I have visited Den Helder many times (I am a British sailor). Fantastic place, always been made very welcome! Cafe J.P. Dupont is great for beers and music!
It's interesting to see Den Helder again.. I live in the U.S. however, my family is from Den Helder.. My grandfather worked at the Rijkswerf during WWII while the remaining relatives were evacuated due to allied bombing. I have many good memories of Den Helder but, haven't been back in 25 years.. I guess, many of the aunts, uncles, grandparents have long passed away and it probably wouldn't be the same experience for me.. Back in the day, Den Helder was clean and a mostly windy city.. Unfortunately, it was considered by many in Holland to be quite boring in regards to nightlife and restaurants.. I would agree that Den Helder was not the best city to go out and party... It was difficult for some establishments to be successful in Den helder because the residents are thrifty.. Geen cent teveel!
As a native UK resident I have always found Den Helder welcoming. Good shops supermarkets and cafes. Similar in many ways to Great Yarmouth where I love to take holidays in the UK (the only place they put mayonnaise on chips in the UK)
Well Well Congratulations Murat Your cinematography presentation is revealing your talent in communication and editing skills. From a ex editor (30yrs carrire ) Have a good day Enjoy
I think you are correct, Navy museum. Marine could just mean ocean or water? I remember your visit back in the Spring. 'The silent service'. Submariners are a different sort. I want to get there, maybe next visit. Great editing too on this one. I enjoy the trains. Food looked wonderful. Fun time. Thanks. Looks like great weather for you today, enjoy the day today.
Great video, if you like fishing or boating you can book tours also to see seals. Or hire a canoe. And if you like walking you can do a Napoleon tour which take you along some fortresses/bunkers. There is also a climing forrest. And it’s always nice to visit the beach and dunes.
For your next visit some tips: There's a market in the centre on saturdays. The Kijkduin Fortress is impressive. If you have little kids take them to the Helderse Vallei (no admission fee!) to check out the fallow deer (Bambi) and mingle with baby goats. There are two meme-food options nearby; a snackbar (kroket, frikandel) and a pancake house (Dutch pancakes are the bomb).
Hi Murat The man how never Stop. Just wondering if you intend to cover Rotterdam Rooftop Walk ?¿? As it becoming a worldwide conceptual fad as well a major tourist attraction . Just in case your where going to take a break 😉 Take care
as someone who lives here this is one off the best videos i have seen about this city bc all the other videos are really negative!
Ah thanks very much, i also liked your comment because it s very honest. 💫

You know the Netherlands, it was hot in the morning, now heavy raining in the evening :)
Marine is the dutch word for Navy.

Den Helder etymologically comes from "Hel-deur" (Hell-door)
because of the fearcy water storms between Den Helder and the isle of Texel....
Brilliant info, thanks a lot 👍👍
Wajo wist ik ni eens
The sea was always calm when I visited:-)

Great Views. Thanks Murat.
My pleasure, thanks Bernd!
When I was in the submarine, there were people which gave more cramped feeling inside.
I prefered the normal ships
