“THE OLD MAN” TO THE RESCUE! Drag Week competitor breaks down and calls for HELP!

- Yall already know how much I enjoyed Sick Week last January. Although we had many issues with Billy’s 55, the comradery made the trip so much fun.
So many people stopped to help or ask if we needed parts. So this week while the Hot Rod Drag Week event was going on at our local track, I had an opportunity to pay back the generosity when Charlie Kay from Brooklyn New York broke down in Columbus on his way back from Michigan.
His Big Block Monte Carlo broke a shaft rocker arm and Charlie needed it replaced asap.
With Jegs showing “out of stock” Charlie felt he was completely “out of luck” but thanks to some of his fellow competitors, he was able to get in touch with me. Thanks to our stash of spare rocker arms, I thought I had what he needed. But after driving his 540ci Big Block Chevy over 200 miles with a broken rocker arm, I wasn’t sure the lifter and push rod would be reusable.
Charlie was sitting in 3rd place going into the final day. So, OMG to the rescue!
The Hoskinson Family's videos are genuine. Nothing fake. That's what us fan's love the most. Thank you.
You have no idea how much your kindness to Charlie meant to him. Not all heroes wear capes. Thank you for saving the day!!
Ol uncle bucko high as a kite rollin in there! 🤣
That car was cool
uncle bucko introduced Jr to the other fields of green 🤣
Oh boey
All the time
It reminds me of being a Soldier, no man ,or Women left behind. So blessed to be of my generation. 75 years old, and still kicking. You are a family who sets a bar, that all should strive to achieve, May God bless us all.
I wish I was your age I worked for a man your age in a machine shop that completely changed my life for the best, hearing him and my grandpa tell stories about the 60s and 70s and the cars, I was born in the wrong era I don't fit in with people my age. I'm 34 and all my good friends are over 60
@@MVPisME383 HAHAHAHA "I was born in the wrong era HAHAHA. I don't fit in with people my age lolol

Very well said! Thank you.
76 here, retired Army and still kicking! God bless!
Wow. Blast from the past. I remember watching Charlie race that same car in the street in Brooklyn in the late 80s early 90s. Original OG he was ahead of the curve back then. Nice to see he’s still at it,with same car
The greatest feeling in the world to me is being able to pay it forward and help someone out.
100 % , never retreat,no surrender. Simper Fi.
The Taylor family are awesome to watch!!!!!!!! Thanks for helping them out.

The look on his face after the car and at the track said it ALL. BILL your family is top notch that is why we all wait for more !

Always Always BIG SMILES all around in our house when it's time for "Old Man's Garage" on the tube! Always a good time for sure! This and SRC are some of the most enjoyable videos going!
You guys Work the Hell out of Uncle Bob... and all of the big time sponsors but I DIDN'T SEE BOBS stamp on that new T-Shirt... Wow! What a gut Punch😮
I didn't get a good look, but if that's correct, that's pretty messed up.
@@mikeday8826 Hit Pause once the Tshirt shows. No McVay Engines!

