Thanks for all the information on Peking Opera. I knew that this was a 300+ year old traditional Chinese opera house because I saw an earlier video that showed everyone walking in, and luckily the cameraperson panned the Heritage plaque on the outside of the opera house, so I googled it. I knew that there were different kinds of Chinese opera - like Peking opera vs Beijing opera vs Cantonese opera (and maybe more). I didn't know the differences. It's fun to hear that The Drunken Concubine was Peking Opera. It looked to me like Dimash was being asked to play a part in an opera, without being told which part it was.
I think he was caught off guard right there when suddenly he was asked to imitate female roles in the opera. It looks like he didn't want to be disrespectful by not correctly doing it. Also they are legit female roles and he's probably intimidated by that since he's the only man on stage asked to do it. it would be different if Mr. Li Yugang was there too.❤
