I do really like the idea of the Ninja Turtles' weapons each being a complimentary foil to their personality because weapons are an extension of the self, so it helps to strengthen their weaknesses which is what's most important to keep them safe in combat.
I do *love* seeing that kind of thought going into stories, it's what happens when the people making it actually care and it's a good indicator that you're watching something worth investing in.
Since I can't "Well actually" them in the past I'll do it here. Weapons were banned for non-samurai after the conclusion of the Sengoku Jidai, the main war we associate with samurai.
Apparently there were a series of attacks using nunchuks so they were banned. I remember watching a video saying the opening of TMNT cut out the part with Michelangelo

Nunchucks are basically the fidget spinners of the ninja turtle arsenal. of course the ADHD turtle has them.
never quire noticed until 8:00 but Skallagrim kinda looks like if Tom had an evil twin.
Oh gods... I can't unsee that now 😂

Honestly, hearing that "ninja stuff" was banned in the UK may be the single lamest thing I've ever heard and I'm an American.
