These days, I much prefer Jani's other projects to Sonata Arctica (especially what he's doing with Insomnium), but it would be very cool to see him and Elias playing the same show or hear them on a track together. They're both phenomenal players in their own right. I'm glad to see that the relationship between Jani and his former bandmates is still so positive. You don't often see that when splits happen.
it was kinda negative for a few years after it happened (I remember a few particularly negative 2007 interview quotes from the band's side, and Sonata’s “It Won’t Fade”/Cain’s Offering’s “Into The Blue” speak for themselves), but they were able to patch things up after that. Which is not common.
