Just come back from my honeymoon in Barbados. Best place on earth. Stayed on Oistins and drove this road several times. Great food, weather, people and spent hours swimming and snorkeling. Can't wait to go back.
So many improvements have been made it's now 2021. As a Barbadian I'm proud of how clean the streets are I never really took the time to appreciate that. Anyway Barbados is a very beautiful country and the people are friendly if you ever choose to come here you won't be disappointed. Looking forward to you coming here and enjoying our beautiful country, culture and trying our authentic food
Thanks a lot for the great memos you gave me. My (definitly) last Visit was 2000/2001 :-( First time 1978 when they still had some wooden Busses. Now my health-situation and the bank-account wont never ever allow to get back to my second home. So I depending on wonderful videos like yours, if ever my homesickness gets too badly. Oh Lord, how often did I pass these places, went shopping at BigB had a Coconut-Water at Accra and enjoyed lovely Chicken-Livers at Granny's. Thanks again - and God bless you and the Island and all Bajans! :-)
One of my favorite videos, I've watched this a few times now. Especially now that I had to cancel my trip for Cropover 2020. I try to get to BIM 3 times a year, was just there in March. Needed this as a pick-me-up. Thanks!!!
I stayed in Barbados (Elizabeth Park - Christ Church) on 2001/2002, I worked at Sewage Project. It was a really nice time, unforgetable for me. I remember the friday¨s nights at Harbour Lights or Oistins. Saturdays I used to go to Saint Lawrence Gap or Baku. Kindy people and good memories about this country. Thanks for share this video, it brings me only pleasure and longing. Greating from Argentina... and keep uploading more videos.
Stayed at the the Golden Sands before my sailing cruise. Loved it and now I miss the sounds of the tree frogs at night. Thank you for the drive brings back memories. Take me back to Barbados
Thanks for your video, we're off to Barbados for our 25th wedding anniv this May 2014. It's where we went for our honeymoon. Going to Oistins fish fry on the Friday, so was nice to see where we'll be. Guess it will have changed a lot since 1989! ;)
Love the video, I was there Feb 2020 and should be there now, this pandemic sucks. This island and its people are very special, Oistins is excellent and if you like rum go to 4 square and drink in the fumes, make sure you do the tasting its worth every penny. You didn't mention Surfers, its worth a visit for breakfast, even better if you can get the table over looking the beach.
Just sitting in my room in the Accra watching this! Have been staying at the Blue Horizon and Radisson as well this week, have been moved around a little due to hotels being full. Will be able to pinpoint landmarks I pass every day to the guys back home. My friend is currently in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital after she and I were taken off our cruise ship last week and I take the number 11 ZR bus to the hospital and back every day. A rip roaring ride for just $2! Thanks for posting :)
Going to stay at Palm Garden Hotel next year but I can't pic it out on this video, somewhere along Worthing Main Rd, on the left. Haven't been to Barbados yet but look forward to it! great grandmother was from there.
I am feeling homesick after watching this beautiful video. Thank you for the memories. Can you do one on the North or East side of the Island? I would be most grateful. Thanks again
i was just there in november of 2021 and i had a great time i have a lot of family there proud to be a bajan yakey when i get a chance to get a way thats were i am.
My family is from Barbados, my last name is Welch. Grandma born there Margarette Leo Welch died at 97 years old. Her father name was Joseph ,Mom Joanna Newsum. I want to visit. I believe their from here.
Thanks for the memories! We just came back from Crop Over 2014 revelry and this trip down the Coast Road was truly one down Memory Lane. Hubby's childhood home is in Maxwell Terrace, so we are more than familiar with this part of the island! Indeed, it is VERY easy to spend one's entire holiday on the South Coast -- although we try to visit Mullins in St. Peter on a regular basis... All in all, thanks for this video! (How yuh did manage tah avoid the bumper-to-bumper traffic that usually clogs up this main thoroughfare...?!)

Hey there! Enjoyed this video and would like to know what is the name of the song transitioning in @ 3:14? Can't find the title when I try to do a UA-cam search. Thanks!
No. It's the right side of the road for them/us. All Islands have narrow roads/streets. Day or night the road rules are the same. Take a holiday you'll enjoy. Go on give it a try
In the West Indies. Off the Central Cost of America. In the caribbean sea. Over the Atlantic Ocean by Air or Sea. A beautiful destination all year round
Poor barbados. What a dump it is. When 'KFC" becomes a landmark, you know you're in big trouble. That route used to be quite scenic, but every old home has either fallen into ruin or been pulled down to make room for a bank, a gas station, a 'mini plaza' or some egg box apartment building. It's just a giant strip mall now. Shame.

I didn't have a great holiday there, terrible airbnb, cut to pieces on the coral, but was very taken by how warm and friendly the locals were

GoPro Hero 3+. Also good for taking videos in the sea and underwater
the streets are so narrow and they drive on the opposite side of the road--nighttime driving must be insane.

Whats wrong with a country evolving? We cant stay in the stone age forever. Things have to move forward.
