Hi there iggy. It is possible if you use saddle feathers. A feather from a cape is often not long enough, it aso depends on how sparse you like the hackles ;)
Thats true and the original way to do it. It also gives you that taper you want to achive if you start with the but-end of the feather. And no, you don't need a saddle for it. Whiting 4b works just fine, as do Cod de Leon:)
