Hi Gemma! Boy, your title really threw me today! Not what I expected, ha. Thanks so much for the shout out about my humor. I swear you’re on my wavelength. Just recently I’ve been thinking that I would love to have a podcast where I just sit and talk with my friends because I always try to make people laugh and I’m usually successful. And sometimes when I can’t sleep, I pretend I’m doing standup, and I’ve been thinking that I should record some of my thoughts. The only one I remember is from a pretend routine about aging in which I said, “No one warns you about the vaginal combover.” Yes, my channel is up and running so maybe I’ll start incorporating some humor. Just watched this morning, but wow wow wow this is exactly how my day went yesterday!
This week, anytime I tried to tackle my work projects, other people's requests for help would halt my progress. Finally, yesterday, I had time to get one important project done, and wouldn't you know, the reporting tool was broken!! Needless to say, I had myself a big blub after work and cried out to the Universe, what's the answer? Moments later, my dog came in with a toy and we started playing. Immediate joy and oh yes, gratitude. He's 8 years old and hardly wants to run around anymore, but last night, he was like a puppy again.
Long story short (sorry, I'm a Gemini 😂) it reminded me that I allowed my energy to be drained by others. I do have the power to remove myself energetically from it and just do the job. Also, having pets is one of the most amazing human experiences in life.

I know you said just to do one joke, but this is actually my own favorite which I didn’t put before because not everyone thinks it’s funny. Here goes:
I was walking along the shore the other day when I met a man with a large, round, orange head. I said
“Excuse me, I don’t mean to be rude, but how did you get such a large, round, orange head?”
He said “Well, one day I was walking along the shore, just as we are today, when I found a bottle with a genie in it, and the genie offered me three wishes. First I wished for enormous wealth, and I could feel my pockets fill with gold. Then I wished for a beautiful and living wife, and there she was, at my side!…. and this is where I think I went terrible wrong… I wished for a large, round, orange head”.
Perhaps it’s because of all my own dubious desires, but this cracks me up every time 🤣🤣
The joke about Zero Eight and the belt was cute. I enjoyed that joke! I have no joke to tell because I always screw up the punch line. In high school, friends used to say, "And then you found five dollars" after I told stories 😅 😢.
Diablo is a hoot! Glad you two were okay in the end. My knucklehead here at home is a 4 month old golden retriever puppy. She's teething, and oy is that an adventure. Her name is Calypso, but i usually call her Callie or Knucklehead. She's a stinker, but she's cute. Raising her on my own was a bold choice. I give single parents to human babies lods of kudos. I can only imagine it's just a fraction of what I'm taking in.
If anyone has suggestions of teething toys that don't cause constipation, I'm all ears 🥰

In the 80s I was living in Los Angeles and working at a law firm in Century City. The firm was in a skyscraper at one end of a two-level shopping mall where we would walk for lunch. One day Olivia Newton-John was in town, and she kindly did a whole lunch hour concert at the other end of the mall. I had a place in the upper level looking over a railing and down at her, kind of like a balcony seat but practically right over the stage, a perfect place. She was just as charming, lovely, and lyrical in person. ❤❤❤❤
I’m watching this at 6:00 AM having just woken because a car is coming at 7:30 to take me to the dentist for major surgery involving extraction of a crowned tooth that sits under a bridge. I am aware that there is ultimately joy to be found, but no one had better mention it!
