So glad I stumbled across this, as it epitomizes MY thought process! I couldn't produce a "nice & neat" scrapbook if my life depended on it, just WAY too many little items of my chaotic memories and triggers 😀. I feel that we're friends! Thanks so much.
I am soo happy I found this tutorial and the one by CactusArts. I have been using paper bags whenever I can for groceries and this is such a fun way to recycle them. My 5 year old and I like to art journal together so I am collecting bags to make one for her and one for me. Thanks again for this great tutorial!
I am so hype to see another person with my love for tags and bags and miscellany! I am a SUCKER for makeup packaging lol This is going to be my first project of 2024. Thank you
Yes! A purpose for all the bloody Coles and Woolies bags I have stashed away! Three bags won't even make a dent but I do love having a hoard of paper bags. They are precious to me 😍
Luv this brown paper bag idea for sure I will be making one or two 😄 I hve alot of packaging ... clothes tags etc lying around from my glue booking will be a great start & a ton of brown bags ... thnku for sharing jst subbed watching from Australia 🇦🇺
Okay, I commented late last night that this looks like fun...well as of this morning I can't thank you enough for this really motivating project. My jumbo journal journey has begun and it is the perfect project for me. I've made many smaller journals but never thought to go this large. I used a long-arm stapler to quickly staple the pages together and will probably sew it when I have more time and patience, and may make this my 100 day project, adding something everyday ... again, a million thanks.
I wish sooooooo badly that we had a TJs here in NWA. When I lived in LA, I had 15 million TJ bags, as that was the only place I bought groceries. Thanks so much for sharing this with us, James. I'm wondering if anyone has TJ bags that I could pay to have shipped to me; LOL!!!
Oh my GOODIES! I LOVE THIS! Where have you been all my junk journaling life?? Honestly!! This is awesome! New subbie for sure, and you're not even half way through yet. I also shared your vid with my daughter who is sorta new to JJ'ing. Greetings from the Midwest, USA, MK 🤗❤🤗
I made a jumbo junk journal today from your instructions and I made a smaller one from the sides that were torn off😁 Thank you for the instructions!🙏🏽💚
I have several of these and they are great. I have also started keeping the left over from the USPS stamp sheets. The information on the back of them is great AND you can use the side that used to have the stamps as a sticker sheet. I fold those in half and then stitch several together and voila---a mini travel journal that you can journal and keep stickers as you go. I do like the backs of the sticker sheets 9 x 11 size as well, but I figure since I use a lot of stamps why not use those as well.
I love the designs on the paper bags there, the ones here in Australia are a bit boring lol. Well, they are where i live. Your journals are so lovely :)
Thanks so very much for this dear James and for your inspiration. Just what the Dr ordered 😀 I have my bags ready - from one of the 2 big Aussie supermarkets and I had everything else. So Away I Go! Love from Tasmania xx😊
Ohmygosh , this looks like fun. I have to say , I cannay throw these bag away. And I don’t let family family throw them. They know me too well now. ❤❤😂😂 I bought some from woolies here at Xmas time just to keep as they were Xmas styled . That’s how obsessed I am with paper bags 🤣🤣🤣🤣 TFS . I want to follow and make one. Btw . I don’t mind the paper sounds, 😅😅 greetings from Australia 🐨🐨
I am on Carnival Spirit & we just watched the dancers in an 80s remix of favorites & I thought about you. I know how happy you must be to be back in dancing. The shows on Carnival Spirit are not the quality that the shows on Royal Caribbean were and I am sure not the quality of Disney shows. But the dancers were high spirited & fun.
looooovveee the dedicated tutorial for the crinkling and making sure I did mine right. Lol. I made one for the holiday based on last year’s vid. 😃🎄The flips are great. I am also pleased a “neat” junk journal is a thing. It’s how I do...my first time junking and it’s been fun. You continue to inspire and encourage my creative journey, James. Thank you! Happy New Year!
James - thank you for sharing your beautiful creative mega journals. You truly are an inspiration. I cannot wait to get started and to assemble my memorabilia items and photos from last summer's 20-day trip through Nova Scotia & Newfoundland. Happy New Year!
HAPPY NEW YEAR JAMES! Oh wow, I made my own mega journals after watching the video of your first one but I (painfully) undid the whole bag and I did this for 25 bags. The way you did it (cut it open) is sooo much faster and easier, Ill definitely use your method going forward, thank you for this tutorial!
Where were you? I loved this video so much!!! UA-cam sometimes makes me angry, because I basically look for junk journals every day and it never showed your videos. I'm glad whatever happened, happened. ❤
Hey James. I am a keeper as well, and I knew you did these journals, but this casual flip thru has really motivated me to follow suit! You've told us before, bit what kind of printer do you have? Thank you for sharing your art!! Happy New Year!!!
I think I'm just way behind the curve. Do you have an arts and craft collection available in stores? Or is there another James Burke collection on the shelves?
Ummmmmmm ...... Just my 3¢..... I definitely think there are aspects of the more ordered journals that are are enjoyable..... BUT..... also aspects of the more random junky style that are enjoyable also!! As in very often order and chaos go hand in hand with each other.... But at the end of the day I would say always Embrace The Chaos!!! It's just a bit more fun... The never really knowing what is next or the randomness of things not matching with other things. It's so much going in at ounce that we are never just seeing it in full all at once, which leads to seeing or finding new/ different things that were missed everytime you go back and look threw it again!! Thats what I think is really awesome about that style. ( But I also think it get that with the more orderly version also) just far less.

This looks like such fun.

Absolutely love your video and ideas and look forward to many more
Thank you for sharing! I love this size of this! This would. Be perfect for me to make for my art friend Jen.
Love this and adore your drawings! Stunning!!
💜 Wow! Lovely Junk Journal! 💜
It’s huge but I love it! ❤
I enjoyed each page! Love this video. Thank you.
First time I'm watching you do you glue all the other parts inside very nice
What a great tip on layering them down! It never occurred to me to lay them out like that. So you can have a double spread. Ty 😊

Correct 🤣🤣🤣❤️
I can see myself making a journal like you made here. What I do is incorporating this kind of "junk" into my daily journaling TN.
Wow your journals are beautiful and now I am inspired to make one. Trader Joe’s here I come!

how did you add in all of your pages? I am new to your channel and pretty new to JJing. Thank you so much for sharing. Hugs from NC/USA
I think I'm just way behind the curve. Do you have an arts and craft collection available in stores? Or is there another James Burke collection on the shelves?
It’s somebody else hahahaha. I have never been able to find their brand though! So weird haha

Yes, the way to fix that is you release the whole journal flip video, before you show all the videos of the creation of each page.
