Denmark's Samsø Island! 5 Places to Visit on a Weekend Getaway

It was getting to that point in lockdown, where you feel you just need to get away even for a Weekend Away!
Not having options to leave Denmark, with many places still looking at entry for "essential" travel only, we decided on a weekend away close to home. Samsø (or Samso, or Samsö) Island, was our choice of destination this time for our Denmark Travel experience.
Only a couple of hours from home and a slow one hour ferry ride away (from near Kalundborg Denmark) it allowed us to get away after work on Friday and return on Sunday in the evening. Samsø Denmark, feels like you are really away from Copenhagen, even though it is not far in reality. The scenery, the atmosphere, the speed of life; everything is very different in Samsö. For me, so far, of all the places in Denmark I have been, Samsø Island (it is btw one of the many Danish Islands) is probably the one I enjoyed the most.
There is much to see and do on such a small island. Samsø offers loads or nature to hike, many nice small cafés and restaurants on this cosy Danish Island. Basically, just a lot to keep you happy and and relaxed. Next time though I definitely want to try walking around the Island and camping out.
