While not a hugely known haunted house, The Jenny Wade house in Gettysburg Pennsylvania is pretty damn creepy. The reason it's so haunted is because Jenny Wade (hence the name) was killed inside of it during the Civil War. She was shot in the back through two separate doors by a stray bullet. Many people who have lived there over the years (before it was made into a ghost tours sight) have given reports of hearing shouting and people coming up the stairs, as well as footsteps (cuz let's be honest, no haunted house is complete without footsteps). The reason for this is because after she was killed, two soldiers, as well as Jenny's father, sister, mother, and nephews had decided to move her to the basement under the house, but there was one problem, they couldn't just go out and around the house to get to the other side, because A.) the Confederates were shooting toward the house, and B.) the house was one of those houses that is separated into two different homes, so there was no door in the house that led to the other side, where the basement doors were. The soldiers started freaking out because they didn't have a way to move the body or the others to safety, where the yelling comes in. They decided to go up the stairs, and break a hole in the wall with their rifles just big enough to slip through, hence the banging noises and the people coming up the stairs. Long story short, they made it to the basement with Jenny's body. Some of the things the tour guide described as ghostly presences were things like the smell of Jenny's perfume, or rattling noises and footsteps. While walking through ten house, at one point a few of the people in our Scout Troop (including me) heard the sink rattling, for no reason. It wasn't on, and no one touched it. Another thing was perfume, we could smell it upstairs. The las weird thing that happened was something that happened to my brother. Towards the end of the tour, he seemed to move his hand away from something, and he was very pale, he looked at me, and after wards he told me it had felt like something tried to hold his hand. I'm not entirely sure I believe him, but he was pretty pale and spooked. Also, totally unrelated but they had a mannequin set up in the basement to look like Jenny's body that had been payed down in there and covered by a blanket, and it was really creepy. Also while we were down there the painting that illustrated the family in the basement rattled in its glass case

@@21jonesky it is possible because the appendix is not so far down in your abdomen and it can swell quite a lot due to appendicitis. Not so unusual. Perhaps the doctor was not very good and her appendix ruptured into her abdominal cavity? Or maybe he was not good at keeping his instruments and hands sterile/clean.

I have actually went to Rose Hall, it was really cool and it was nice to hear about the history and walk around the house and all that. but I was really let down, the cool part was they didn't let you go until after Dark but actually being in there I couldn't tell if it was haunted or not. I couldn't feel any Spirits walking around or anything there was way too many people in there working for me to feel anything. there were actors, lots of them, dressed as ghosts and they walk in and out of rooms and stuff. and the tour guide was clearly acting cuz he did not do a good job at it. And then there was a girl who was dressed up as the "White Witch" and she was like sitting in a chair walking around to the balcony and stuff. there was just so much going on that I couldn't feel anything in there. I would love to stay there for a while without the staff members and see what I feel then, but there was just far too much going on. there was also more than one tour and you can hear sometimes what they were doing which is the same as what you'd be doing later. also some of it was really predictable we walked into a room and there was a chest and I was like "something is going to jump out of that chest" and sure enough something did everyone's like oh you were right.

My mother and her siblings used to live in several haunted houses back in the 80's or 90's. She told stories about how a woman used to try to lure my Uncle into the cow pond but, before she could my mom or Granddad would stop him. My uncle refused to go inside alone because he would hear a female voice from what I remember being told. One was bad enough that my Grandpa ran into my mom and aunts room and got on his knees praying. Mom said before that neither her, or my aunt could move. She said that she was scared and everything was cold. Once her dad started praying the thing that had them was gone

Yes, Amityville is a proven hoax. Just fools that believe all the crappy movies about it think it's true. Even the Warren's had changed their tune some years later about the house. In fact there was a documentary about it in the mid-to-late 80's, where on camera Loraine Warren said that either the Lutz made everything up or it was just a case of N.E.R. (Negative Energy Residue). The house had a change of owners over the years, not because of ghost, demons, angry Indians, or a "green glowing pig with red eyes, but because onlookers bothering/harassing them. I couldn't feel any Spirits walking around or anything there was way too many people in there working for me to feel anything. there were actors, lots of them, dressed as ghosts and they walk in and out of rooms and stuff. and the tour guide was clearly acting cuz he did not do a good job at it. And then there was a girl who was dressed up as the "White Witch" and she was like sitting in a chair walking around to the balcony and stuff. there was just so much going on that I couldn't feel anything in there. I would love to stay there for a while without the staff members and see what I feel then, but there was just far too much going on. there was also more than one tour and you can hear sometimes what they were doing which is the same as what you'd be doing later. also some of it was really predictable we walked into a room and there was a chest and I was like "something is going to jump out of that chest" and sure enough something did everyone's like oh you were right.

Going to a "haunted house" takes a little courage, that's it. Going to a haunted house isn't going to get you killed or injured. My mother and her siblings used to live in several haunted houses back in the 80's or 90's. She told stories about how a woman used to try to lure my Uncle into the cow pond but, before she could my mom or Granddad would stop him.
My uncle refused to go inside alone because he would hear a female voice from what I remember being told.
One was bad enough that my Grandpa ran into my mom and aunts room and got on his knees praying. Mom said before that neither her, or my aunt could move. She said that she was scared and everything was cold.

Yes, Amityville is a proven hoax. Just fools that believe all the crappy movies about it think it's true. Even the Warren's had changed their tune some years later about the house. In fact there was a documentary about it in the mid-to-late 80's, where on camera Loraine Warren said that either the Lutz made everything up or it was just a case of N.E.R. (Negative Energy Residue). The house had a change of owners over the years, not because of ghost, demons, angry Indians, or a "green glowing pig with red eyes, but because onlookers bothering/harassing them. None of the former residents ever experienced anything remotely "ghostly".
