Fun fact. At the very end of the video, the large brick building on the right hand side of the street is the old Hancock #2 Elementary School, which I attended in the 1970s and 80s. It was built in 1913 and closed as a school in 1993. Great video!
This town looks like a typical working class area with really nice well kept up yards, decent sized homes, and an okay amount of shops. It doesn't look like it'd have high crime at all honestly.
You forgot to mentioned the Taco Bell Fitness Course which is adjacent to a woodland archery course in Jefferson Barracks Park. Watch which way you point those arrows, folks.
Just Missouri out of those states. Fenton, Eureka, Times Beach, Allenton, St. Charles and some more Southside St. Louis neighborhoods is what comes to mind.
i was going to watch this then you said "after dropping off five cases of mountain dew to the local foodbank" like, what? you couldn't give folks diabetes, bad teeth, and heart disease at home?

8:17 you can vaguely make out Hancock’s little 5th and 6th grade building on the left just before the 7/11….. I attended in the 80’s
Me too 😊.. remember Mrs Gannon 2nd grade, and of course Mr shimmer, the principal
I was already down the street by 5th grade, I had Mrs Parrish and Mrs Blag for 6th
I grewup in lemay it was nice to see some of the places I used play on and I went to St. Andrew school
There's a VA hospital at Jefferson Barracks, also.
Nice work! Been exploring St. Louis for years now, but parts of Lemay I never knew existed. Great history too!
Great video. I lived there from 96-2022. The Forder family was a major part of Lemay becoming what is it now. Just FYI
Once again, nice ride along. Thanks for sharing.
Very educational- I remember a hail storm going through Lemay in 1974 and damaging many roofs etc.
Yes, enjoyed the video. A leisure drive thru a small town. Nice!
Great vid, lots of memories. Thank you🥲
Lots of Tigers fans seen in St. Louis this past weekend for the series with the Cardinals... glad somebody can enjoy this season.
I know it’s in the can, but just in case you go back, the pronunciation is LEEmay. I grew up there. This is a great video…..
Great video. Brings back a lot of memories.

More cool stuff! Thanjs.😢😮😅😊
Perfectly preserved rendition of American middle class neighborhood circa...1973.
I lived on dammert and horn about 3 or 4 blocks off of lemay ferry rd
At 6 minutes you see the brick building I lived there for 4 years until I moved out because of the haunting activity going on there
There's creeks in there as well
Where Hancock High School is now used to be the sie of a Tuberculosis hospital.
Hey Chris, can you please do a whole video of CASEYVILLE town in Illinois? 😊
I would have just assumed Ordinance Museums #1 - #3 exploded, and this is just their 4th attempt.
Hey, Chris, what is the name of the music, that you used in this video? Great job on the video as always. Keep up the great work!
Pretty cool you were in my area You pass by my childhood street and my street I live on now and you pass by the bar that I'm kicked out of😂
Just moved here; enjoyed learning about the area. Looking forward to the 2026 celebration.
actually there was a storm about a week ago that flooded a whole street of lemay there
It's creepy as all get out walking through the park at 230 in the morning walking to work
That's River distinct
You forgot to mentioned the Taco Bell Fitness Course which is adjacent to a woodland archery course in Jefferson Barracks Park. Watch which way you point those arrows, folks.
Cool

It's obvious that you are not from the area. Lemay is not pronounced Lee May'. It's Le'may, one word with the accent on Le.
i was going to watch this then you said "after dropping off five cases of mountain dew to the local foodbank" like, what? you couldn't give folks diabetes, bad teeth, and heart disease at home?
Dumb reply
That's because their unincorporated
It’s pronounced LEE may
My mother was born LeMay, we said it La-May. Maybe different in Missouri.
It always entertains me when people from an area can’t agree on how to properly pronounce a place.
its LEE MAY not LA MAY
La dew
Lee may
Creev core
Bell fountain
My dude, Lemay is pronounced Luh-may, NOT Lee-may
It has a French origin, fyi
Lemay was named after Francois Lemai who pronounced HIS OWN NAME Luh-may, NOT Lee-may, as he is French
Some of the area leaders might disagree with you ua-cam.com/video/jY1iBr9RKdM/v-deo.html
@@ChrisHarden My dude if a group of leaders say 2 + 2 = 7 that doesn't mean they are right, you know, fyi.
Just an FYI my dude.
@@pizzaearthpancakesandother2549 The group of leaders never said that 2+2 = 7. They said that Lemay was pronounced with a long e.
I was born and grew up in Lemay. I've never heard anyone call it 'Luh-may'. Not once.
Born and raised in the metro, it's always been said Lee may in my lifetime.
