They get bigger when you wear them. So keep that in mind when choosing your size ❤❤❤ I made theses for our daughter when she was 2 yrs old and still make them for her today and she is 30 ❤
I would love to have this pattern again! I have made two pairs for the pattern, but I lost it, years ago. Could you share either the book named or the actual pattern here? I'm unable to find it on their website. 🤔
I Just found this awesome video, Exactly the slippers I was wanting to make, again! I lost the pattern some time ago and I'm so grateful to find your video here! Thank you so much! I finished one slipper while watching your video 🤗🫶
I love this pattern, it was easy for me to adjust the pattern for my foot that has had foot surgery, I have no toes on one foot. Made an oval tube for that foot and measured my foot from top to ankle and continued the pattern from there. The regular directions fit perfect for my normal foot. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Oh I love this pattern! And you were very fun to follow along with - I was *almost* able to match your speed which was fantastic. So easy to adapt to my foot size too - I'll be making these for eveyrone!
I’ve been making these since 1980. It’s been my go to Christmas gift. My grandsons still ask for new ones as they grow. They go through the W/D beautifully!
Jayda, I simply must tell you that I have learned so much from you. I love the way you explain patterns....even a Pollack can understand!!!! Thank you.
Jayda i just love how you explain things such detail because you just seem to know the question marks above our heads then in the next breathe you just seem to speak exactly what we might be thinking,e.g i watched this on another video but i could not see or understand what was being done. You have such a great energy and personality xxx
Fabulous pattern ! Just finishing up a few homemade gifts for Christmas. Just made a child's slipper with you. It turned out great!! Now to make the second one😊 Thanks Jayda!
I bought EasyLiner shelf liner to put on the bottom for non-slip. It even has holes so easy to attach all around sole. Thank you so much for this tutorial! Love these!
Thank you, Jayda and Mr InStitches❣️ That was very interesting and indeed genius pattern of slipper socks 😊. Will definitely make one or two pairs of these in some point. Thanks again ❤❣️
sorry I missed the live stream, but I'm watching now. I love these. I am a child of the 70's and my grandma made them for me every Christmas. I have never made them, but I will now!!! Thanks!!!!
Hello Jayda and Mr.Stiches! When I crocheted slipper socks for my grandchildren I used tulip fabric paint on the bottom of the slippers in a zigzag line. Three or four lines going across the bottom will help with the slippery process.
I made myself a pair of these in wool a couple years ago, and I wore holes into them within a couple of days. We have plush carpet throughout the house. Carpet is HARD on slippers. The friction on the fibers is really rough. I wear through acrylic too, but not that quickly. I grabbed some of the Phentex yarn to try. Looking forward to seeing how that goes.
OMG!!!! I too, have made hundreds of these, wrote down the directions from memory, and tried to find these direction without any luck! This just made me so HAPPY....😅😅😅😅
I was lurking during the live stream and decided to give these a shot. Grabbed pink and turquoise super saver and the biggest hook I had, (6.5mm) Just have to say thank you so much for the tips on fitting them to your foot!!!!! ❤❤🎉❤❤ With my tension I have an extra row+ a yarn width in the patterns guage of the toe piece. It's a very solid piece of amigurumi so far! (lol. It doesn't stretch much in my case which is why I went with the 6.5, so the stitch count around my 8 1/2 wide foot would work. 😂 22 rows from the magic ring later, the tube fits really nicely up to the bend in my ankle. I may trace my foot and make a sole pattern that I can sew on, to try to extend the heel wear over the winter and put tool dip or something on the bottom maybe. ❤ Thank you again, your fitting tips are awesome
Love this!!! Just catching up because ive been working on a poncho for my brother in law for Christmas but hoping to get done before Christmas lol but making some of these for my littles Christmas Box ❤
@JaydaInStitches you're welcome. Sometimes, I don't always get on the live. Hubby's congestive heart failure keeps me busy at times. I'm so glad I can watch it later.❤️
Thank you for sharing........When you have lost your hearing and need to wear hearing aids, even tho you have the volume up all the way, it really Helps more if the Closed Captions were on, Yes, I have done everything with the settings and this was recorded without closed captions, that is why there is none. Yes, this is a wonderful pattern, and love the yarn!
There is slip grip material that would work on the bottoms of the socks. Can get at Joanne's fabric or maybe hobby lobby, michaels. Was used when one made sleepers for children.
I love your videos. I just watched this one and love how you explain everything. I am really in love with the color choice. Would you share what yarn you used to make these slippers? Thanks for posting videos to help us along with patterns and crocheting
Hi Bobbi, Thank you for watching! 🍂 I used 2 lightweight size 3 acrylic yarns for this project. One was variegated and the other solid orange. Both of these are from my stash, neither had labels 💗
I also love the idea of holding solid color with a variagated. JaydainStitches, please tell that awful man to stop interrupting your tutorials. He is ruining your rhythm and is very disrespectful rude. I love your tutorial on these gorgeous slippers and I think you are a great teacher. ❤️
Jayda could you possibly,do a tutorial for the sharon klinsky shawl on the same pattern as the slipper socks you are making im loving these tutorials, and at the moment doing a blanket for my son with your tiny granny squares of 25 made into one huge granny square xxx
@@JaydaInStitches thank you Jayda I just love your work, energy 😘 and channel I did the slipper socks for my son but recently seen your pattern for slipper socks 🧦 the pink ones 😍 loved them xx
Hey everyone, just some info, use a small hot glue gun to make dots on bottom of any slippers you crochet or knit. The glue permanently adheres to the yarn n won’t come off when washed like fabric paint may eventually.
