QB I think you are doing great editing here, instead of putting just a whole battle in which many of times are not showcasing the key traits of the vehicle, this form of editing is great at showing different aspects of the vehicle. Having said that, a typical battle in full length is still great as the final course. Thank you QB, you bring us great enjoyment.

i like the tornvagn though. the first premium tank in ages that does in no way conform to the faster-and-faster meta we are currently experiencing. currently it is who is yoloing first and whos yolo is the most effective. this tank is basically anti yolo. it lives it all slowly and steadily
True, but it's down to personal preference. But it does add to the insane armor meta, not the faster meta. I have the ts 5, a similar tank in terms of weird armor and bad gun handling, but it's still op.
This tank actually sounds like an Arty replacement to slow a whole flank attack down - Mmmmmmm. thinks hard. VERY useful in well commanded Clan battles.
I would definitely drop cents in favor of vert stabs. Vents are great because they bump up everything, but only a very small amount and this tank has some serious deficiencies that need a lot more than just a little help. I would gladly give up the 10 meters view range to be able to improve gun handling and connect more shots.
I must say, this thing seems relatively 'lackluster' which is a good thing. In a lot of ways it reminds me of the T32/T34 indeed, incredible turret armor but a lot of sacrifices to get to that part. Considering a lot of people will want this tank, it's good to see it's not the new flavor of the month OP premium.
They finally release a somewhat balanced tank and qb relentlessly lays in to it. This thing would be totally broken if it had more speed, or better dpm, or accuracy or anything else he talks about
This Tornvagn is an exquisitely good tank for an awful player. Average players might appreciate it too, but good players put too much value in speed and firepower.
I don't think that was the point he was making. His summary at the end regarding pretty boring one-trick-pony to play in and a nightmare to play against if the player digs in, is really the objection here.

It's one of those tanks that is shit to play and shit to play against. A tank that has a 50/50 chance of exploding itself or a random guy on the enemy team--that's balanced. Is it fun? Probably not.
In my opinion, this is a real heavy tank. The tank makes sense to have the heavy class asignment. I know the tank is gonna be good at being hulldown and that’s fine since it doesn’t get anything better in any catagory. Look at the tanks that have the same mechanic as this: - Concept 1B has mobility, good gun handling, good DPM and good view range. - T95/FV4201 Chieftain basically has everything in one. These are all super good. Other tanks at the same tier as this one that also shares the same feature: - Caernarvon/Caernarvon AX has the hulldown capabilities, good gun and mobility. - T32 has basically the same as the Caernarvon, good hulldown capabilities and good mobility. However, there is the one that fits really well with the Bofors Tornvagn that QB did show in his video - the T34. The T34 fills in almost all check marks: - Same DPM. - Same Penetrations. - Overall same gun handling, even if it doesn’t look like it. - Same hulldown capabilities. - Mostly the same mobility as well. Also I know the turret has weakspots on top with the whole overmatching thing, yes I know. That’s not all there is. Now…how often do we even see T34s anymore? Rarely I’d presume. So why would this new tank hurt anymore that the T34 already does? I’ll say it again. It’s only in my opinion and I don’t say that I am 100% correct on what I have written. Everyone has right to their own. TL:DR - From my standpoint, I think the tank is actually okay and not stupid op. Basically a new T34 in my eyes. Here is a cookie 🍪 and some milk 🥛.

