Enjoyed this video - thanks guys! 😃For this ale recipe can you use normal granulated sugar or does it have to be brewing sugar (what's the difference?) It appears you used dry yeast for one batch and rehydrated yeast for the other- does it make any difference (I only even used dry yeast direct into the wort). Given that you only gave the beer a score of 6, is there anything you'd do differently next time? Happy New Year guys and here's to many happy brewdays in 2023!! Cheers🍻
Hi Mike, just catching up with the comments. Thanks for your great questions. In our opinion yes you can use ordinary granulated sugar, just be careful when adding so it doesn't fall to the bottom and burn. Regarding the yeast, be led by the packet. We generally pitch dry these days but rehydrate in a yeast starter is the best. This video was actually taken 18 months ago. Since then we have found a better recipe for speckled hen... 8+. Let us know if you want it and I can email it over. Happy new year my friend and happy brewing in 2023🍻
I’m thinking of getting the klarstein ( not sure if 25 or 30L yet) Could you do it with no spare? Just raise the grain basket and let it drip out while to get up to the boil? Thanks.
Most packet yeasts only brew 23 litres. Does this help you decide? Or.... would you prefer to have a pump? Does the 30 come with a pump? Thanks for the question bud. 🍻
Hi Dian, you make a very good point. I am slowly 🐌 getting to grips with editing and the sound mixing often let's me down. It's a work in progress, I hope you persevere with us till I get the levels right. Happy brewing🍻
Another good videos lads 👍 I need to start getting back into brewing asap!
