During the 80's ,there was a program on radio called raag rang and often this song I heard and it became one of my favorite number.Ever since I started listening to Hindi songs too.
Truly a masterpiece from Jaidev! And of course the writing by Gulzar! It is hard to believe there is not one music director or writer on today’s time, who can create one memorable song. Old is gold and is to stay for generations for sure.
Between 0.15 and 0.18 seconds, when Bhupinder sings 'aabudana' first time, I can feel the music follows it same as in arabic songs after he sings the word aabudana. That is what all arabic songs commonly you hear all the time do, music follows every few words. This song has another unique feel is between 1.10 minute & 1.12 minutes Runa Laila quickly follows 'ghar hoga' to catch with 'ambar pe koi' and that gives some rthythm break, nicely done.

Truly a masterpiece from Jaidev! And of course the writing by Gulzar! It is hard to believe there is not one music director or writer on today’s time, who can create one memorable song. Old is gold and is to stay for generations for sure.
Between 0.15 and 0.18 seconds, when Bhupinder sings 'aabudana' first time, I can feel the music follows it same as in arabic songs after he sings the word aabudana. That is what all arabic songs commonly you hear all the time do, music follows every few words. This song has another unique feel is between 1.10 minute & 1.12 minutes Runa Laila quickly follows 'ghar hoga' to catch with 'ambar pe koi' and that gives some rthythm break, nicely done.
What does aabudana mean
It means searching for a livelyhood. Aabu daana means water and foodgrain literally. They mean looking to get some work to earn some money to live their life as a whole.

I love this song very much every night before sleeping I was listening and fresh my mood.
Initially I didn't like this song but due to wish of God this song strikes suddenly to mind and believe me ,slowly slowly understood me the beauty of each and every word of song and refresh me and I started to sing with song. Most important thing is the simplicity of video as well as song.
