Just to point out - K-mart's not actually gone... technically. There's 6 stores left in operation - 3 in the US Virgin Islands, 1 in Guam, 1 in Florida, and 1 on Long Island. ... Ah, I see stick looked that up in the video. But did you know that K-mart bought Sports Authority in 1990 and sold it off in 1995. Other businesses owned at some point by K-mart: Waldenbooks, Borders, Office Max, and PayLess Drugs.

Kmart is actually still massive in Australia. There is over 300 stores and is one of the big retail stores alongside Big W here. Its their only international expansion that is still very profitable
KMART in Guam is one of their largest retail locations. The store boasts on roof parking.

i loved going to Kmart. my mom worked there forever and had a discount so me and my 2 younger sibilings always got to get a candy bar when we went there over walmart or price chopper, it also always looked so run down and abandoned it was fun to go with my aunt & cousin because she just let us run around the store, so me and my cousin would play hide and seek. finding all kinds of creepy nooks and crannys to hide in. also going to Kmart usually also meant going to lucky chinese 5 star american buffet kansas city (yes, that was the name of their resturaunt. the building was the ugliest building i have ever seen in my current 24 years of living. also closed not too long after the Kmart did), which was also very nice
also after it got abandoned, it got broken into, was made a stanky pit of homeless people for awhile. city finally did something about it, then covid hit, and they ripped the metal bars wrapped with barbed wire off the doors and windows, and turned it into a covid testing site for awhile. now it just sits surrounded by shopping strips, good resturaunts, skate city, a couple banks. so right in the center of all that is dead kmart

How things change. Back in the 80's, in Australia, I remember buying guns and ammunition from K-mart
That was before that madman went berserk at Port Arthur, now Kmart is still limping along (as is Target, again different company, same idea) but you definitely can't buy a gun there.