But most prototype tanks in WOT aren’t really bad in most characteristics and epic in a few, but good at almost all, making them superior. So Tornvagn seems rather balanced. But as this tank is so hull down meta, it could be game damaging.
Genuine question QB. Why is view range so crucial on this and heavies in general? I understand wanting to be able to spot, but considering this vehicles stays at relatively close range and will still be out spoted when a light/med knows what their doing. Is it really worth dropping vertical stabs? Also the chapters are a nice touch.
Generally you either get 5-15 matches, 15-5 matches or 10-10 where you have to actually do more than just sit in the same spot and wait for opponents. If you get in a 10-10 matchup where you need to move, you need the spot range or you're effectively useless since you'll get smacked to death before even seeing them.
Without view range you have to rely on your team more. In most matches you will be able to keep at close range, but in those matches where that is not possible and you have nobody spotting for you, view range will be the game winning stat...
When you only have something like 400m or so and you do end up alone on a flank or the last one standing you really are at a disadvantage and even mediums can stay unspotted when shooting at you. This used to happen quite a bit back in the day before the viewrange creep and it can make you completely helpless if the other player knows what hes doing. On the other hand, how often does that actually happen. Open map, alone in a heavy, the enemy having a clue etc. As long as you have a team mate around or are on a city map you'll manage just fine. And virt stabs will always be a bennefit and make the tank a lot less frustrating. In my opinion it is at least worth it to try to use the virt stabs a bit. It is a trade off either way.
@@inlovewithgoats1092 yeah, you think that is a good development? In the end equipment also is another balancing mechanic that they removed from the game. It forced players to make choices. Optimise for one sort of map and playstyle and end up weaker on the other ones, or do you go for an allround setup and give up specific advantages on specific maps. To me this is just another form of power creep. Same goes for the turbos. The tanks speed and low mobility is also a major part of its balancing, giving up speed also gave you some advantage somewhere else in return, usually armor. All this stuff is why balancing in the game is such a mess and power creep is becomming a major issue. Anyway, thats my point of view. It is what it is i guess.
This might come back to bite me, but... somehow this might not be a broken tank for once? Maybe the DPM and speed are just bad enough to balance out the fact that it has no turret weakspot? I still don't think that we really needed more hulldown tanks, but I feel like this is a better direction for balancing tanks.

pen loss only applies to kinetic rounds- AP, APCR, APHE- NOT to chemical rounds like HE(yeah good luck using this after the nerf), HESH and HEAT(usually gold rounds on tanks)

With your large boxes review video, you encouraged me to buy 11 of those bad bois. I wasn't expecting anything special but ended up getting the 122TM from the first box KEKW
For some reason or another I found this video style/format absolutely enjoyable! Typically I find the tank reviews a tad drab just because all the information and such, but the way this was laid it it just grabbed and kept my attention.
The reviews are always informative and I like the tanks gg armor views. Knowing I'm buying boxes and not knowing which new prem I might get, at least got a better idea on playing this. Which will be not often if I get it. I don't like slow that much either. Will no doubt watch other reviews. Saw an NA CC get an Ace with this one. However that CC isn't a great fan of this tank over all.
It's not unthinkable that WG nerfed HE rounds in order to be able to release hull down heavies with no turret weakspots. I wouldn't be surprised we'll get a tier 8 prem. artillery sometime later to counter these new heavies.
I think that bounty aiming unit + vents + rammer would be a good idea, I guess you just gotta deal with the slow speed and low view range like a superheavy would
I was wondering if a completely unusual equipment load might transform this tank; e.g. aiming device, rotation device, turbo? It's still not going to be a Renegade, but maybe instead of trying to enhance what this tank does well, maybe this tank is one where you have to try to fix the things it doesn't do well?
@@MountainGanesh WIth the way the tank is, you just gotta dedicate everything for the gun. No turbo, no grousers, no optics. You can't afford to try a speed and view range build. It is going to be as slow and blind as a superheavy. But by going rammer, aiming unit and vents, your gun will at least work better even if nothing else does

I suppose if your having problems doing a damage blocked mission this tank will be a viable option. Unless arty is focused on you. In that instance arts op mechanics will erase you with ease.

Now the HE changes make so much more sense. With the old system one could at least damage this tank, when it's hull down, reliably. Not anymore. WG apparently did not like the thought of not having a crazy OP vehicle this Christmas...
Y'know QB, for a tank that has excellent frontal sponge and has the edge on the ridge line, having a bad firepower, mobility and view range, it ain't so bad. Or maybe I'm just too happy that WG brought a balanced Premium tank for once and not just some braindead Concept 1B or Defender. Sure it's not up to the meta currently but let's just give WG a cookie for an attempt to make a premium tank balanced. Like we're always blaming WG for making the game unbalanced but don't forget that sometimes WG listens to their community for the worse as well. Can we just encourage WG to make more tanks like this statwise and not just premium tanks that have higher stats than average?
I'm not too happy about it either, but as I see QB playing with it, they have done a good job of balancing it. At least it has low dpm, speed, accuracy and view range. Progettos, bourrasqes and skorpions make tier 8 much more miserable, because they are a lot more accurate and they can appear anywhere.

