**CORRECTION** Maxim AGF is from Japan, NOT Korea. We misspoke in the video. Although they do make a Korean Blend of instant coffee, which is why we got confused. amzn.to/2qqhurE
I found this info in an Amazon review. I hope it helps! "red=mocha; green=Kilimanjaro; blue=Columbian; brown=Brazilian; orange=espresso " Also, where did you get that sweater? I love it!
A VERY good trick to make instant coffee taste better, dilute the coffee powder into a shot of cold water first, then add the boiling water to that slurry. It keeps the crystals from burning and getting a bitter taste. It really works great!
Just an FYI... the Maxim brand probably tasted "thin", because they are meant to be used in approximately 3 oz of water... as opposed to the usual 8 oz American cup of coffee. It probably said so on the side of the box, but as it was probably written in Korean, we'll forgive the error. :)
Kopiko satchets from the Philippines are my personal favorite. Plus they are pretty caloric for those of you who keep check on your energy requirements.
Thanks for drinking all that coffee! You left out Folgers! Will try the last one. Don’t know how to spell it. I liked your descriptions and honesty. Liked both of you too. Mike B.
This video was a breath of fresh air. It was directed at backpacking, it was about something that backpackers actually have a hard time with (finding good instant coffee) and it felt real. Thanks for this. Subb'd.
My husband and I are admittedly coffee snobs and so far our savior on the trails have been our regular brazilian cold brew concentrate brought in the smallest mason jars you can get. Add hot water and it tastes just like home. We’re curious about your “winners” though! We’ll give it a try
Sudden Coffee is my personal favorite. It's like 85% of a good coffeeshop pourover. The light roast has a nice fruity acidity that always shocks me when I think that it comes in powder form. The quality definitely comes at a high price. With tax, it comes out to $3 a cup and you have to buy in packs of 8. But I definitely don't mind the price considering that the quality is wayyyy better than the drip coffee you get at a Peet's or Starbucks.
You guys!! I never knew you had a UA-cam channel! I've been following you on IG for several months. I have been getting so much awesome meal inspo from you and look forward to each video! Keep kicking ass, your cooking and video production skills are very inspiring!
Thanks so much! We're still getting a handle on the video stuff, but it has been a great learning experience. Happy to share what we can with the world.
Personally I thought the Mt Hagan was like tasters choice.. just meh. Didn't buy it a second time. And I liked the Pikes (Via). But thanks you it's nice to see ten go head to head. I noticed this was 2017 , wonder if there are any better ones now ?
Just curious, why didnt you include any of the Vietnamese instants like G7 and Vinacafe? They are very very good and alot cheaper than most of these here.
majority of my life I have drunk instant coffee ( 70% of all coffee sales in Aus and NZ is instant) Personally I love a few instant coffees the stuff i grew up with now all taste like bitter excriment lol I drink Maxim Gold or Orginal Korean Coffee Sticks Lucus 9 from Korea 2 in 1 also MAP Premium instant coffee and my GO TO INTERNATIONAL ROAST 11AUD for a 500grm tin lol For me hiking/backpacking/camping short or long term ( since I do all in the bushes/mountians of Tasmania ) any coffee ( that I like) is good coffee lol everything imho tastes great outdoors and when it is fucking freeeeezing at 5am in morning lol when i was a kid and went on school camps we got the most watered down milo and it still tasted fantastic, when ya absolutely tired and exauseted watered down milo was tasty af
Voila's web page is horribly hard to read. Why would anyone put white text on a light blue background? Where do they say what quantity of coffee you get for 16.00? If Voila is your favorite, what was your 2nd favorite?
That's awesome! If we'd ever move to the states Bend would be one of our absolute favorites. You should get dinner at Spork sometime, great restaurant!
I just came across your channel and website today, as I was planning my trip to the Cascades Lakes this weekend. You two live in Bend?! Me too! I love it here! And I am quickly falling in love with your site! So much good information.
I did an early test for Voila, and backed the kickstarter. Absolutely love it. I have my review of it on our blog at familyoffthemap.com/2016/08/12/voila-you-wont-believe-its-instant-coffee/
Hahaha - I'm being an asshat. She's cool - I just thought maybe she was continually differing to her friend, so I was just wondering out loud, but it's cool - I'm being an idiot. No offense to anyone.

