Completely agree with Adam, think it’s unfair to say AJ has no bottle or heart, he could have given up in the 2nd but continued to battle on. More of a skill issue than anything else.
He was just as dissimisive of dubois as hrgovic, you could see it in his body language. I've just watched the first round off all aj's fights since 2017 and the difference in defensive awareness is staggering compared to how he fought dubois. Hands down, chin stuck on the air. Poor tactics and execution. At times, he looked like a novice and deservedly got punished.
was lucky enough to be at Wembley last night - what a fight, what a show. I thought it would be AJ by 7-8th round KO, but what DDD delivered was a sensational demolition job!
Glad you said that about the ref, thought exactly the same bias towards AJ from the off First clinch nothing in it (straight pull aside warning about head so clearly in his mind before the fight even started!) Second clinch again nothing really in it - pull aside strong warning like a final warning (even commentary said didn’t see anything) AJ then clinched and held everytime for next four rounds… not one ‘stop holding’ let alone warning Waved a no knockdown with wrong hand signal so looked like waved fight off as AJ on shaky legs Let the stool, corner come in and even support AJ glove/arm as he’s getting up from knockdown and let them help him to corner… he was counting just because bell went doesn’t mean they can do all that Just a shambles especially those opening warnings, clearly had that in his head prior
AJ looked like he had to be dragged to the ring. He knew he was gonna get it. Was brilliant. Nicks reaction to the first and last KDs were brilliant haha. Won a few pound on DDD winning rounds 4 to 6. Cant see why he would bother coming back now. A long dangerous road back to the top for money he will never spend never mind need.
After everything AJ has done for boxing it was hard seeing him get knocked out like that, especially at Wembley in front of 96,000 people. It’s a cold game, the song Daddy Cool blasting around the stadium as AJ was still trying to stand up with his face planted into the canvas. The old king of the lions den was mauled and ripped to pieces by the young lion and he never stopped trying to get up. Sad that it’s over.
Catterall spot on again. Nothing to do with bottle or who had the bigger balls. It was a skill level thing dubois landed massive shots and AJ was missing with his. I think AJ showed massive heart to keep trying to get up. But lets be honest AJ has been overhyped by hearn his entire career. His skill level has never been elite. Fair play to him hes made a fortune and been world champ but he doesnt belong world level anymore

It does make me wonder what AJ meant in the face off when he was implying something about Dubois spending time in Brazil. I just find it strange this huge resurgence from out of nowhere.
Dubois has a Brazilian girlfriend I think? But I think there's also an implication of doping while out there / managing cycles etc. Personally I think DDD just had Joshua's number.
People are going to want adding aj win to their record. Zhang, kabayel, bakole, parker etc many could be eager to fight aj. 10 years later people looks your record. Like aj added 41 y.old klitscko
Adam...Nick do you not honestly believe that the plan is still to put AJ in with Tyson ....Eddie will do anything to try and not put him in with Dubois again...he absolutely hammered him into submission and if they fight again it will be quicker....the money men along with Turkiye will make excuses or pay people to step aside or wait until AJ and Tyson fight.....I agree give Parker his shot against Daniel
I was convinced AJ would stop him I could see the possibility of a Ruiz type brawl breaking out & AJ walking into one, kinda how it ended. I didn't see Dubois bullying him & beating him up from the first bell.
That first round sledge from Dubois rocked Joshua's legs and he couldn't stabilise them from then on in. He was schooled! Outstanding performance by DDD
How good does Usyk look now!. Usyk has done things he shouldn't be able to do in the heavyweight division beating Fury, AJ and Dubois. What an incredible fighting man Usyk is. One of the best to ever do it for sure to beat guys holding all the physical advantages in height, weight and reach over him. The only thing they didn't have over him ultimately was skill.