I can't play my slower heavy tanks, bc very often the enemy picks out all of my softer teammates and finally ambush me all at once and i cant reposition. Thats at least 1 of 3 games in a 60 tp.

With the way the mantlet is shaped, could a round ricochet off the lower curve thru the deck armour? It'd be a very low chance shot, but maybe something if no other way to dig it out or flank it.

I was interested in this tank cus I love the visual design but again thank you QB for the review. Good to know if I get this it will end up probably just sitting in the garage for 90% of the time.
I don't really know what WG is doing, are they planning to self-destroy their game or what? So many OP premium tanks, reward tanks and so on that have come in the past 2 years are so overpowered against tech tree tanks, you've no chance fighting 279e, Concept1B, T95/FV4201 Chieftain or this thing whatever this square head tank is, that's not funny and I hope this won't continue :/
Look at the positive side of things. At least this tank isn't a straight up OP vehicle, with awesome mobility, armor and decent DPM. Tornvagn is kinda unique and novel as it should be for tanks you would have to gamble for. I don't know, I do not wish to open this tank, but I feel like this tank is better to have in lootboxes then IS3 A was back in the days.

@@askkutay I mean... with that kind of gun, the tank itself is pure bait. You shoot once every 15s for 400alpha, and you hope to be more useful by having people try to shoot at you. Imagine if instead of this, you had a caernarvon. It's pretty balanced. If people shoot at you, it's overpowered, if people ignore you, it's pure crap. It is what it is. Honestly i'd much prefer if all tanks were like this; with well defined strengths and weaknesses instead of the monstrosities that occur from the powercreep.
@@askkutay I used week points, the word wickedness would be more adapted, if the turret is slightly turned, there's a shot on the first plate, on flat terrain, there is the back plate, and it can be "Easily" flanked or all in. Will still be OP on riges frontally

Blow out games will keep happening as long as there are tanks that do craptons of DMG in 1-2 shots like pretty much all autoloaders, FV4005.etc. Unfortunately as soon as you make a slight mistake (meaning you're trying to push) you get punished by these and deleted in 0.5 sec.
Question: Does the reduction in Penetration at distance happen at certain interval(s) (500m), or is it a smooth function? Like does my pen drop suddenly from 499m to 501m? Or does it start dropping slowly from when it leaves the barrel?

People here whining it's gonna become a t8 chieftain: no. That's simply not gonna happen. Chief has great mobility, dpm and gun handling which the Tornvagn all hasn't. In fact the Tornvagn is worst in class in these 3 characteristics. Most scenarios shown by QB work with a T32 too, although it has bad pen in which case you use gold rounds. And the T32 is enjoyable to play unlike this thing because it can actually hit shots and doesn't reload for what feels like an eternity.
He said that it was too slow to get into a fun position before the game was already decided. An EBR can spot it in 30 seconds, well before it can get hull down.
Before you read all the REEEEEE OPOPOPOP, Just ask yourself how many times you thought the T34 was OP just because on a ridge it's basically unpennable
So the skoda t27 that’s for sale today. If it instead had 280 alpha per shot for 3 shots I feel that would balance it out with the privet to that you compared it to 2 years ago and it’s not to much alpha like tier 9 & 10 but it’s also not to little. Your thoughts?
I just got it yesterday, and enjoy it a lot so far. It's not crazy strong, but it's unique enough for it to be a worthwhile purchase, especially compared to the rest of the Swedish tree. Although gameplay is usually pretty slow and boring since you're best hull down to draw fire away or hold off a lane. But when you're in the mood to be particularly tanky this is a solid option.
Any ideas what's happening on Wotreplays server? They seem to have A LOT of problems lately - error messages (505 and replays go "missing" while uploading), replays not showing up and search doesn't work properly.
Just push the tank if it sits in the right position. It does not have the DPM to take of your tracks twice. So you get it’s side like the bourrasque did in the end.