Ooo I have a friend who wants slipper socks. She's a size 8.5 (haven't been able to make it correct in size due to the ankle 😂). So i will email you via etsy tomorrow or Wednesday 😊 🎉
Hi Denise, we discussed this at length in the live, there were a few good ideas too: puffy fabric paint & those shelf-grip foam-like liner things are my 2 favourites 😊
@@JaydaInStitches thank you so much. I have a lady that wants 2 pairs of slippers, anti-slip and am having a hard time finding something. I haven't come across the discussion yet in the replay. Thank you again 🤗
Can you share the brand and color of the variegated yarn you used for the slipper. It's gorgeous, and would love to get it. Do you offered it in your shop?
Hi! That orange variegated yarn is a "mill end" I purchased in sales bin several years ago. No name, no brand, it was just acrylic and size 4 and came 4 skeins to a bag. I've had it in the stash for years and slippers felt like the right project to use it for 😊
Great tutorial but who is that rude guy interrupting you while you are speaking, every five minutes? He is very annoying and should stop. How much yarn is required in yardage for these slippers for a womans size? Also the orange variagated yarn you are using is gorgeous. What brand and color did you use.
Hi Martha, I have the original printing in a Leisure Arts booklet, but I know other people have published it on the internet (although I'm not sure if was with Leisure Arts permission). You can find it if you do a Google Search of "Sharon Klinsky Slipper Socks Pattern"
Hi Marisa, if you can find a cotton super bulky yarn, then you can follow the children's sizing and it should work out. I don't find 2 strands in a sock stays very stiff past the first or second wearing.
Jayda, I keep hearing on the lives about memberships. People gifting memberships and winning memberships, and welcome to the family and stuff. I don't understand what this all is - could you tell me? xx
Hi Wendy, many UA-cam channels now offer memberships. You can click on the Join button under any of our videos to see the full details, but essentially it's a way to help support the channel with a monthly paid subscription. Members get perks as a thank you. Recently UA-cam created a way for people to gift memberships during live streams. People who are watching live have to have "accept gifts for this channel" turned on (it usually pops up on your live chat feed during a live if you don't already have it turned on) and when someone purchases a membership gift, the algorithm awards the "gift" to someone in the chat. YT says that the algorithm decides who based on channel watch hours, how often they comment etc. I hope that helps!
Hi Cindy, it's an old pattern from Leisure Arts. If you search Sharon Klinsky Slipper Socks, you'll find the pattern has been reprinted in a few places around the internet for free 💗
It's basically a scaled up version of darning socks 😊 You have to knot off the broken yarn to keep it from unraveling further, then either patch or weave the hole closed with yarn and a yarn needle. Pay close attention to how brittle the yarn around the hole might be, you might want to anchor your stitches further out than just the "rim" of the hole.
Hi! If you need to continue with the round increase (toe section) the pattern would be *2 sc into the first st, sc into the next 4 sts* repeat 5 times for 30 sts.
Hi Margaret, this would really size down if you used the children's directions, a single strand of size 4 yarn and a 4.50 mm hook. Possibly even a smaller hook, depending on your personal tension 😊
Yes, and cotton blends, but I will say that a lot of cotton is about as strong as acrylic and you might put holes in your soles quicker than some other fibers. That said, try to find a cotton that is strong and well spun (like 24/7 by Lion Brand) rather than Bernat Handicrafter or Peaches n Cream because it's not as strong.
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful bootie ! I will definitely try this❤

Yes 5 pairs
Cotton like the cotton we use to make wash rags
That cotton (wash rag cotton) isn't especially strong, so mercerize cotton or cotton blended with nylon would be better 😊

Oh nuts I missed it again 😢. Old age & tiredness 😂
Hi Lorraine! 💗
2:00 is better for me
Is it possible to get a printed copy of the Sharon Klinsky Slipper Sock
Do you think tea shirt yarn would work in this pattern
Yes! The thick kind, like a really thick size 5 or even a size 6. Then you only need 1 strand.
How many rows around the tube part. Do you do. Before you just do the ribbing
How do you increase the 5th row to make 30 stitches around . A watcher from Alabama.
Hi! If you need to continue with the round increase (toe section) the pattern would be *2 sc into the first st, sc into the next 4 sts* repeat 5 times for 30 sts.
Would the ribbing on bottom hurt your heel
Is it possible to adapt this pattern for a baby or toddler?
Hi Margaret, this would really size down if you used the children's directions, a single strand of size 4 yarn and a 4.50 mm hook. Possibly even a smaller hook, depending on your personal tension 😊
Can you use cotton?
Yes, and cotton blends, but I will say that a lot of cotton is about as strong as acrylic and you might put holes in your soles quicker than some other fibers. That said, try to find a cotton that is strong and well spun (like 24/7 by Lion Brand) rather than Bernat Handicrafter or Peaches n Cream because it's not as strong.