Unfair from Nick to say AJ’s bottle went, that shot on the first round could have knocked out a horse. Aj proved to many that he’s not as chinny as they all say. His biggest problem was that when he gets hit and hurt his ego kicks in and he starts looking out to the crowd and doing other silly antics and completely throws his game plan or any form of game plan out the window. You could say that Aj doesn’t know how to deal with being hurt in a fight but weirdly I saw more people giving Aj respect after than he would have got if he had won. If DDD fights Usyk again he needs to go in with the same mentality as in his last 3 fights, punches in bunches as it has been proved throwing 1 at a time at a cat like Usyk will not work
Agree no point of a rematch. Dubois negated AJ’s reach advantage with his footwork, hand speed and punch power did the rest. That won’t change. Hat’s off to Warren for keeping the faith in his fighter and with the youngster Moses Itauma also in his stable and Fury sitting at the top, the crafty old fox holds all the cards.
So glad nick brought the referee up. He was a disgrace. Phantom head butts, over reacting to the low shot. Why he counted the last knockdown is beyond me. The fix was definitely in!
Wtf is Nick smoking saying AJ has no heart? Comes across as being a bit of a hater with him the guy got up what 4 times and even on the last one was still trying desperately to get up when his brains on another planet? Saying his “bottle went” as well absolutely embarrassing take his brains were scrambled from round 1 and he stayed in there till round 5 getting punched around the ring the full time, couldn’t have been any happier as well on that watch along when he was getting done in 🤣 At least try hide it Nick!
AJ had a similar look in his eye as he had prior to Ruiz Jr 1 during the ring walk. He did well to keep getting up though, and i think even though the Wilder fight would be a bit of an old man battle, it would be better late than never
I agree with Adam, AJ didn't bottle it, he just couldn't adjust or wouldn't adjust he wanted to knock dubois out in wild fashion. I couldnt believe he just kept making the same mistakes roubd after round. Why didn't he sit back on his jab dance around for a few rounds, recover as much as possible. Dubois was starting to slow down and I think jishau would have eventually won if he made it through that roubd. I also believe joshua wins if they do it again. Dubois jab was incredible though.
Whilst we didn't put any stock into Dubois having the ibf belt before the fight.. How did 'challenger' AJ have a one way rematch clause locked in... Hope you discuss this.
I like this channel but one thing that gets right on my tits is this constant remark about fighters 'loosing there bottle'. If a fighter takes a knee - like Dubious. Or him going down to a jab. There not 'shitting it' there not loosing there bottle they have reached a point of punishment where they feel they can't carry on. With all we know about CTE and brain injuries and long term damage I'd much rather see a fighter stop than continue with lost cause a hopefully avoid getting long term injured down the road. We hope for great fights but why should fighters have to carry the stigma of 'shit it, lost his bottle' if they decide to stop. They are fighting, risking there lives for our entertainment. They are all warriors.
Terrible terrible take from nick. How can you say aj lacked heart and desire when he got up off his ass over and over again. He could have quit anytime but went out on his shield. The desire is 100% there
Lapses in judgement and overconfidence is why AJ lost. I personally don’t agree with nicks take on it but Adam is on the right lines. If there is a rematch I think it goes longer but with a similar result knowing AJ’s mentality
Hey lads i hope your well i love your shows..... i think AJ should go straight for the rematch if AJ waits and does another rebuild thats going to take him at least another 2 years, 2 years older in age and 2 years lost in speed i would just throw it all in the rematch as its a no lose situaion for AJ. I know no one wants to see the rematch but if i was in AJ shoes and the rematch clause was there then i woild take it. On dubois congratulations proved every man and his dog wrong P.S..... is " nick gareth A davis"son speaks as much sense as him
Funny how when Fury almost got KO’d by Usyk that scouser had nothing bad to say about Fury and were in hiding mode n will be again in December when Usyk KO’s Fury🤣
@20:58 💯 Reminds me of when AJ fought Parker, and every time Parker would hit him clean on the jaw….The Ref would say, behind the head, behind the head. And AJ would reach behind his head, and say yea! Behind the head…😂🤦🏽♂️
Morning lads, listen Dubois was great last night but counting AJ shots/landed Dubois had nothing to fear. AJ only had one chance and through fear/apathy he couldn't. Let's see?
