My friend worked as a carpenter with Harrison once. They were working on a big producer's home. As they were working, he asked him if he had done any acting lately, and he replied, "Yeah, it's called "Star Wars." My friend asked him what it was about, and he said, "it's like a space opera. I don't think he hates Star Wars, he just gets irrate with people who think he's a fan of Star Wars. He is not. If you wanted to talk about Star Wars as a film, a project he worked on, he's fine. But when you talk about it, like it really happened, he has none of it.
Mark Hamill said that while filming Star Wars, Harrison Ford had a notebook with him where he would write things related to the character of Solo, creating, for himself, a background story to justify Solo's actions and demeanor. You can't hate something if you are that involved. I think the perception that he hates Star Wars comes from the fact Lucas denied him what would have become a legendary cinematic heroic arc by having Solo die to save his friends and loved ones. I would have hated to see Solo die back then, but also, I can recognize he had a very good idea, and can understand what bugs him... Also, it would be fun to read what he came up with for Solo's motivations!

Thanks for this. Nobody but Ford could play Han Solo. Except one. Star Wars was partially inspired by Akira Kurosawa's magnificent film "Hidden Fortress," which begins with two fools in a desert, helping a princess find a pirate adventurer to regain her throne. The Han Solo character was Toshiro Mifune. I really liked this video except that I'd much rather hear Harrison Ford's trademark sexy growl than the narrator. Please let the actors speak for themselves rather than telling us what they are saying.
Ford certainly changed what a supporting actor meant in the industry. I think, my two favoutite leading roles of his were Hannover Street, and Bladerunner.

The Blade Runner voice over was not Ridley Scott's idea. It was done by the producers after the movie was taken away from Ridley. Also they didn't shoot in the Ennis house, they re created it. Enjoyed ur video, lots of info I didn't know. Cheers!
All the interior stuff, yes. There's one shot of his car coming through the gate in the rain that was shot at the Ennis house. Supposedly, one of the balcony shots was also done there, but I've never been able to pin that down. It could be a set, or it could be on the property. No real way to tell.

Hi acting style has been imitated, but not matched. Doesn't mean his acting style is universally liked. You either like him or you don't. Fortunately for him, most people like him, so he has had a great career. I liked him from the beginning, and thats just me. 🙂
I don't consider myself better than Spielberg -though perhaps a little more creative. The fact is that most Spielberg films are just nostalgic imitations of earlier movies, that may have had a tiny amount of Spielberg's budget, but better scriptwriting and storyline. But to beat these 2 movies: Indiana Jones and Star Wars to death with sequels realy exposes Spielberg's weaknesses.
I've been around for a while love Ford all my life for him it's a Job is a Job back then he hated fandom. You could tell he loved the love from Force awakens and Blade Runner at the cons. Old man now
This is why I hate AI voice-over. A real person could not have possibly mispronounced that many famous names. Poor Roger Ebert is rolling over in his grave.
I am 4 year younger than Harrison and my college tuition was $224 a year ... That's not room and board but tuition only ... So I find it hard to believe Harrison's tuition was $2000 a year 4 years earlier... Just saying something is off with the numbers being reported....
The numbers made me cringe everytime they came up on screen wrong. Also, the mispronunciation of such famous peoples’ names: Francis Ford Coppola, Peter Weir, Anne Heche, Ivan Reitman, Roger Ebert, etc. Drove me crazy.
My absolute favorite movie Harrison Ford played in is "ENDERS GAME"! As I have read this book ( at least 3x), the character was very strong and brought a sense of reality/emotion to the role. And there is "Indiana Jones and the Ark of the Covenant", fabulous work...
I enjoyed Ender's Game right up untill the part were they told the characters that they had been participating in a real battle and that it wasn't a training excerise. I'm sure that worked in the book, but in the movie it fell completely flat. I could see what they were trying to acheive but it just didn't trasnlate onto the screen which is a shame as it was pretty much the climax of the movie. There was simply no reaction in the theatre. That always stuck with me as I wondered how the director and producer couldn't see this when they were working on the film. Cheers!
Hello I was working at a house in LA back in 1976 ish Hanging Wallpaper Harrison ford was there making a water bed for the owner who's name was Fred Roos it's was a dumpy house in one of the caynons in the area He's was a real Pro and his work 2 to none This I think was before Star Wars because at that time I remember him as the guy who drove the 55 chevy in American Graffiti It's how it was back then Good times.
You do not fall in love with another, you fall for them. Love is one package, all the same and sacrificial. Passions for the flesh are NOT Compassion given.
You can literally see the moment on screen he starts hating Star Wars ! Watch the scene when Leia is singing to the Star Wars theme at the " Life day " celebration, the look on his face is hilarious!
Enjoyed this until there was mention that "Cowboys & Aliens" was the film that brought back the Western. That was done in 1993 by Clint Eastwood with "Unforgiven." Damn kids. Learn your history.
It isn't just mispronunciations of proper names. The entire script is littered with errors of grammar and non-sensical statements. Written by AI; I'm really starting to believe that the Dead Internet Theory is actually correct.
Oh my god, is this a deep fake robo-voice narration? This can’t be an actual human on an entertainment/pop culture type channel who doesn’t know who Roger Ebert is (Ebb-ert) or even Peter Travers (Tray-vers). The biggest move critic of all time and one of the Top 5 or 10 most well-known movie critics of all time, respectively. I try to be respectful of anyone who puts in the time to create content like this-but at the same time, this is the dude’s job. And also botching Ann Heche’s pronunciation (Hetch? WTF??).
While your biography is filled with good info, your graphics and name pronunciation need a recheck. Some dollar amounts need correction. Additionally, please correct your pronunciation of French words like "denouement " and names like Ebert and Travers to name just a couple. The errors are glaring and yank the audience out of the commentary.
...a story from The Mamas and the Papas’ Michelle Phillips as she settled in to watch Star Wars for the first time on the big screen, only to gasp: “That’s my pot dealer!” when Ford appeared on screen, much to the eternal surprise of the singer (“I didn’t even know Harrison was an actor.”).
I dunno... you should fire your editor. half of the numbers that are shown in the doc are wrong. eg it's quoted: "it collected twohundredandtwentymillion" and it is shown the number "21 million" (at 42:20). most of the numbers shown are just wrong. who typed that?! for anyone who's actually paying attention it's really annoying.
I agree! Wish he would of done more movies! I also wish we had normal movies to go see like this still, too. I really liked Blade Runner but wished it could of been more. At the time it was true Sci fiction. We allthought it was cool!❤😂

