VERY cool Mach 5! I have a 1/18 diecast of it that a friend got for me right before he passed away in 2019. They go for crazy money! That version you have is sweet! Hope you're able to un-yellow it!! I was worried it didn't come with Trixie since it had figures. Gotta have Trixie!!
Such a cool show, and SUCH a cool car (though I like Racer X's Shooting Star as much).
I have that Mach 5 as well. The day I got it, I did something I’d wanted to do since second grade and raced it against the General Lee😂
Mach 5 for the win in that race. Especially if it is Live-Action vs. Live-Action.
I bought two Mach 5's when they first came out.one I opened, and it yellowed, the other has never been opened and hasn't yellowed. I've lost the saw blades and jump jacks to the open one

Both good finds. Very good looking cars. And agree on taking a Firebird over a Delorean. Guessing everyone would want a picture and take away from the ride. Big on Speed Racer too but only bought Racer X. Lost his cartoon nips though.
So IF you can get a decal set, I’d just paint it. Sounds like a call to Left Coast! Yours spent some time underwater. The screws are rusty. But still a good find.

Bullitt has the finest opening credits ever comitted to film. The titles are by the legendary Pablo Ferro (you may not know his name but you know his work), a sinister plot that sets up the plot of the film plays out within the titles, and a memorable and smooth Lalo Schiffrin jazz composition plays in the background. I will sometimes throw this movie on JUST to watch the title sequence.
And of course the film itself is one of the best car chase films of all time.
Edit: also that Mach 5 is AMAZING!

Please don’t throw that box away if you haven’t already. As an Anime collector, that box may be worth more than you realize to the right person because of rarity. Plus vintage Anime toys from the 90’s or before didn’t have much stuff produced for North America 🇺🇸, so with time that stuff even semi complete is becoming harder every day to track down. Even beat up versions. Think 🤔 about it like you would a rare vintage Star Wars piece. Anyway keep up the videos. They make great background distractions while playing Switch or Cleaning 🧹/Cooking.

Sorry for being so anal, but I absolutely love Speed Racer/ Mach Go Go Go. Not only for it’s historical significance but also because it is a badass show with great action for the era it was made in and it is one of the few anime to have every episode dubbed & aired on Network TV.
I have this and most of the Resaurus Speed Racer toy line. Good stuff to collect.
I've liked and enjoyed your vids for some time now, but I have a newfound respect for you now that I know you've never seen a Fast and Furious movie (me neither)!

@@ThatJunkman it’s better on multiple viewings. The Wachowski’s made it very stylized to the cartoon. Like a literal live action interpretation. The CGI suffers and makes it look like bad CGI, but seems they wanted it to be like that.
As an Anime to Live - Action adaptation, it is definitely one of the better ones out there. At least they gave the source material the love it deserves. The only real issue is the whitewashing of the characters. Plus at least it isn’t Dragon Ball or Death Note (Netflix Version) levels of bad and is more like the 70’s Live - Action Lupin III they made in Japan 🇯🇵. The right amount of love with the minor tweaks in the proper places. Lastly they managed to get the Racer X Story spot on (was my #1 concern until a certain point in the movie 🍿). Can’t recommend the Live - Action version enough, especially if you have younger kids.
PS - If you have a Wii or WiiU, then purchase yourself a copy of the Speed Racer game based off this movie. A true hidden 💎 for the system if you enjoy F-Zero games.

Seen some but a lot don’t tell you that it can make the plastic weak after about 5 years. ;)
@@ThatJunkman sadly the yellowing is actually what makes the plastic brittle, but the whitening dosent help, the method from toy polloi is better and more gentle to the plastic

I just pick one up today for $25.00 but it was missing the kid. It also has a small acc that looks like some kind of missile not sure where it gos yet but it had a place on the box.

I had this one!Playing Mantis was a great toy company!I.also.had Speed,Racer X,Trixie, and both Pops.Variants,one had.oil.smudges on his shirt.and apparently Racer X had a.playset car too.never saw it on shelves,My Mach 5 playset car was melted in a house fire in 07
Maybe 🤔 look up videos on yellowing video game consoles & how to clean the plastic. Never hurts to look up different products that use the same materials & were made around the same time.

To whiten the yellowing you would need to put it in hydrogen porixide in a glass tank. Keep it out in the sunlight for a few hours or days depending how bad the yellowing. Some got examples on Toypolli channel.
Yes but it can weaken the plastic and start to slow damage after a couple of years
