In 2024 my first time watching 😎
Omg
Me too
I'm just now realizing that when I was a kid, my dad and I stood in line for 3 hours in the sweltering, Florida heat just to watch this 17 minutes of awesomeness!! 😂
You have a good Dad
WORTH IT!!!!
@@JessicaChastainFan Absolutely 💯
I remember going to this to 😃 in Universal Studios in Florida I think and I be wondering who else went as a kid and remembered...
@iamsylar789 I remember the Stove D version and I think I have to admit I am not sure but we had several times in LA and I was just a kid and remember that you would be hard to find a bigger star before and after EO than the MJ here. Pretty cool yeah pretty Disturbed young man. Perhaps they should be more open about his life so That Others May learn. Anyways, take care thanks for reading
Hooter really be stressing the shit out of his captain😭
Hooter was the real villain of this film 😤
7:49
Why the deepest dungeon? Why never a nice shallow dungeon suite with wifi? 😂
I think that's why he ended up playing keyboards at Jabba's palace.
Cant stand hooter gahh!!!! 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I dont think MJ received enough credit how well he adapted to each era. He molds so well in the 80s as he did in the 70s. He even did pretty decent in the 90s-00s
I honestly think his voice was best suited for 90s and 2000s R&B
He didn't just adapted to the ares. He also shaped and molded them.
That's why Michael is the king.
Yeah he was always at the forefront
MJ invented heavy metal. 🤘🏼
I watched this once as a kid at Disneyland and I never forgot it. It still has a special place in my heart
Me too
Me too!
Me too! It was my first 3D movie
@@MeMe-yp9bjoh yes cant forget the glasses
Same ❤ wish I could get a copy of this and the little stuffed flying guy lol
It's like Star Wars, He-Man, Wizard Of Oz, Alien and the Thriller video combined into a Voltron of awesomeness.
It was entertaining. If I didn't know better she looks like Star Treks Borg Queen.
@@mrbassman1972 This film was an inspiration for the Borg.
@@rpedro3 I seen it at epcot center years ago and there was a ride for it. It was fun but i was a kid then.
@@rpedro3 Yep, that is correct, this was the inspiration behind The Borg itself.
@@GenGamesUniverseno way serious! That defiantly explain why star trek insignia is hidden in plain site inside the star wars star tours ride at Disneyland in CA!
This was the place for my elderly grandparents to take a little rest after walking us around Disneyland all day. May they RIP
This is basically what would happen if Michael Jackson was in Star Wars, instead of simply using the Force, he Dances to Power of the Music of the Force, and This is the result, long live Captain EO aka Space Michael Jackson.
True! I think he would adapt his fighting style to music. Like he’d be in a cantina and change up with the bands flow. He’s the hip Jedi knight who’s a regular at the couresant nightclubs.
** I imagine he’d be surrounded by Weequays, who probably have no rhythm at all, and the Bith musicians would mess around and have him change up his moves.
Space channel 5
Michael Jackson was such a cool guy.
100
a legend and icon there will never be another
This makes me so freaking happy. I miss this time in life. I remember they had tv’s in line with the behind the scenes rehearsal playing while we waited for what seemed like hours! Totally worth the wait! Oh Captain EO, you are my childhood in a nutshell.
This showcased a lot of Jackson's best moves . it is 2024 and I just saw it for the first time great stuff.
Oh man it was so amazing watching it as a kid growing up around Disney all my life. I watched it at DL probably 50 times. 😂
Captain Eo is somewhere in space either exploring or in his own planet....I miss MJ.
A nous aussi...
Man... Im still waiting on a captain EO comic, show, movie or something
I finally got to see this and I love it. I Miss You Michael ❤
me too
No, he is Dave, I saw that. Michael would say "I miss you to", never "Me too"!
@@abdurashidmuhamedov5179 what I meant was I got to see that movie too and I liked it, and I miss Michael too obviously
@@DaveFisher-cq2dr I know)
@@DaveFisher-cq2dr I'm back, Dave, because for some reason I thought that wasn't polite of me, just to say I know. So, I wish you best in your life and see the better world!)
15:50 Mind you, youngsters. When we saw this moment in 3D during the late 80's/ early 90's the whole audience jumped up and woudnt stop talking about it for days. Quite literally the first encounter with 3D for almost everybody at that time.
People in the theatre at Disneyland would act crazy with those 3D glasses - it was so Incredible when it was brand new and it still is.
I saw this in the early 2000’s as a kid when I went to Disneyland back then
I remember working there in the 90s, it was awesome.
I was thinking that was a weird shot. Why did they do that? Then i saw your comment about the 3D and now it makes a lot of sense. I wasn't there so i imagine how epic this must have felt.
