and inject money to the local people to help the communities. These guys are telling the truth Spanish Town is a lovely place to live and people don't bother you unless there's an election coming up and the party dem starts their conflict. I left Jamaica when I was 19 and went back after 25 years and I can tell you I walked around as if I didn't leave and no one bothered me. I'm from Old Market Street and French Street and I'm a proud ghetto girl with a PhD in Criminology and Psychological Studies. I go back home every year and speak to young men and women on crime and how it can affect their mental health and make them feel trapped in their situation. I love my country and am proud to be Jamaican. Considering Andrew Holiness comes from my area on Cumberland Road and he can do more for the local people, it's very sad to see the area dilapidated like that. Young men and women don't give up, things will get better 🙏🏽🇯🇲🇯🇲

I live in England but am from Spanish Town and I like where I lived in Spanish Town and really enjoyed my time there , I must admit there are good and bad places and people just like anywhere in the world but it is down to how you carry yourself and the approach you have

Big up yuh self for this video Chris. I was born in Saint Elizabeth and been living outside of Spanish Town for years now. The government and parish council needs to clean up Spanish Town and let it be a tourist attraction like it was once so tourist can pass through on a daily basis because Spanish Town has a lot of heritage sites just like Kingston and Mobay.
The original inhabitants of Jamaica were known as Arawaks who came from south America over some 2 thousand odd years ago i learned this in 4th form ( year ten ) in history and they named the island Xaymaca. i would have to goggle to find out more as iv forgotten basically everything else but ya they were the original native people of the island known now as Jamaica now.
There was the Tiano Indians too, yet some history books tells u it was Chris Colombus who discovered Ja after enslaving n killing all the native inhabitants they found there!

Last week I took a mini van from Mo Bay to 3 Miles, taxi to Halfway Tree to meet a friend I met in UK & a cousin @ Devon House for 🍦 , MV to the Waterfront, National Museum, meal @KFC, walk through Market, on a MV back to Mo Bay, will go ST next time, I fulljoyed my little 🏝🥳🥳🥳❤❤💫💫
