As the work goes on it sounds LESS & LESS like Haydn! Orchestra is 19th century and has CLARINETS very prominently.
Of course it has taken me years to accept the D Major concerto as Haydn; compositional technique isn't right for Haydn in that one--but not so glaringly like Popper's travesty.
Have just reached the development with distinctly NON-Haydn technique. Obnoxious clarinets just showed up teased by a bassoon! And NO soloist's cadenza off a six-four chord on the dominant! ABSOLUTELY FAKE!!!