I remember grabbing at it in the air lol
This has to be without a doubt the most 1980's thing I have ever seen!
Had the opportunity to see this at Disneyland after MJ died. It made me cry❤ the soundtrack and just production was insanely amazing
I was at the Hospital visiting a friend when they brought him in and pronounced his Death.
I worked at Disneyland when it was still in the theater.
I had that opportunity as well. I was at Epcot a few weeks after he passed and the line was long to see this show. It was worth it. I remember the crowd cheering when he rose up from the floor. Surprised he didn't break into more acting roles. He's not bad as an actor.
My Dad laughed out loud every time MJ said the name “hooter.”
Michael Jackson and Max Rebo fight the Borg Queen. Those were the days.
😂
Best summary for this film I ever saw...
I like Captain EO
Captain EO was the first thing I saw Michael Jackson in. I was 7 years old. I instantly became a Michael Jackson fan. However, when I was 7 before I knew his name, I called him the dancing guy. Thank you so much for posting this, it brings back such good memories. Love you more Michael❤
OMG I WAS THE SAME I SAW IN DISNEY WHEN I WAS 4
@kaylaskreations4973 That's awesome!! 😊. Greatest thing to see as a kid. I wish Disney would bring it back.
'the dancing guy".....too funny 😂😂
Did MJ just de-assimilate the whole borg planet by singing and shooting sith lightning at the borg queen and others?
Thank you so much for posting this. I have sweet memories as well when we first got to see this attraction at Disneyland. I don’t remember how old I was but Michael Jackson who cares he’s forever he doesn’t have an age and now I don’t either.
I was there for opening day to watch this. I hugged Michael Jackson that day.
Here is how that happened...
I was born and raised in Daytona Beach we always had season tickets. When we got there, Micky Mouse was out front hugging the kids, and I always would hug Micky.
We stayed all day till the fire works at night. We watched this movie, and in the theater, there were seats that would shake and smoke that would film the theater 🎥 the sound was wild, and the wind would blow. This was all interactive with the scenes of the movie.
At the end of the night, like I said when the fireworks were about to go. We heard in the announcement that Michael Jackson was there all day to see how much people were enjoying his movie release in Disney. Then they told all of us that he was in the Micky Mouse custom all day.
So yeah, people lost their shit after that, lol
It was also on the news the next day, and that drove tickets sales sky high.
Well, I hope you enjoy that story and maybe you were there that day.
They should have preserved this attraction.
It got perversed no pun intended 😁
Totally agree by Michael Jackson being the king of pop, that was something very rare that Disneyland could have kept for all to see, but I guess he didn’t know Michael Jackson’s worth.
Just got hip to this. I dont wanna hear nothing about Beyonce or Drake till they've hit this level😤😤
How did I not EVER find out about this? Huge MJ fan and this was never on my radar. This is a nice surprise for 2023. R.I.P. MJ
It was a show at Disneyland back in 89 in 3D ......it was amazing ! Went back into it with my day pass at least 4 times
@@jerrysetlerr770 Also shown at Disney Epcot Center from 1986 to the 2000s. Was always a favorite of ours to get out of the Summer heat in Florida when I went a bunch in the mid 80s and only couple times in the 90s. Amazing to see this in stereo and good picture.
the best short science fiction films of all time.
Michael was always about changing the world ...a world that didn't deserve him... except us TRUE fans❤& thank you for this b/c I never been to D.W.& would have never seen this lol
Same!
There's a great reason why Michael Jackson was well known for making music videos into short films.
Because he made music videos into short films?
@@dorathedestroyer770 Well, there's more than just that, actually.
He is just a soldier of love❤❤❤❤
Michael Jackson is so cool 😍
Youngster cannot even comprehend the sock of experiencing for first time a 4D movie with polarized goggles and practical effects within the theater. I watched it during the opening year of Eurodisney. There is no substance in the plot technically and artistically the movie is awesome.
This was really the peak of Michael Jackson Ever. He was now the king of the world. This is what he is for me. Still every where I go, I always hear Michael Jackson. Every party, every terrace, every holiday. He is still in every ear ln this world. It is an unbelievable story. He is one of the loves of my life.
I just love how makes he songs into stories.
This UA-cam channel is an absolute game-changer in the Michael Jackson short film preservation world. As a Michael Jackson super fan since 1982 I can't thank you enough for these short films remastered.
何回見ても大好き
東京ディズニーランドにまた復活してくれないかなあ…!
Thought about this short film for the longesttttt time. I remembered it as a child and thought I had a fever dream lol.
I can't believe I'm watching this for the first time! What a treat to be watching something so silly but so iconic at the same time! I mean, it WAS MJ's first sci-fi movie!