Within the first ten seconds I went oh no. AJ's legs weren't there from bell one, he looked laboured and old. If he isn't done. Then he was injured or something happened behind the scenes in camp. I just think he's done tbh.
Dubois vs parker Joshua vs miller Those should be the next two fights joshua needs to redeem himself after the shlacking he took the weekend. Miller would be a good test to see where he's at
I think Parker, Bakolie, Zhang all knock out Joshua going forward. They will catch him, rock him, hurt him and stop him because he's never recovered from the Ruiz fight and Daniel has just highlighted his achilles heel again. One good shot and he unravels.
Nick saying dubois could take AJs shot but lets be real AJ landed nothing of note. His jabs looked like lazy point scoring slow jabs while daniels were sharp and hard. Also after Ajs legs being gone in the first he had no base to get any real power off
AJ got tagged in the 1st and couldn’t recover. He rolled the dice in the 5th and got flattened. Dubois jumped on him from the bell. Joshua wanted a minute to get into it. Joshua went out on his shield in the 5th but really the fight should have been stopped in the 2nd. The ref was blatantly biased in favour of AJ. It was an atrocious referee’ing performance.
Been saying for months... the 'this version of AJ' was an absolute myth. Built on knocking out bums & sparring partners. Tyson Fury does that to 'any' version of AJ can we now admit?
It's clear he's got absolutely no heart or desire to get into fights where it might get messy and last night proved it. Not sure what the game plan was? Still incredibly shaky everytime he gets hit. Triple knee should fight parker or zhang.
I think your getting carried away, Usyk had it right, AJ was a gift for any decent heavyweight on sat night, he looked like a different fighter, even before he got clipped. Hands low, footwork all over the shop. This is where fighters that start boxing late come unstuck, where the likes Tyson, Usyk, even Duboi have had it drilled in from young so it's always second nature, even under insurmountable pressure

@@GT-wo2oj oh 100% but you have to admit that since the Ruiz fight he’s been more tentative! @@andrewstevens9840 yea course as soon as he took that punch it was over, it was a perfect shot on the chin. He didn’t have a chance to be more tentative, he was actually solid before that shot, hit Dubois with a quality uppercut. This hypothetical sudo-psycho analysis I find so dumb, especially when theres cameras literally showing you a man put in an incredible performance where he took apart Joshua. What happens in the ring is why boxers lose or win.
Dubois looked better than ever before and demolished AJ and also put Usyk to the canvas with his hands for about a week after that questionable, to say the least, low blow 😒
If Fury wins, you cannot fight Dubois for undisputed before Usyk gets his third fight with Fury, you need to honour a proper eliminator style thing, if you're going to do that and not move on when you are 1-1
Bit harsh from nick! AJ hasn't got a great chin and if anyone catches him he's going to get that but then he could of won as well after that shot even tho he got battered. Definately got more fights left in him
The media hype over AJ is ridiculous the bottom line is he can’t box he is too muscle bound suffers with lactic acid spends too much time in the gym on weights has no defence the most overhyped boxer in history. Dubois could knock out an ox so AJ stands there with his hands by his waist and his chin in the air. Name a great win against a hard opponent that AJ has ever fought ? The boxing media are grifters

England has heavy weight champion in boxing, mma and bare knuckle. Not bad eh ?
If Fury wins, you cannot fight Dubois for undisputed before Usyk gets his third fight with Fury, you need to honour a proper eliminator style thing, if you're going to do that and not move on when you are 1-1
Can we swerve the swearing please lads
As I love to listen to these in work and I can't haha
Joshua went down more times than Diddy at a baby oil party.
Bit harsh from nick! AJ hasn't got a great chin and if anyone catches him he's going to get that but then he could of won as well after that shot even tho he got battered. Definately got more fights left in him
Joshua is done ,finito ,finished, game over
The media hype over AJ is ridiculous the bottom line is he can’t box he is too muscle bound suffers with lactic acid spends too much time in the gym on weights has no defence the most overhyped boxer in history. Dubois could knock out an ox so AJ stands there with his hands by his waist and his chin in the air. Name a great win against a hard opponent that AJ has ever fought ? The boxing media are grifters
