The first week I played this, I remember how tired my bow arm got. Thankfully, teacher fixed my bow arm mechanics. I've had Grumiaux's recording since the 1960s. This young man is an excellent player.

I have heard different recordings of this movement, and each artist adds different embellishments. Is that standard/okay for Viotti or something?
Yes a lot of performers do that. They sometimes even improvise for the cadenza right on the spot! It. Is normal :)
But this cadenza is composed by Kreisler I think
@@liuyang3109that's not normal... You can't play viotti as It was Brahms.. that's even not a Matter of taste, that's respect for the composer and the piece...
If you play Bach and Tchaikovsky in the same way you are just boring..
Just like a painter you can't paint 2 different paintings with the same monotonous colour.
If you do that you lose the beauty of the music or the art

"Tema e Variazioni in Do maggiore" is what Frenchs call their national anthem, composed in 1781, by Viotti that is an Italian artist.

Please note that, although this is some fantastic violin playing, and it's a beautiful piece, Bielman has here committed an entirely unpardonable sin, for which he should be outcast from the music community and probably exterminated: He played a concerto with piano reduction on a recital. I have been told that one never does that. Again, never mind that both violinist and pianist sounded just fine. (PS: If you like this piece, check out Lola Bobesco's recording. Less nuanced but grittier and more forceful ... much more mid-20th-century style.)