I saw in Disneyland thousands of times. It was magic. Michael was so sweet in this movie❤❤❤
When I was a young man, I had a chance to see this after waiting in line for a couple of hours. Well worth the wait. After rewatching, I find corny as hell but I had a smile on my face the whole 17 minutes. MJ was a masterful entertainer.
hooter is a menace.😂
I saw this at Disneyland in 1988. It had a 10,000 watt speaker system. I also saw Adventures Thru Inner Space in 1967. I've seen just about every attraction the park has had to offer. It gets better every year!
My favorite part of Disneyland as a kid. Unexpectedly saw the final showings and then after Michael's death went the first day of its return. Hopefully one day it will get a proper re-release. 💘
I'm still praying it comes back
It was my favorite show too at Disneyland...went in several times a day when we were there in 89 .
It's been a while, but if I recall correctly the -massive- arcade was right across the street from the Captain EO theater. It was such a happenin' corner of Disneyland back in the 80's! The food court (with bands) was right around the corner, and of course Space Mountain, too.
The roadblock is they would have to pay everybody involved.
the original Guardians of the Galaxy
Don't get it twisted brnuh,This is good but not like Guardians of the Galaxy😊!!!!!
If you don’t get chills everytime Hooter finally hits that note, get out! Incredible video! Great work!!
I always wince
Almost 4 decades ago, it’s 1987, I enjoyed this movie at Tokyo Disneyland………man, I’ve never thought that I’ll see it again!
I have to applaud the practical effects for the time, it was awesome in 3D back in 1991. Love and will always miss MJ.
Dude speechless, everything MJ did is brilliant and undeniable!
I was 8 when I got to experience this for the first time. Prior to the internet and UA-cam being a thing I had completely convinced myself this was a fever dream I had. I could somewhat hum tunes from this to myself but couldn't ever quite explain where I had heard it. AND THEN 25 years later I found it! What a special classic experience it truly was
First time I saw this at EPCOT after they brought it back after MJ’s death, and MJ makes his appearance, the whole crowd lost it.
Anjelica Huston's character is very Borg Queen esq and quite menacing!! Maybe the Star Trek TNG staff were inspired by her portrayal.
This was before TNG. It’s been said Michael wanted the character to be scary.
Yes, I know that.@@RocStarr913
I saw Captain EO a few times in the 80s and was fortunate enough to see it in 2015 when it was brought back to Epcot . It brought back memories of my childhood and also gave me a new understanding of it . The music , dancing , and the message of this movie made it a special memory for me .. I hope they bring it back to Epcot once again
3rd time I went to Disney world I was fortunate enough to see this in person. Thank you for uploading this. Always brings tears to my eyes knowing that ppl dislike or don’t appreciate mj. ❤
every time i went to epcot as a kid we always stopped by
such great memories
A lot of people don't like people who touch kids, lol.
Only people that don’t like Michael are the brainwashed suckers who fell for the propaganda.
….Michael Jackson Did Nothing Wrong.
I worked the ride in ‘88 at Disneyland best internship I ever had ❤
Crazy to see this almost 40 years after seeing it in Disneyland as a child... it always amazes me how my mind from that age "improves" the special effects when I recall it. It was cool to see it again though.
The special effects were amazing, you aren't imagining it!
This came out the year I was born. It's my birthday today, and I got something from my dad about different things that happened that year ❤😊
6:08 POV: it's 3am and your trying to get some snacks from the kitchen with your sibling(s) without waking up your parents
Saw it the first summer available at Disneyland. Could not believe my eyes... 16 years old and ended up seeing it 10 times. The greatest project he ever did.
this will always be disney's most anticipated film to see while being in the theme park. no other movie was this good and got this many sales. i remember being a little kid and waiting an hour and a half at disneyland to see this and you'd see everyone walking around in an eo shirt. i even have one myself.
This is peak Michael Jackson. I always loved the sound effects with dance moves! Was not alive in the 80s but saw this at Disney after he died.
honestly the best movie ever created in the whole world
WE ALL MISS U MICHAEL
😢😢😢
Saw this more than another ride at Disney when I was a kid in 89 .....it was powerfull 3D and sound was amazing .
I remember this at Disneyland!
We miss U, King. ❤
You WERE magic, MJ and no doubt that you would have been an incredible actor too, Better than every great actor roped in one! Love you Most, Applehead! 🖤
this is crazy im 37 and im seing this for the first tiem ever
This is a work of utter genius on all levels. Miss this kind of production.
Captain EO’s costume somewhat reminds me of his HIStory outfit
It was either 1986 or 1987. My Dad made my Mom and sister go to DisneyLand just so we could watch this movie and I the part I seem to remember the most is the part where that flying bird thing came out of the screen (in 3D) and hundreds of people (mostly kids) were pointing up at it and the seats shook in-sync with various low-frequency sound effects/events in the film. True story!

