I think unfortunately it's a really realistic depiction of what can happen when two ppl struggling with their mental health fall in love. Sometimes it just gets so toxic
i know that jules and rue is a toxic-complicated relationship but i guess jules really does love rue in some way. she’s just all over the place too, exploring herself, exploring what real love is.

Jules definitely loves Rue with all her heart, it's that she doesn't know what to do with those feelings. At first they were kinda something like "friends with benefits", but then it turned into love, but they are both so toxic for eachother.

So does Jules. No hate it's just looks like people find it so freaking romantic to date an addict. I know what's it feels like to be with someone who is unhealthy and sees you as their angel/saviour. If you're nice and empathetic they'll be taking all of your emotional resources away from you. And as long as you trying to get them out of shit they made, you will be feeling worse and worse. The moment you tell them you cannot "save" them anymore they make the biggest scene so you'll feel guilty. It's not nice not romantic and not save.