Well, it’s no wonder because Harrison has a pilots license. He has his own plane that he pilots.

@@celluloidtherapy5003 Prick? In what way is he a prick?
Except your talking about 70s Kurt Russel.
Kurt Russel wouldn't hit his stride until the 80s.
20:10 , 20:44 , 42:18 Congratulations on two million subscribers! ;)
He strikes me as a man who doesn’t suffer fools gladly.
Must have made it super hard working with the morons on Indiana Jones and the Dial of Dysentery then.
Except now he does.
Hi acting style has been imitated, but not matched. Doesn't mean his acting style is universally liked.
You either like him or you don't. Fortunately for him, most people like him, so he has had a great career.
I liked him from the beginning, and thats just me. 🙂
You forgot Regarding Henry =/
Thank you from a solid fan.
Mr. Harrison Ford Make It Happens!
Very Very Good Movies!🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
KALIMAAAAA !!!😎🇫🇮
And he says “some of the actors even got nominated for a golden raspberry” like that was a good thing! No, it’s not!
It's not a "Jim Morrison concert". It's The Doors.
This is inspiring. I'ma do some acting exercises on my day off, just because.
‘Hollywood homicide’ remains one of my favorite (comedy) action movies of all time…
At 20:11 you have displayed 3 million not 300 million as verbally stated. Just letting u know. Cheers.
Hard to imagine a world withou Harrison ford
I've been around for a while love Ford all my life for him it's a Job is a Job back then he hated fandom. You could tell he loved the love from Force awakens and Blade Runner at the cons. Old man now
This is why I hate AI voice-over. A real person could not have possibly mispronounced that many famous names. Poor Roger Ebert is rolling over in his grave.
Is the narrating voice AI or something!? Almost every name is said wrong! It's so weird.
I am 4 year younger than Harrison and my college tuition was $224 a year ... That's not room and board but tuition only ... So I find it hard to believe Harrison's tuition was $2000 a year 4 years earlier... Just saying something is off with the numbers being reported....
25:55 -- that's not Christopher Plummer, that's Frederick Forrest (who died recently).
I thought he was great in Falling Down.
He was in "Carnal Knowledge" with Jack Nicholeson and Candice Bergen!
The numbers made me cringe everytime they came up on screen wrong. Also, the mispronunciation of such famous peoples’ names: Francis Ford Coppola, Peter Weir, Anne Heche, Ivan Reitman, Roger Ebert, etc. Drove me crazy.
Interesting video
New Subscriber to this amazing channel. Can you do a biography of Max Von Sydow or Stellan Skarsgård, Thank you 🙏
My absolute favorite movie Harrison Ford played in is "ENDERS GAME"!
Cheers!
It´s Raiders of the lost Ark, not ark of the covenant. The fact you couldn´t even get that right..............eesh...
@@sonykroket Possibly a title used in a foreign country???

