My mom is in the late stages of dementia, I live many states away from her, but my brother… he brought her into his home, he moved her into his own master bedroom for her comfort and he sleeps in the next room on a sofa. She has many night terrors and wakes up very scared. He sleeps with a baby monitor so he can go in and comfort her when she wakes confused and scared. This song describes my brother’s heart. It makes me cry, but it’s so precious. ❤

I didn't meet my dad until i was 33yrs old. He pass away shortly after we met, it's crazy i didn't know this man long but the sadness i had when i found out was hard i didn't understand how i could feel so much for someone i hardly new. But i know one day we'll meet again and songs like this are awesome to hear when I'm thinking of him...

I have a very similar story, I was about 32 and first time I met my father. Only a few years later I found out he had a Alzheimer's so never really got to know him. I know I'll always have a deep love for him, but at the same time struggle to forgive him for not being in my life. He's still alive but doesn't know who I am anymore.

I couldn't listen to this song for the longest time because it reminds me so much of the last time I spoke to her. But now I can make it through for the most part. Happy Birthday, Mom. I love you.

I tell my sons their dad doesn't know how blessed he is to have sons like them, that it is his loss.. They're respectful, kind, caring, would give the shirt off their back to help someone, hard working, and loving young men. Their dad has come around and I saw they rejected him, I believe it is too late for him. I don't get involved either way. My boys have outgrown him and gone their own way. ❤

I lost my Dad September 22. I wasn't there when he passed. I'll regret it forever
I spent the last four years of my father’s life watching him slowly die from COPD and asthma. I was watching him overnight because my mother can no longer watch him by herself so I then I spent the last four days of his life watching him fight. He was on a combination of morphine and an anti-anxiety pill I had to give him the morphine every two hours in the end. It was pretty much like legal euthanasia. We all have our own paths in life to lead always remember there was an absolute reason for you not to be there. And whatever reason that was please come to terms with it my friend because believe me, your father does not regret you.