Fuzzball ✔️
I was expecting the musical scene to be cringe but MJ is so talented that make it look cool. #King 👑
Loved this back then and love it even more now. ❤
I stood in line for 2 hours to see this at Disney when I was a kid. The water fountain in front of the entrance was great. Does anyone remember the water fountain out front??
I remember the water seem like it was jumping out. Man I watched this twice at Disneyworld in the 80's. Man this was so rare. I swear it was in 3D.
Kool. Yeah inwas fascinated by the water. Still one of the best 3D experiences I ever had.
@@charlzincharge2281 it was in 3D!
I was crazy about Captain EO in my youth. When we went to Disneyland it was a obligation to watch it.
Classic never gets old like Michael Joseph Jackson ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤love you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤and Cather mommy daddy love you baby ❤❤❤❤
We are just another part of you Michael. REST IN POP
Anytime I'm sad.. I watch this. When he died.. So did a bunch of magick.. Now we just keep slipping into darkness. We need this magick back.
I saw it opening weekend at Disneyland. Got to the park at 2:30am Line was all the way out of Tomorrowland and down Main Street. We got in to the theater around 5am. Was a crazy night.
My daughter still has the stuffed animals from Captain Eo. She does not keep much from childhood but she will not give up Fuzzy! She is 42. So much fun.
amazing Michael Jackson captain eo
😢😢😢 Everytime we went to Disneyland no rollercoaster no Food first thing was jumping in line to watch Captain EO
His moves really were out of this world 🌎 bring back our angel Michael Jackson ❤
thank you for uploading this!! captain EO was my favorite part of disneyland and still is. i was so happy when they brought it back temporarily to commemorate him 😭 watching it again brings me so much joy. i just love how his powers zaps those trash people into his backup dancers, and that evil lady was getting a migraine from the music and dancing until she got zapped; michael jackson is literally so OP. the sound effects of his dancing moves are forever endearingly burned in my memory (fht-fht! fht-fht!). i miss mj so much. he was too good for this world. rest in peace, king.
i remember i had this dvd that showed the making of this and i remember michael actually got hit with one of the whips during rehearsal 😭
I went to Disney when I was 4 years old in 2010 and saw this and it’s the only thing I remember so clearly, it was sign that my destiny was to be a Michael Jackson Fan
This was my favorite part of Disneyland... MJ was the greatest!
If you need any proof the 80s were the greatest decade of all time, watch this film.
What the movies and video games taught everyone is that if you are MJ enemy he's going to make you dance.
One of the best mj movies 😎😊
The film looks fantastic I have never seen this before
why disney prefer making toy story 5? instead of remastering Captain EO
this is underrated i think, legendary
Je trouve que Disney à vite oublié Mr Jackson 😢😢😢
@@choupinette17 sadly
They showed this again in Disneyland Paris when he died. With the 4D Cinema Effects it still was amazing,, even it has some age on it.
I think our world 🌎 really needs Michael Jackson right now with so much sadness and he was like a true angel from another planet and he's been taken away from us 😢 💔 he's so missed 😢 loved so much
Oh wow, I remember this one but didn’t have the chance to see it until now, I’m 75….thank you for sharing this, awesome ….RIP MJ, may you rest in God’s loving arms and eternal heaven…..👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Saw it as a kid, saw this again when it came back when MJ passed away. Awesome.
Ok this must be how Angelica Huston got the role of the grand high witch in The Witches. Same voice and hand movements. Good stuff.
MJ reused the thriller dance LMao
MJ moves and voice so perfect... best multitalented performer ever with a huge heart. His voice so dang sexy. Love the little elephant and creatures
I worked on this attraction and I loved watching peoples reactions. The children were especially charmed on this ride.
An absolute genius in performance! Every time I watch this film, it evokes a profound sense of nostalgia and inspiration.
I deeply miss Michael Jackson; I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have matured listening to his music and witnessing his unparalleled creativity come to life, sparking inspiration not just within a generation but across the globe. ❤
😢Loved this!!!
Angelica absolutely beautiful 😍
6:05 when I first watched this in 3D I was frighten because it was gonna get me.
Of the many things I love about this work and have learned more about over the years, I like how Micheal would conduct job interviews for potential dancers in character as Captain EO🤠
So all it took was Michael Jackson to defeat the Borg.
Watching this video for the 1st time is awesome. It's like Michael Jackson meets star wars. 🤖👾🔫
I also did not know that the song JUST ANOTHER PART OF ME came from Captain EO.😀
Same here
Funny you should say that ...that WAS Hooter from return of the Jedi...