Love Harrison Ford.
HATE these narrators. You think you can manage to actually hear Ford talk???
Great video, but you kept showing his 2nd wife while talking about his first wife. More research on your photos...
The Union Station pictured in the clip is in Toronto.
Hello
I was working at a house in LA back in 1976 ish
Hanging Wallpaper
Harrison ford was there making a water bed for the owner who's name was Fred Roos it's was a dumpy house in one of the caynons in the area
He's was a real Pro and his work 2 to none
This I think was before Star Wars because at that time I remember him as the guy who drove the 55 chevy in American Graffiti
It's how it was back then
Good times.
32:06 Temple of Doom was released in 1984. Get your facts right
You do not fall in love with another, you fall for them.
Love is one package, all the same and sacrificial.
Passions for the flesh are NOT Compassion given.
Um, that's not Christopher Plummer @25:55 - that's the photo of Frederic Forrest you used earlier.
Imagine being forced to do the Star Wars Holliday Special, wouldn’t that alone cause you to hate Star Wars?!
You can literally see the moment on screen he starts hating Star Wars ! Watch the scene when Leia is singing to the Star Wars theme at the " Life day " celebration, the look on his face is hilarious!
wish the narrator's voice was more pleasant
Enjoyed this until there was mention that "Cowboys & Aliens" was the film that brought back the Western. That was done in 1993 by Clint Eastwood with "Unforgiven." Damn kids. Learn your history.
It isn't just mispronunciations of proper names. The entire script is littered with errors of grammar and non-sensical statements. Written by AI; I'm really starting to believe that the Dead Internet Theory is actually correct.
Seriously...the mispronunciations are crazy!? What human being has ever said Nick Nolt instead of Nick Nolt-EEEEEE.
and Evonne Reitman
And Anne Heche.
WTF??).
Oh that Peter "Wire." And Mike " Nicole." And Anne "Hetch." Roger "Ebbert." Names! Get the names right!
22:37 - Please note - The Jonathan Ross Show interview with Carrie Fisher was March 2016, not 1976.
This narrator pronounces incorrectly the names of SEVERAL famous personalities. WEIRD.
Thats because the narrator is AI
🤗Harry's got about a dozen films that I love even though he doesn't and that's all good🤗
Ford is right, he has not much he has has to say. If he weren't given script, who knows what he would say that would be worthwhile.
Your pics don't always jive with the narrative. His first wife was Mary, you pictured the second wife, Melissa. I didn't watch the whole thing.
There was also "Regarding Henry".
Please do Gary Oldman!! 46:46
His non franchise work in the 80’s was his best. I was there for it all and he wore it well.
I dunno... you should fire your editor. half of the numbers that are shown in the doc are wrong. eg it's quoted: "it collected twohundredandtwentymillion" and it is shown the number "21 million" (at 42:20). most of the numbers shown are just wrong. who typed that?! for anyone who's actually paying attention it's really annoying.
Dude look up the pronunciation of Names please! Peter Weir is not 'WIre' Nick Nolte is not 'Nol-tt'
Where is Sabrina?😢
Harrison Ford was born to be Indiana Jones and Han Solo :).... the best iconic roles ever
forgetting blade runner
I agree! Wish he would of done more movies! I also wish we had normal movies to go see like this still, too. I really liked Blade Runner but wished it could of been more. At the time it was true Sci fiction. We allthought it was cool!❤😂
Omg. You pronounce almost evey actor, director, critic and writer's name incorrectly! These are not hard to look up.
why don't you play more of his actual audio instead of you telling what he said?
