My 5 year old nephew was obsessed with this movie when it came out, it’s nice to see the new generation get a movie that rekindled the love for scooby-doo, after he watched this movie I showed him all the classic scooby-doo shows/ movies and he loves them
I am a huge fan of Scooby Doo. I couldn't watch this movie though. The way they snubbed the actual voice actors who voice these characters for non voice actors with big names is insulting. These actors didn't even try to sound like the characters they were playing.
Hanna-Barbera cartoons always had a shared universe all the way back in 60's. The cartoons had constant crossovers with not just characters but locations and storylines as well. These crossovers would regularly happen even outside of specials. They were so regular that it would just randomly happen in episodes like they were always part of the same show.
Having a connected universe is fine though all the individual elements need to be introduced in their own stories before you think about bringing them together. A huge studio shouldn’t need to be told that story is more important than the brand, yet time and time again WB makes these same mistakes with everything they own.
Other things that "technically" exist in the Scooby-Doo cinematic universe (thanks to the Ghoul School crossover episode with "OK K.O. Lets be Heroes") include but are not limited to: Sonic the Hedgehog, Captain Planet, RPG World (the webcomic), Teen Titans, Steven Universe and Little Witch Academia.
This was an era when WB is more concerned with making an expansive cinematic universe with more plans compared to a human lifespan than a standalone where people may enjoy and naturally want more. Many cinematic universes are built on the grounds of a proper standalone that leave people wanting for more. Like many sequels back then.

Superman has exactly FIVE additional characters outwith those you’d expect in a story involving Superman.
Gunn is in charge of the DCU and I have absolute faith a huge comic book fan like he is can showcase an established connected universe like we see constantly in the comics themselves.
This is something fans specifically have stated they’ve wanted to see since we first saw live action takes, let the man cook!
Hey I just happened to notice Merleys mansion them playing in the background around here 5:25. I’ve seen a surprising amount of UA-camrs use super paper Mario music in their vids recently!
Well at least it’s better than how the Velma series turned out.
This felt like half the studio executives were on one side of this movie and the other half were on the other. I want a single , one , Uno. Scooby movie done true to the source material but then the other half is I want to build a cinematic universe.
Scoob could have done so much better. But the hidden inuendos & the reboot of only dastardly & muttley (no zilley & klunk).
Even captain caveman had a cameo.
It showed how cheap they got.
I think they just honestly put too much into one movie. If this had been 90 mins and was just about Mystery Inc helping Blue Falcon and Dyno-Mutt, it would have gone over a lot better. I imagine they will try this again eventually, assuming Disney doesn't buy WB in the next five years and all over the legendary content WB owns gets vaulted away to the depths of D+
This movie was originally gonna come out on my birthday (5/15/2020) but got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic! 😷
I kinda liked the movie though! 🐾
Although I've heard that this was originally gonna be a generic Hanna Barbera crossover movie where a lot of the characters was gonna appear to defeat Dick Dasterly but they then turned it into what we know today!
I wonder if Toho would have also had an effect on why there isn't any expansion to this universe
(cause I don't know why they would want godzilla in there)
WB could easily make more without including Godzilla so no, it’s not the reason.
IT HAS BEEN FOUR WHOLE YEARS!!!???
I kind of liked SCOOB! It wasn’t a phenomenal movie by any means but there was quite a bit stuff that I enjoyed
Paw patrol aaah animation when i first saw it
I'm truly grateful that years later no one remembers or gives a shit.
This movie was over marketed in the theaters , if I Remeber right. Then I never saw it and ended up seeing it on hbo max and had a sour taste in my mouth after words and almost forget I loved this franchise but then I went and watched the James Gunn and the original show clips one and Remeber why.
I only watched one good version of Scooby Doo. It is not this.
It was Velma wasn’t it!
All that and still no appearance from Giganta.
She's really a DC Character, not Hanna-Barbera
@@thefantasticretroreviewer3941 I know. But didn’t she appear in the Hanna Barbera show?
@@gianthand8130 No.
Not unless you're counting Scooby-Doo and Krypto Too
@@thefantasticretroreviewer3941 Kinda.
@@gianthand8130 Maybe that's why you thought she'd be in the Film
To be honest, Sega should have merged with Warner Bros, instead of Discovery. It could have been a Japan-based Company
You guys need to learn!!!! Marvel dc every big ip if you want avengers box office numbers or end game numbers build your world take your time sprinkle your hints it took endgame 10yrs to build the cast good an bad movies. It was a good movie but has the same issue as these new movies
I'll be honest, Not a fan of the character design much, Huh actually more on the Art style that it takes up, But the cameos of Her other work and the Backstory of Scoob was What I loves the most about the film Other than that Not much to it
What is this comment section? I loved this movie.
So do I.
It doesn't deserve a lot of hate.
Shrek the third please
WB has so much stuff that if planned and handled with care the right way. They would take out everyone. They have super heros , tons of animation for kids and a streaming service that is Probaly b if I were to give it a letter grade. This studio needs a Elon musk type to take over its board.
I so would if I had that type of money 😂
I didn’t mind this movie but I admit it was very weird
Never seen Scoob and never will, and as I'm watching these clips of the movie in your video, the movie looks so uninteresting already. The design and animation style looks so samey and CTRL X+V of other 3d media. I don't have a clear example in mind but I know that the movement feels so familiar and basic as a style adopted by many other media
A great idea, brilliant concept but badly executed.
I’ll be honest I don’t think I’ll be able to watch the Garfield movie.
Never bothered with this, seemed like a mess then and sounds like it still is a mess now.
I have it dvd