As a relatively snobby coffee drinker, I really appreciated this. Good work, y'all!

I drink Mount Hagen regularly with coconut sugar, a dash of organic cinnamon and Oatly oatmilk.
Voila. 5 packets. $16. WTF?
Kopiko satchets from the Philippines are my personal favorite. Plus they are pretty caloric for those of you who keep check on your energy requirements.
My favourite coffee as a child was camp in warm milk it's a chicory based product
Really good review ! Thank you!
I agree, and the travel side of coffee is becoming a massive focus now. I reviewed a few bits on my channel with this in mind
Thank you. It would help if the names if each coffee were kept up for a few seconds and if these captions were in black letters. Thank you!
This is the second video on instant coffee reviews that puts Mount Hagen at or towards the top. I just wish it weren't so darn expensive..
Nescafé House blend is life
wannna marry bitch ? stop being perfect
Voila has 3 versions: the lively, complex, and structured. Which one did you taste there?
Thanks for drinking all that coffee! You left out Folgers!
Will try the last one. Don’t know how to spell it.
I liked your descriptions and honesty.
Liked both of you too.
Mike B.
Would you do an updated tasting with ease, etc
She is a keeper.
Great review. Now what do you recommend for a sleeping aid?
I really like Nescafe Colombian or French roast toast like normal Coffey.
Yes! It smells so good too!
In Singapore, I like to get ALICAFE French Roast instant coffee!

Which Viola flavor did you sample?

You guys are awesome, hilarious, and genuine! Love all the episodes you guys have done so far! Keep making more.

Gotta say, I wish you would do this again but make sure you only use 85C water
You should try the French Roast Starbucks Via, I drink it quite often and its pretty good in my opinion

Check out Nostalgia coffee San Diego, they've got a great instant!
thank you...it is now 2020...still recommend Voila???
Have heard really good things about Alpine Start, this is the only review I have seen where they didn't really like it ☕🤔
Voila is now out of business.
you should try davidoff espresso 57 , very rich instant coffee
Deep Rich Mre coffee is the best for me
Good work guys. . . .
Hi! I found you on one of Simon's videos :) Love the coffee reviews and I'm excited to try a few of these!
Just curious, why didnt you include any of the Vietnamese instants like G7 and Vinacafe? They are very very good and alot cheaper than most of these here.
good job
Awesome review, thx! :)
You used too much water for maxim yoo should use 100 ml for 1 stick. I use 2 sticks for a full cup and it is good.
You had way too much water for the Maxim. That's why it tasted thin. One Maxim packet per 3oz of water.

Solid review and video! Voila is hands down the best!! :-)
Where'd they go?
You said one of the coffees is "here from Bend", did you move?
We did. We needed to get back to the mountains.
That's awesome! If we'd ever move to the states Bend would be one of our absolute favorites. You should get dinner at Spork sometime, great restaurant!

Eight cups hahaha and the day keeps going and going and going.
Most instant coffee are one a 6 oz scale.
Folgers makes one in a tea bag form. It's pretty good as instant coffees go.
Also she's cute. She seems like she would be a lot of fun to be around.
Got here from Simon channel. No better coffee than made in India.
Sounds like they're adding too much water
She's so cute
were is tasters choice?
No tats.Thanks!

Better have some coffee than none at all.
Now if Starbucks could include free WiFi with each packet of Via...
HA !!
Hahaha trader Joe's for me ,
Why do all the hipsters have to represent backpackers
Not qualified. Freeze drying is not that complicated.
coffee hipsters and their views on sugar and creamer XD

bunch of unknown coffee stick to the basics
fair trade organic...does it also come with a preferred pronoun?
As soon as it says vegan non gmo “I would look forward to this” coincidence perhaps
First world problem

@@sarah-mj9tw I guess you only have opinion but no sense of humor, it's just a joke, relax

Not trying to be an ass here, but can the young lady speak first and stand on her own opinion?
Lellobeetle what are you trying to say ?
Hahaha - I'm being an asshat. She's cool - I just thought maybe she was continually differing to her friend, so I was just wondering out loud, but it's cool - I'm being an idiot. No offense to anyone.
Why don't other companies sell microground coffee like Starbucks?
