I’ve watched 4 other videos trying to learn how to navigate underwater using a compass from several big scuba diving UA-cam channels and this video happens to be the best. I have finally got the answer for what I was looking for. Thank you, Zhang!
If only every other UA-cam tutorial could be this simple and to the point. Every video about this topic was a waste of time until I found yours. Thank you
1) If you are performing reciprocal course (turning 180 degrees back to original location): Doesn't matter 2) If you are performing square pattern AND returning to original location: Doesn't matter 3) If you are performing navigation or something more complex: It probably matter. Example: You are navigating from Point A to Point B, and having to avoid obstacles.
After traveling your fixed distance, simply add 120° to whatever bearing/reading North is at, do this for the fixed distance, then repeat once more then you're back at your start point.
Simple and good video - but you know that, this is a scuba compass ;) This compass is good enough for underwater navigation (where not this navigation is the first important) but for the land navigation a good plate compass more precise (with mirror, sighting and a good topographic map)). Eg. navigating in a city (standing on the corner of the street and which direction is right) this is perfect.

Hi, when do we know if we use the compass clockwise or counter-clockwise? Does it matter?