The 122TM, Astron Rex, T42, T56, Charlemagne and Turtle are not very fast and they're all fairly recent.

If you get in a 10-10 matchup where you need to move, you need the spot range or you're effectively useless since you'll get smacked to death before even seeing them.
Without view range you have to rely on your team more. In most matches you will be able to keep at close range, but in those matches where that is not possible and you have nobody spotting for you, view range will be the game winning stat...
When you only have something like 400m or so and you do end up alone on a flank or the last one standing you really are at a disadvantage and even mediums can stay unspotted when shooting at you.
This used to happen quite a bit back in the day before the viewrange creep and it can make you completely helpless if the other player knows what hes doing.
On the other hand, how often does that actually happen. Open map, alone in a heavy, the enemy having a clue etc.
As long as you have a team mate around or are on a city map you'll manage just fine. And virt stabs will always be a bennefit and make the tank a lot less frustrating.
In my opinion it is at least worth it to try to use the virt stabs a bit. It is a trade off either way.

In the end equipment also is another balancing mechanic that they removed from the game.
It forced players to make choices. Optimise for one sort of map and playstyle and end up weaker on the other ones, or do you go for an allround setup and give up specific advantages on specific maps.
To me this is just another form of power creep. Same goes for the turbos.
The tanks speed and low mobility is also a major part of its balancing, giving up speed also gave you some advantage somewhere else in return, usually armor.
All this stuff is why balancing in the game is such a mess and power creep is becomming a major issue.
Anyway, thats my point of view.

This might come back to bite me, but... somehow this might not be a broken tank for once? Maybe the DPM and speed are just bad enough to balance out the fact that it has no turret weakspot?
I still don't think that we really needed more hulldown tanks, but I feel like this is a better direction for balancing tanks.

This tank perfectly matches the current meta - just sitting somewhere and camping until your team is doing something for you - otherwise you call them bots and leave the game if you couldn‘t deal your 1600dmg
basically. its weird to see vehicles whos meta was Originally sidescrape or so. Hell, just looks at the 113, or T110E5 or T62A, forgotten, extemly powerfulll tanks except they dont have 10+ degrees of gun depresion.

pen loss only applies to kinetic rounds- AP, APCR, APHE- NOT to chemical rounds like HE(yeah good luck using this after the nerf), HESH and HEAT(usually gold rounds on tanks)

ironically tornvagn is absolutely terrifying in blitz, probably because of the small map and the super heavy meta

For some reason or another I found this video style/format absolutely enjoyable! Typically I find the tank reviews a tad drab just because all the information and such, but the way this was laid it it just grabbed and kept my attention.
The reviews are always informative and I like the tanks gg armor views. Knowing I'm buying boxes and not knowing which new prem I might get, at least got a better idea on playing this. Which will be not often if I get it. I don't like slow that much either. Will no doubt watch other reviews.
Saw an NA CC get an Ace with this one. However that CC isn't a great fan of this tank over all.
It's not unthinkable that WG nerfed HE rounds in order to be able to release hull down heavies with no turret weakspots. I wouldn't be surprised we'll get a tier 8 prem. artillery sometime later to counter these new heavies.

It's still not going to be a Renegade, but maybe instead of trying to enhance what this tank does well, maybe this tank is one where you have to try to fix the things it doesn't do well?
@@MountainGanesh WIth the way the tank is, you just gotta dedicate everything for the gun. No turbo, no grousers, no optics. You can't afford to try a speed and view range build. It is going to be as slow and blind as a superheavy. But by going rammer, aiming unit and vents, your gun will at least work better even if nothing else does

I suppose if your having problems doing a damage blocked mission this tank will be a viable option. Unless arty is focused on you. In that instance arts op mechanics will erase you with ease.

Now the HE changes make so much more sense. With the old system one could at least damage this tank, when it's hull down, reliably. Not anymore. WG apparently did not like the thought of not having a crazy OP vehicle this Christmas...