Good times. Good. People.
Very cool of you to help Charlie.. He mentioned Kaje Jones, I remember hanging with him at Englishtown many moons ago.. Those were the days.
Gotta say it. I love the chicken coop. New stuff is awesome but old stuff has always been awesome.
That was very enjoyable content 😌 thanks for sharing 😊.
Once again Bill you come thru for the sport!!! Thanks again for what you and your family do for drag racing and the sport!!! Thanks a million your awesome !!!
Uncle Bob needs a go pro or something to film content at the shop. I'd love to hear him do some voice overs, he's got a ton of knowledge and he's pretty dang funny too.
We in South Africa as drag race fans like your content,as we have a lively race community down here. So when you guys vote think of us and who is anti us, so our economy can survive and can keep on racing.stay safe and good luck
Hell yea OMG!
Gotta love the drag, drive and repair events.
Again, y’all show what great people do when someone needs help. I hope you are inspired others to help people in need. Keep up the good work.
"Thats what it is all about" helping each other. Instead of tearing each other down over things like money, politics or any thing else divisive. Life should be more like the drag n drive community. Do good, help others. Excellent video bill as always 👍
That's what its about one guy helping out another guy in his pursuit of glory and happiness
If we all lived our lives helping out anybody in trouble we would live in a better world.
Billy's 55 chevy ❤
Bill this video describes exactly who you are your willingness to help others, give advice, teach, and a all around good person is what draws me to watching your videos and the kids videos. The fact that the girls were sending you the booty pictures that was supposed to go to Billy had me laughing. Their are so many beautiful cars there along with that monte. I've seen that javelin run and it's definitely quick and I remember when alex had joined the 200 mph club and to run 217 is amazing to me. Thanks for the awesome entertainment God bless and as always be safe.
Thanks again for another awesome video Bill! You guys do a great job showing us all your daily escapades in life. Your one of a kind my man!!
The machining process is fascinating all together but a closer look at the heads or even how you check bearing clearances on the crank shaft main caps rod. Whatever you film bill will be very informative I'm sure love the content mate!!!!
racers helping racers, brothers helping brothers.
Great video, all you racers and Good People, God Bless All, Be Safe
Love big block Chevy stuff. Thanks for the work you and the crew do for content!!!!
👍🏽🇺🇸👍🏽 it’s awesome the way you all help each other.. wish more sports were like this.. hats off Bill
I'm voting for the best MAN for the job.
MY FAVORITE GARAGE CHANNEL !!!
😁👍🏼
Love that 72 Monte. I miss mine.
Bill and his family are legit racer that help other without expecting to receive something back.
Great job Old man! ❤️ nothing is better than helping out someone in need and getting that smile from him saying thank u to u! PRICELESS!! 👍👍
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again you guys make a heck of a good representation for us Ohioans.
Awesome job old man bless you for helping your brother in need!!!
Big Bill, the comments are all true about you and the family. You are distant family in a down home way. We all love you and the family that way. That includes the gang at Jeg's, Boɓ and family at McVey's, Chump' and Bucko, to salute a few. You have opened a can of worms worthy of fishing in the street racing and drag racing lifestyle. Thank you for all you do and keep paying it forward.
It’s always neat around this time of the year living so close to Milan Dragway ya see these guys pulling their trailers and I see them an think wow looks fun then I think of all the work to make them live for all those miles and I just can’t wrap my head around doing it.
It was really cool seeing ya get together with the Taylors again! While listening to you and Dennis talk, it became obvious that he'd be the perfect guest for you to have when you start doing podcasts. Would be awesome to have Alex on too, but I imagine her work schedule may make that difficult.
Thanks again
Congrats on 160k subs Bill. Love to see the channel growing!
Bill you and your family are absolute gems! This is by far my favorite channel! GOD BLESS you all!
If only more people were like you Bill, respect to you and your family. Just good people!
That’s the wonderful things of life is able to stop and help someone when they are broke down or needing a part or just something simple
"Who are you voting for"?
That was spot on.
The left will kill events like this.
I went to Milan on Thursday to experience this.
I have never seen such fast cars make a pass, then circle right back around to get back into the staging lanes and wait their turn and make another hit without having to perform massive service just to prepare for another round.
Goldstone in his Javelin did just that at Milan.
He got there late with about 35 minutes left before staging lanes closed.
He made a good hit, went a little center, had to lift, went back to the staging lanes and made another hit that was great.
Crowd loved it.
Also, from what I observed on UA-cam, it appears that Milan had the best crowd turn out.
Bill, you and your family are so awesome for the sport.
Drag week 2024 was awesome, Milan dragway.
I know it feels good to help people in need especially fellow racers! The old man's garage!👍
Pretty cool getting a shout out for helping out. Good work Bill.
Bill, I could watch your videos every day, love them..
Wow,These Drag and Drive cars are some of the most badass cars out there this year,Congrats to all of these guys and gals.

Awesome mr Bill keeping the old ways alive helping and not thinking twice about it 🙏 uncle Bob and your self have a plate full in engine work
I love 💕 this racing family! They stick together and really know how to have fun. A family of winners 🏆. They have their ups, and they have their lows, but they always come out on top in the end. Plus, they are surrounded by an amazing 🤩 community of cool people that support them. What a treat to experience, two thumbs up 👍 👍 for this showing. Great video 📸. Thanks.
I’d love to see all machine shop processes! I’d love to learn more about putting the entire bottom end together and valvetrain. Uncle Bob is awesome and I definitely like seeing him in the videos. Thank you for all that you do and allowing us along for the ride!
I love watching your videos. Your so much like my old man was and the people that we raced with in the 90s, every single video takes me back to those times.🥲 Thank you so much Bill! ❤✊️🇺🇲💪👏👏👏

This is a perfect example of how cool the car community really is. Everyone is willing to help any chance they can. There isn't too many groups as close knit as people within the car community
U guys do great job keep on keeping on...
Nice job Bill on rescuing a fellow racer with a sweet ride. I love those big body 70s Monte Carlo’s. The Taylor family is so awesome and Alex is a wheel man well wheel woman lol. I love her red Camaro aka Badmaro. Keep what you guys are doing because it gets us through tough times. Sending love from Eastern North Carolina

Love the javelins don't seem around very often my dad has two in the garage he has since passed and they're just sitting there hopefully one day I'll get them out
No better way to spend a Sunday afternoon watching another great video from da ol man
Great video, Dennis Taylor is the best!
Suggestion on machine shop content would be a complete parts number list on each individual engine build. Valve spring set up specs would be a great added bonus. thanks , love your channel.
I'm glad he still have the monte I haven't seen that car in about 30 years
Your an awesome man bill don't ever forget that
Great channel! I grew up in Lake Orion MI close to the place you dropped you Monte.
