Mostly Autumn have been going for about 25 years now. Very underrated. Their best songs are as good as classics from Pink Floyd and the like. Overall their music is very diverse, especially in the earlier albums. I would describe it as melodic classic/prog rock. Roughly speaking they can be split between the Heather and Olivia years, referring to the two female leads. A good intro song is Evergreen. This was Heather's song but Olivia has also sung it. There are various versions on YT. They have a few epics such as The Gap is Too Wide and Mother Nature that are worth checking out but there’s loads of good stuff.
Hi Kevin! Totally agree with you. Heather actually wrote the lyrics for Evergreen, but Bryan wrote the music. Great song. Let's hope we can enjoy them for another 25 years
I would say Heather and Olivia are different but equally good as singers, but with Heather being more versatile all around, e.g., more instrumentation.
Personally, Im glad she didnt get on with Nightwish. She suits Mostly Autumns style perfectly, and Id rather listen to this band any day. Their music is so much more interesting and musical.