Y'know QB, for a tank that has excellent frontal sponge and has the edge on the ridge line, having a bad firepower, mobility and view range, it ain't so bad.
Or maybe I'm just too happy that WG brought a balanced Premium tank for once and not just some braindead Concept 1B or Defender.
Sure it's not up to the meta currently but let's just give WG a cookie for an attempt to make a premium tank balanced. Like we're always blaming WG for making the game unbalanced but don't forget that sometimes WG listens to their community for the worse as well. Can we just encourage WG to make more tanks like this statwise and not just premium tanks that have higher stats than average?

I'm not too happy about it either, but as I see QB playing with it, they have done a good job of balancing it. At least it has low dpm, speed, accuracy and view range. Progettos, bourrasqes and skorpions make tier 8 much more miserable, because they are a lot more accurate and they can appear anywhere.

I can't play my slower heavy tanks, bc very often the enemy picks out all of my softer teammates and finally ambush me all at once and i cant reposition. Thats at least 1 of 3 games in a 60 tp.

Look at the positive side of things. At least this tank isn't a straight up OP vehicle, with awesome mobility, armor and decent DPM. Tornvagn is kinda unique and novel as it should be for tanks you would have to gamble for. I don't know, I do not wish to open this tank, but I feel like this tank is better to have in lootboxes then IS3 A was back in the days.

It's pretty balanced. If people shoot at you, it's overpowered, if people ignore you, it's pure crap.
It is what it is. Honestly i'd much prefer if all tanks were like this; with well defined strengths and weaknesses instead of the monstrosities that occur from the powercreep.
@@askkutay I used week points, the word wickedness would be more adapted, if the turret is slightly turned, there's a shot on the first plate, on flat terrain, there is the back plate, and it can be "Easily" flanked or all in. Will still be OP on riges frontally

Blow out games will keep happening as long as there are tanks that do craptons of DMG in 1-2 shots like pretty much all autoloaders, FV4005.etc. Unfortunately as soon as you make a slight mistake (meaning you're trying to push) you get punished by these and deleted in 0.5 sec.

Question: Does the reduction in Penetration at distance happen at certain interval(s) (500m), or is it a smooth function? Like does my pen drop suddenly from 499m to 501m? Or does it start dropping slowly from when it leaves the barrel?

People here whining it's gonna become a t8 chieftain: no. That's simply not gonna happen. Chief has great mobility, dpm and gun handling which the Tornvagn all hasn't. In fact the Tornvagn is worst in class in these 3 characteristics. Most scenarios shown by QB work with a T32 too, although it has bad pen in which case you use gold rounds. And the T32 is enjoyable to play unlike this thing because it can actually hit shots and doesn't reload for what feels like an eternity.
QB: "This game is getting faster and faster and I don't like it."
Also QB: "This tank is boring. It needs to be faster."

He said that it was too slow to get into a fun position before the game was already decided. An EBR can spot it in 30 seconds, well before it can get hull down.
why does this have more health then the t 34 ? for what reason ? its smaller and isnt size the parameter they said that adjusts hp.

So the skoda t27 that’s for sale today. If it instead had 280 alpha per shot for 3 shots I feel that would balance it out with the privet to that you compared it to 2 years ago and it’s not to much alpha like tier 9 & 10 but it’s also not to little. Your thoughts?

I just got it yesterday, and enjoy it a lot so far.
It's not crazy strong, but it's unique enough for it to be a worthwhile purchase, especially compared to the rest of the Swedish tree. Although gameplay is usually pretty slow and boring since you're best hull down to draw fire away or hold off a lane. But when you're in the mood to be particularly tanky this is a solid option.
Well done QB, the pronunciation on the two first "tornvagn" is probably as good as it can get without actually learning swedish!

Any ideas what's happening on Wotreplays server? They seem to have A LOT of problems lately - error messages (505 and replays go "missing" while uploading), replays not showing up and search doesn't work properly.
Just push the tank if it sits in the right position. It does not have the DPM to take of your tracks twice. So you get it’s side like the bourrasque did in the end.
For myself, I hope to get this one. They all look pretty good, but I like to play hull down anyway.
